Growing up near the slums of Guldorn made Elicia a very tough girl.
Born as a result of a one-night stand between a very reluctant Goblin and a passing-by adventurer, she was stigmatised all her life, from the day she was born. Pelted with rocks and garbage wherever she went, she closed off all her emotions, revealing them to no one else, except her mother.
Elicia was one of the ugliest girls to be ever born...
Or at least that's what the Goblins said
From a very young age, her human-like face caused her to be the target of many a relentless bullying. Every ti she went out, those of the sa gender would always taunt her, pull her hair, or worse, beat her until she nearly broke her bones. This increased as she grew older, the female Goblins getting more and more angry at how she began to look better than them.
The n also began to notice this...
She rembers the first ti when an elderly gentlegoblin ca near her mother's bakery. Feeling bored staying cooped up, she decided to explore her surroundings, even when her mother told her not to go out in the dayti. Believing it to be just abject paranoia, she ignored it, heading out near the park.
There, she was nearly raped...
She only survived because her mother found her in the nick of ti, beating the Elder nearly to death. Fearing for her daughter's life, Grilda packed her bags, escaping Guldorn.
For the next 8 years, the duo travelled across the Goblin Kingdom incognito, fearing that they would be caught by the followers of that rich Goblin Grilda had beaten up.
Or that's what Elicia thought...
On her 18th birthday, after gaining her Unique Skill and class in Church, Elicia was ecstatic. She had gained the class of 'Arcane Alchemist' along with the Skill 'Ingenious Impera', which was an SSS class Skill. Burning with joy, she headed back ho, where she witnessed a great tragedy.
There stood her mother, fighting toe-to-toe with 20 Goblins, each exhibiting great powers.
"MOOOOM!"
Seeing her daughter, Grilda was distracted for a brief mont.
And it was that brief mont that spelled her doom
One of the Goblins, noticing this opportunity, imdiately swung their sword, gravely wounding Grilda, while another headed to capture young Elicia. Seeing that they were about to capture her daughter, Grilda hesitated, but in the end, made up her mind.
"Elicia, my sweet, sweet child, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I won't be able to see you grow up, I'm sorry that I won't see you get married...
I'm sorry...for leaving you
With tears dripping down her eyes, Grilda made her heartbreaking decision: tearing the necklace from her neck, she chanted sothing in an unknown language, causing it to shine. Without any warning, she hurled it at Elicia, who, frozen in shock, could only watch as it teleported her way from the battle.
The last thing she saw before fainting was a bright flash of light...
Mom, NOOOO!!!

Falling into a pair of bushes, Elicia sat there, too shocked to find out where she was. Her eyes lay dead, their light dimd to oblivion.
Her mother was dead, and it was all her fault
If only she hadn't gone to the Church that day, if only she had taken her mother with her, if only she stayed ho that day, if only... if only...
If only...
She was interrupted from her thoughts by her stomach grumbling. Realising that she hadn't eaten for a whole day, she reluctantly got up, and began walking. Despite being extrely weak, her tenacious bloodline helped her to navigate out of the forest.
Upon reaching the exit, she realised that she had trespassed the Hymalas Mountains, the most dangerous place in all of Earasmus. Taking her chances while it was still day, she hobbled her way out, hiding beneath a passing carriage. Luckily for her, the owner was slightly deaf, which allowed her to safely smuggle in as a straggler.
For the next month or so, she travelled across the entire continent, hopping across multiple carriages, sotis even hiding underneath wild animals (despite being very slly). By doing this, she managed to evade her captors, all the while filled with rage.
Yet this all ca crashing down one day...
That day, like all others, she attempted to hitch a ride, only to be caught right in the act. At first, the rchant initially wanted to kill her, but upon seeing her face, other thoughts, devious thoughts, grew in his mind.
"Hey, hey, hey, look at what we have here... Slurp, it's not my first ti getting to have sex with a Goblin, but it sure is with a face like that! Now co here you–"
Screaming in fear, Elicia hastily kicked the old man in his groins. While he was reeling in pain, she used this chance to escape into a nearby river.
"Co back here you little runt!"

"Brrr!"
Shivering with cold, Elicia hugged herself, trying her best to retain as much heat as she could.
But it was all futile...
Little by little, she could feel her body getting colder and colder. And with no food left on her, she could not produce enough energy to keep herself warm, much less walk. She could feel her life ebbing away, yet all she felt was...
Relief
Mom, your little honeybuns will soon join you...
Just when she had no hope left in her, a warm blanket, along with a box of sandwiches, was pushed in front of her.
"Hey, I don't know what happened, but it seems you could use so food and a warm blankie. Keep it, I've got more..."
With a wave, the dwarf bade her farewell, all the while carrying a giant balloon on his shoulders...

Reminiscing about her past, Elicia sat down near the tree, munching on the very sandwich that saved her life. Alone, she finally opened her Status Screen:
