Nocthral, Ragnar Duchy.
"FIREEEEE!!!!" A devil general in a black uniform was pointing ahead from the castle walls.
He was pointing at the thousands of spider monsters ahead.
The soldiers aid their mana cannons at the spiders.
BOOMMMMM!
The giant spiders were bombarded; a disgusting sll spread from their corpses.
But it was as if for every one that died, two more appeared; their numbers didn’t seem to decrease.
They were slowly approaching the walls.
The general shouted, "Ballistas, fire while the mana cannons are reloading."
The soldiers looked scared.
"CO ON!" the general shouted, and the soldiers snapped out of it.
The scale of the bombardnt was very high; mountains of spider corpses were forming.
But the spiders didn’t care and leaped toward the walls.
"Throw the stones from the wall," the general was rushing.
So soldiers took heavy stones and dropped them from the castle walls.
They knocked down the spiders.
"Mages, burn the ones below," the general ordered the robed mages.
Fire and lightning surged along the castle walls, burning and turning everything to ash.
But what happened happened, and the spiders didn’t stop.
A black-armored swordsman was standing next to the general; the general turned around: "Your turn, continue."
"As you command," the man said and placed his hand on the castle walls; spears erged from the spiders’ shadows and began killing them.
When the ones on the wall died, the man looked at the spiders still coming relentlessly ahead.
He sighed: "My turn," he said, and jumped from the castle walls.
The walls were 100 ters high and 10 ters thick.
PUFFFF
The man landed on the ground and drew his claymore: "Hope it’s fun," he said and vanished from sight.
Amid the bombardnt, it was as if he was teleporting; every ti he swung his sword, more than 4 spiders died.
The claymore was covered in shadow, and nothing stood in his path.
He was left covered in blood; his black hair was soaked with green blood, and his armor was almost no longer black.
That person was Raul.
3 spiders leaped at him.
Raul pointed his finger, and a mana ball hit the 3 spiders’ bodies, causing them to explode.
They surrounded him.
"CO ON, YOU CAN DO IT," the general said from afar.
Their numbers had decreased, but the most important thing was the leader of those spiders.
The Mother Spider was slowly approaching, and from afar, Raul started raining acid and webs; Raul dodged them all at the last second.
Every ti the spiders got close, their bodies or heads were severed.
Raul entered a stance, planted his feet on the ground; a crater ford.
Then, a half-moon-shaped light made of dark mana advanced.
Darkness covered the entire battlefield; the Mother Spider froze.
Before it could realize what happened, the spider’s lower body with its human upper body was separated.
The energy wave from the sword advanced across the battlefield ahead and caused nearly 400 spiders and 1 mother spider to die in a half-moon shape.
The bombardnts continued.
Then Raul appeared again in front of the general on the castle walls: "Commission done, right?"
"Yes, good job; the rest of our little fry mages will handle. If you weren’t here, the death toll couldn’t even be calculated," the general said.
Raul chuckled, ignoring the bombardnt sounds behind: "Don’t worry, general, after all, I was hired as an adventurer by Duke Nox von Ragnar. I’m just getting my pay."
"I still can’t understand how you’re a 6th-tier magic swordsman at 16 and want to go to the academy?" the general said while still observing the battlefield.
Raul sighed: "Reputation is important in the academy, and you were the ones who assigned the adventurer job."
"Yes, you can’t imagine how surprised I was when the guild said they’d assign soone else instead of the adventurer we called," the general said and put his hand on Raul’s shoulder.
"Right, Black Knight," he said and laughed.
Raul looked annoyed: "Co on, the guild gave that nickna...."
"Just kidding, Raul, go rest," the general said and told Raul to leave.
Yes, Raul beca an adventurer.
When he saw adventurers at the inn, he wanted to give it a chance; the workload of adventurers increased against the seemingly endless monster invasions.
I registered as a B-rank adventurer at the adventurer guild since I was 6th tier.
After this mission, I would beco A-rank.
At this age, it was impossible; a story that could be told as a children’s fairy tale.
I’ve been away from the Dragnar Empire for 1 month.
A-rank adventurers have a different reputation.
They are quite expensive and have certain authorities; so far, including this war, I’ve participated in 5 wars.
Thanks to my kills, I will be going to beco an A-rank.
This month, I’ve been in the Ragnar Duchy the whole ti; even General Lambert, who talked to at first, got used to it.
Everything was to clear my head; I decided to set aside the soul-harvesting business for a bit.
Moreover, before entering Arcadia Academy, I tried to shake off the bad rumors that would form about with a good reputation.
The demons respected .
To them, I was soone who protected them with everything.
Moreover, in my live broadcast, I had ntioned that I preferred demons over humans.
Yes, demons and humans are not just fighting because of an agreent.
Because there were chains of hatred that would last for centuries, humans fought with demons back then for more resources and hid this from the World.
Even in history, it was recorded as because of demons, but they were innocent.
No matter how much I was a man hired as an adventurer for them, I was still a human.
A human was showing sympathy to demons.
The best way to explain this is to imagine you were a slave and your master freed you.
That kind of feeling.
It cannot be described with words.
I hope everything turns out well.....
