Marik almost laughed seeing the stupid crown prince fall into his trap so easily. As soone with vast experience living in both beastman and human civilizations, he knew that humans’ insecurity tended to get the best of them.

Once they felt insecure, they’d try their best to maintain their position, or do sothing to make themselves look stronger or more capable, just like how the Crown Prince wanted to cent his position as the future King of Barion Kingdom.

’And once he joins the war, it shouldn’t be difficult to kill him. This war will be huge enough to destroy both kingdoms and keep Kael busy for a good while.’

"Then, I’ll be staying in the camp while you do the skirmish, Your Highness. I am but a re feeble rchant. I might be tall, but I’ve never learned martial arts and have no idea how to hold a weapon."

Crown Prince Ludwig scoffed. "You did your job as intended, so you can rest assured. Besides, there is no way we can lose in this skirmish, especially when we have firearms."

Again, Marik almost laughed when he heard that. This foolish bastard really thought that his guns would be enough to kill those beastn.

Beastman soldiers were naturally really fast, and the alpha beastn were capable of taking down ten ard humans with weapons at once.

The only reason why humans were able to prosper at this point was because beastman tribes were always at odds with each other. Since most of them were equal in strength, their territories never grew and they were stuck in their small tribes for the rest of their lives.

But with the arrival of Kael, as the Beast King who united the kingdom, these alpha beastn beca generals in the Beast Kingdom and they obeyed Kael without question.

Marik could already imagine the bloodbath during the skirmish without him doing anything. So he simply returned to the tent to et with Leah again.

"How did it go, Boss? Is he going to war?" Leah asked.

"The war between humans and beastn is inevitable now," Marik replied. "And your handso crown prince... will die during this skirmish."

"Aww, that’s too bad," Leah sighed. She was genuinely sad knowing that her new boyfriend would die in a war. "I really wanted to marry him. But I guess he’s just a human in the end. They are just naturally fragile. There’s no way a human like him can handle ."

"Not even beastn can handle you," Marik comnted, and Leah’s lips twitched as she knew that she had just been insulted.

"So, what should we do next, Boss?" Leah asked.

"Nothing. Let’s just wait and see how it’ll play out. I might have to slip into the skirmish and kill Ludwig if necessary, but I’m sure that pretty boy would’ve died from a random arrow or sothing."

"Gee, you are so rude calling him a pretty boy. He’s the crown prince!"

"—of a human kingdom," Marik scoffed. "They’ve always been weak. Why should I care about the weak?"

The palace inside the Beast Kingdom was in shambles right now. Their nation’s advisor was gravely injured after getting attacked by a mysterious man who had also killed the envoy.

Based on the information given by the beastman guards who were present at the cri scene, and also based on Young General Garou’s testimony, the man who attacked Sir Vestor was a tall human.

But it was also impossible for a human to move that fast and pierce through Vestor’s body using only his claws.

Thus, everyone in the palace agreed that it must’ve been a beastman who knew about the ins and outs of the kingdom.

The guards were tasked with searching the entire kingdom just to find any evidence they could use to identify the culprit.

But the attacker was very skillful and made sure to leave nothing at the cri scene.

Without the Beast King or Vestor, the entire beast court was in complete shambles. They were used to obeying the Beast King or Sir Vestor as his representative.

Without them, the mbers of the beast court began eyeing each other, thinking that soone might want to try and take the throne for himself while the Beast King wasn’t here.

Grishaw was the one appointed to manage the army while Kael was gone, so he was forced to take the leadership role while waiting for Vestor to recover.

"We have to stay united. Our King will return in about a week. If he sees this ss by the ti he arrives, none of us will be safe from his outrage," Grishaw warned.

Fortunately, everyone in the court also had the sa idea. They had suppressed all of their desires to rebel and claim the throne after what happened to Garou before.

Despite his age, Garou was the third strongest general in the kingdom, with the Beast King at the very top, General Pell, and then Garou.

Seeing how the Beast King toyed with Garou as if he were a re ant sent shivers down their spines. If a strong youth like Garou was no match against Kael, then they were probably smaller than ants in his eyes.

However, beastn naturally needed a powerful leader to control them, and though Grishaw was the strongest eagle beastman that commanded the sky, he was average compared to the rest of the generals in the court.

"We should wait until Sir Vestor recovers. For now, we need to maintain order and—"

"General Grishaw! General!"

The loud voice of a soldier as he slamd the door open broke the solemn atmosphere in the throne room.

The soldier panicked as he reported, "General, there is a battalion of fully armored human soldiers at the kingdom’s gate! They are ready with their weapons!"

There was a mont of pause as the soldier drew his breath. Grishaw had an ominous feeling about it, as if he already knew that things could get much worse.

"And they are waging war against us!"
