"I knew Jojo’s real na the mont I saw him as a newborn. Jojo’s mother didn’t have ti to give him a na, as she died soon after seeing her son. And I..." Kael took a deep breath. "When a cursed being knows their real na, they have the chance to tap into their full power. I grew up feared like a monster, and I didn’t want Jojo to end up like . So I discarded my curse for four years and raised Jojo in seclusion—until I was forced to accept that curse once again to save my son’s life."

Kael turned his head towards the hut, and back at Sisi. "I nad him Joy, because his birth gave a joy in love, as we were ant to be a pair of father and son in every incarnation."

"And from Joy-Joy, it becos Jojo?" Sisi asked, and Kael nodded. Sisi giggled. "Okay, that’s actually cute. Jojo told once that he also had no idea about his na, but I guess he just forgot that he called himself Joy-Joy and his toddler tongue simplified it as Jojo."

Kael smiled back at his beloved. "Then what about you, Sisi? Since you’ve t your grandma, there must be a na that’s deeper than just Sisi, right?"

"Mhm~ but I won’t tell you my real na."

"Ah? Why?" Kael’s smile slowly dissipated. "Am I not worthy of knowing that?"

"Tsk tsk, don’t be silly. I can’t let you know because a faerie na is sacred, but it still rhys with Sisi, don’t worry," Sisi said. She saw that Kael was still sulking about it and added, "I’ll tell you at the end of spring, don’t worry."

"Hm? What’s so special about the end of spring?"

"... It’s Jojo’s fifth birthday, rember? He told that his birthday is at the beginning of sumr!" Sisi playfully hit Kael’s chest. "You’re his father, how co you forgot about that?"

Kael felt there was more to it than what she said. But he decided to let go of his needless worry. "Alright then, I’ll wait until the end of spring to finally call you by your real na."

"Now, now, the focus is not about us. It’s Jojo," Sisi grabbed the bamboo container filled with the miraculous water and said, "The water from Origin Spring is inside this container. I need his real na so I can perform a miracle, Kael."

"His real na..." Kael slowly leaned towards Sisi and his lips parted, whispering Jojo’s real na into her ear.

Sisi’s eyes widened, and she clenched the bamboo container tighter as she heard that na, because it was such a short na that carried a lot of weight in it.

Kael said that once a cursed being discovered their true na, they’d have the chance to beco so powerful and turn into a monster.

Would Jojo turn into a monster in the future?

Sisi doubted that.

Jojo had never shown any ill intent towards her and others. He was the perfect good boy who simply wanted to be together with his family.

"Alright, I’ll perform a miracle to cure his blindness. But I want you to stay here, Kael."

"Why not? I want to stay with you and Jojo, so in case sothing goes wrong, I can protect you imdiately."

Sisi actually wanted that too. But Grandma told her that giving up her divinity to heal others would be really painful, and Sisi might not be able to control her facial expression.

She didn’t want Kael to see that she was in pain and interrupt the miracle midway.

"It’s part of the miracle. Just trust , alright?"

Kael was very weak when Sisi gave him that assuring smile. To him, Sisi always felt like an unreachable moon, because every ti he wanted to get close to her or protect her, Sisi would find reasons for him to back off.

But since it was her who wanted it, it’d be difficult for Kael to refuse.

"Just... just tell if you’re in pain or you need help. I will stay outside and wait," Kael said.

Sisi nodded. She turned around and was about to walk to the hut when Kael suddenly grabbed her arm. "Wait—Sisi!"

"Y-yes?" Sisi looked at him again and saw Kael’s distressed expression. "What’s wrong?"

"Promise that the miracle won’t hurt you and won’t separate you from us. Jojo won’t care about enduring seven or even ten years of blindness as long as he can stay with you, and I... I really need you by my side, Sisi..."

"... Don’t worry, I promise that I won’t leave you alone right after I perform the miracle. As for pain? Well, didn’t I tell you that it’d cause to have a headache?" Sisi smiled at him, and he finally let go.

Technically, she didn’t lie.

She wouldn’t leave Kael and Jojo until the end of spring, probably right after Jojo’s fifth birthday.

On top of that, she would get a headache on top of the extre pain that Grandma ntioned, but it mattered not for her, because she truly wanted Jojo to live a normal life now.

She entered the hut and saw the boy sleeping while still wearing his cloak. He seed to like his coat so much that he kept wearing it, since Kael’s coat was still spotless while Jojo’s had dirt stains here and there.

She smiled and sat right next to Jojo. She helped the boy lay his head on her lap. She had no intention of waking him up, since she didn’t know how long it would take for her to endure the pain, or if Jojo could see right after drinking the water.

She didn’t want Jojo to see her in pain, because he was just like his father and would insist on Sisi stopping the miracle.

"My dearest son, Mommy has returned to cure you," Sisi said while gently caressing Jojo’s hair. "Don’t feel guilty over this, okay? Because your health and happiness matter the most to ."
