Kynar Voss POV (final)
"Life is a constant beginning. Every morning we are reborn; every morning we choose again: whether we will live as slaves or as free people. Most never even notice the choice. But those who do, with every breath they remake the world." — Albus Camus
I did everything I could to help Director Stella at Arcadia Academy.
I didn’t stay in the luxury suite reserved for professors.
Because if I wanted to resurrect Sarah, I needed sowhere safer.
With the money I had saved, I bought a house.
I placed holy magic on my secret basent so it would explode if anyone entered without permission.
Yes, extre asures, but hard tis breed madn.
Fuck it, that’s not how the saying goes, but this is my version.
If you have a damn problem, say it to my face.
The academy gave more than enough research material.
In ti, I started reading the forbidden books in the library.
Of course, not everyone had access; only professors could enter that section.
One of the forbidden books I found was about phistopheles.
Because I was ready to sell my soul if I had to, just to make up for my own failure.
There were even rumors spreading across the continent about a being called the Entity, treating the world like his own backyard.
Goddamn it, the other gods hadn’t descended to Arcadia in thousands of years. Why now?
I even wanted to sell my soul to him, but he never showed up.
(Dude thinks he’s the MC of a cultivation novel.)
It could have been a pretty embarrassing dark Chapter in my history.
Even though I researched day and night, I still had an image to maintain.
Among the students, I was a respected elite professor.
My research on Sarah wasn’t going well.
No matter how much I slowed the decay of the body, it was still in the decay stage. It was normal; I had already been working on it for a very long ti.
I searched desperately for a solution.
There was one, but it was risky.
There was a man at the academy nad Sphiros. He knew more than about these things.
Philosopher, writer, sage.
These were just a few of the titles that could be used for Sphiros.
(Sphiros is the one who died in Chapter 5.)
Going to him was pure torture.
I got special permission from Director Stella and went to him, who was quite famous in Valentine.
"Are you insane? You should never ss with the Entity!!!" I had told him my problem.
When I explained everything, his face was sympathetic, but the mont I ntioned the Entity, he lost it.
No one could enter that circle, and even mages were busy studying it.
I looked at the old man sitting inside the pentagram. "Fuck it, old man, help . How the hell am I supposed to do this?"
"Son, so things must be forgotten. You need to move on with your life."
Damn, wise words.
Son of a bitch! If I could forget, I wouldn’t have co to you.
I sighed. "It’s not that easy... The little elf girl appears in my dreams. Even when I’m awake, I see her trying to strangle with her blood-covered hands."
Sphiros muttered. "Hmm... yes, this must be a curse. Curses cast at the mont of death are the most troubleso."
"No, old man, this is psychological. You forgot who I am? Forr head of the Inquisition! Even though I’ve dealt with curses inside and out, I can’t beat these hallucinations."
Even though the man was blind, it felt like he was staring into my soul.
Sphiros wasn’t powerful, but sotis knowledge is more important than power. In fact, most of the ti it is.
"Then listen carefully to what I’m about to tell you. There are certain ways to summon a divine being. But they co with an uncertain price... I’m telling you one of those thods now. Listen well..."
He taught how to contact a divine being.
It’s kind of like calling them on a phone.
But whether they answer or not is up to them.
That’s why this shit is so risky.
When an unknown number calls, ordinary people just get annoyed.
But gods can say "fuck off, mortal!" and leave you alone with a polar bear in the desert.
(Like NASA sending frequencies into space these days; whether aliens respond or not is uncertain.)
Then I started the preparations.
When the new academy students arrived, there was a strange feeling.
I was already being as careful as possible because a hero had appeared after years.
Besides that, there was soone in my class who gave off moon goddess vibes.
Like a follower of Artemis.
Damn it, this brings back bad mories.
Finally, the call I sent to the universe was answered.
"Mortal, I’ve been watching you for a long ti. How about I bring that girl back to life? :)"
Ahh, finally. "I’ll do anything you want, my lord."
The figure appeared before .
It looked like a woman.
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, blood for blood. When you die, I’ll take your soul, and the girl will be revived. Don’t kill yourself right now. In one and a half months, do whatever I want."
"I accept."
I wish I had focused on summoning the Entity instead of keeping this deal.
I tried calling him the first ti, and when he didn’t co, I didn’t bother again.
Because the goddess in front of wasn’t just any goddess.
She was a beautiful red red-eyed, tall-haired woman.
She has a cold face, like she is sowhere she shouldn’t be.
Really looked pissed off.
But I know this person, at least which goddess she is....
She is:
HEL, the Norse goddess of the underworld...
(Guys, finally we saw who betrayed Raul..... you will see her reasons later. I don’t feel very good, but this website doesn’t even give 2 days break..... I really feel how people are treated in the CCP anyway. Don’t forget to comnt and leave a review.)
