This was probably the quietest al Wen Han had ever had. Although Su Mu tried her best to maintain a smile and desperately tried to converse, her distraction was genuine. Her concerns occupied all her thoughts, until Wen Han couldn’t help but speak up:

"Su Mu, I’m not soone who minds a bit of silence. Having a quiet al is fine too, you don’t have to force yourself to talk to . You’re tired, and I’m tired too."

Su Mu felt an unprecedented sense of defeat. She really shouldn’t bring her emotions to soone else, especially when it was sothing that had nothing to do with him. It was impolite and disrespectful. She set down her bowl and chopsticks and smiled apologetically:

"I’m sorry, I was rude."

Wen Han glanced at her:

"If you feel oppressed, you can talk to about it, but if you don’t want to, you can keep it to yourself. No one can force you to say what you don’t want to say. But you also need to know how to relieve yourself, otherwise, in the long run, it’s no good for anyone."

"Thank you."

"I haven’t really helped you with anything."

After dinner, Wen Han took Su Mu back to the sanatorium. Su Mu thanked him and got out of the car, but Wen Han called her back:

"Su Mu."

Su Mu turned around and looked at Wen Han: "Is there sothing else?"

"Take today off for yourself, you don’t need to go to the kindergarten to pick up Shaoyuan; my parents and I are here."

Su Mu also knew that in her current state, going to tutor Wen Shaoyuan could only backfire, so she didn’t refuse Wen Han’s suggestion. She smiled faintly and nodded: "Thank you."

It had been a while since Su Mu last visited the sanatorium, yet her mother still looked the sa, showing no sign of change. Her vital signs were all normal, but she still showed no intention of waking up. Su Mu sat beside her bed, holding her mother’s hand tightly in her own palm.

"Mom, if you were like before, you could talk to now and give so advice. I really don’t know what to do."

After washing her mother’s hair, giving her a bath, and changing the bedding, Su Mu realized how tired she was, but seed to feel relieved. Discarding those worrying trifles, everyone could live happily.

When leaving the sanatorium, Su Mu felt a mont of confusion. She didn’t know whether to go back to Bishui Yuntian or to stay a few days at Jiang Bei’s place. But knowing Fu Shinian’s character, he probably wouldn’t return to Bishui Yuntian soon, and Su Mu didn’t want to bother Jiang Bei anymore, so she took a taxi straight ho.

In the bedroom on the second floor, Su Mu had a quick shower and was drying her hair when she stopped abruptly upon noticing a particular spot. Hesitating a few seconds, she walked over and opened the drawer where she normally kept contraceptives.

She didn’t want a child, not now. She wanted to reject this one possibility.

But unexpectedly, the contraceptives that were always in the drawer were gone. She searched the entire drawer to no avail. Then it struck her, a possibility, and after she got dressed and went downstairs to ask Auntie Lin, Auntie Lin nodded:

"Mr. Fu called early in the morning, had all the dicines in the drawer thrown away."

Just as expected!

But what was the use of Fu Shinian doing this? If she wanted to avoid conception this ti, would his disposal of the pills stop her from buying new ones? But Fu Shinian was not soone who did things without practical effects, so why this ti?

Su Mu’s bafflent found an answer the next day. If Fu Shinian had thrown away the dicines, he must have wanted her to have a child and surely had a backup plan. What Su Mu never expected was that he would force her into submission through a form of soft imprisonnt.

Looking at the two black-suited bodyguards standing outside the door, Su Mu didn’t get angry. She knew it was pointless to say anything more to these n; they obeyed Fu Shinian’s orders.

She returned to the living room and dialed Fu Shinian’s number, resolutely and without any hesitation.

But Fu Shinian didn’t answer her call, and Su Mu didn’t call again, after hanging up, she called Song Yi.

When Song Yi received the call from Su Mu, he was in a eting, sitting next to Fu Shinian, he naturally saw his phone screen light up, and when Su Mu’s na flickered on the screen, Song Yi suddenly felt much more at ease. After all, if Mrs. Fu was willing to call Mr. Fu, there was no problem that couldn’t be solved without him being the go-between.

However, his happiness didn’t last for even a minute before his own phone rang, and he instantly had a bad premonition.

The second he picked up the phone and saw the na, he was totally flustered, but he didn’t dare not answer, he could only quietly step out of the eting room and stand in the hallway, whispering:

"Mrs. Fu."

"Where is Fu Shinian?"

Song Yi had never heard Su Mu’s voice so stern before, even on the day Fu Shinian went mad and smashed the car, Su Mu was indeed furious but never carried such an imposing tone. Intuitively, Song Yi felt that not only had the situation not improved between the two, but their relationship had actually deteriorated further.

He suppressed a sigh:

"Mr. Fu is in a eting."

"Let him answer the phone."

Song Yi exclaid in surprise, "But, Mr. Fu really is in a eting."

"I said, let him answer the phone," Su Mu’s voice left no room for doubt, making Song Yi realize the gravity of the situation. Not daring to delay any further, he said he would wait a mont and then returned to the eting room. Whispering back to Fu Shinian, he leaned in close to his ear:

"Your wife wants you to answer the phone; she doesn’t sound pleased."

Fu Shinian, as if he had predicted such an outco, didn’t even lift his eyes: "Don’t bother with it."

Song Yi: "...But..."

"What? Who exactly is your boss?"

Song Yi fell silent, holding the phone and thinking of an excuse to reply to Su Mu when Fu Shinian abruptly snatched the phone away and hung up.

Song Yi watched Fu Shinian’s series of actions intently, with only one thought in mind:

It’s done for.

After being hung up on, Su Mu still did not appear angry, at least not on the surface. But Auntie Lin, standing by the side, didn’t dare to say a word, she had no idea what had transpired between the two to make Fu Shinian even consider house arrest.

Just as Auntie Lin approached to pour a glass of water for Su Mu, she suddenly stood up from the sofa and went directly upstairs. Auntie Lin, worried sothing might be wrong, thought to follow her but unexpectedly Su Mu turned around to comfort her:

"Auntie Lin, don’t worry, I’m fine."

Back in her room, Su Mu went straight into the bathroom and stood in the shower, turning on the cold water in an attempt to calm herself down. Yet, no matter how low her body temperature got, the fury in her heart did not subside by the slightest bit. Su Mu had always known that Fu Shinian had never truly respected her from his heart, but even so, he had never done anything like he did today.
