Afterward, she pulled Ores aside and asked her several questions, such as which school she is attending, whether she would consider a career in the band in the future, and what grade she is currently in, among others.
"Thank you, but my family has already made arrangents, so I'm afraid I can't accept your offer," Ores replied proficiently.
"I was presumptuous," the manager realized, understanding that this elf girl probably cos from a notable family and that this job was rely an experience of life for her.
With that in mind, she no longer disturbed Ores and turned her attention to the other three mbers.
The second to perform was Yianqing, surprisingly playing to a standard that was neither particularly outstanding nor poor.
In response, the manager gave a slight nod and then called the next person.
Compared to Yianqing, Blanchi went all out. The clarinet was the only instrunt she knew, which she learned after entering university, but fortunately, she practiced diligently and barely t the ensemble requirents.
"Finally, it's Miss Dantalion's turn." Compared to the others, Ms. Dantalion, who sat quietly and patiently by the side, appeared very composed, which sowhat pleased the manager.
Then Tilan positioned her cello, sat on the chair, and began to play. Her performance was above average but not stunning, lacking the impact that Ores had brought.
"Very good, Miss Dantalion," the manager nodded in satisfaction.
"All four of you qualify. Here is the sheet music, familiarize yourselves with it first. Feel free to rehearse with others in the room, and later in the afternoon, I'll incorporate you into the band for a group rehearsal."
"Okay," the four agreed and then the manager said a few things to other people in the room before returning to the concert hall.
After she left, the four sat down together again and quietly started conversing.
"Ores is really foolish to perform with all her strength at this ti," Yianqing discussed the earlier situation.
"Why criticize , your performance just now, intentionally playing so poorly, didn't even fit the character," Ores retorted.
Everyone knew Yianqing's real level, and it certainly wasn't as she just perford.
"Perform ordinary work ordinarily; standing out too much can attract trouble," Yianqing shared her thoughts.
"I naturally love to be like this, and why should I fear trouble? They should be the ones afraid of offending ," Ores countered.
"Alright, alright," Blanchi sighed, attempting to diate. It seed like a task and working ti, and arguing like this wasn't ideal.
Perhaps the different upbringing led to their differing values and temperants. Seeing them starting to argue again, Tilan suddenly thought about this issue.
"People around are starting to notice us," she said, and the arguing duo imdiately stopped.
Seeing this thod effective, Tilan breathed a sigh of relief, then pulled Ores to her side, gave Yianqing a slight nod, and separated the two.
"Let's practice first, it's rare to have a chance to experience working,"
The three did not object this ti and took out their instrunts to start familiarizing themselves.
Although there had been an argunt earlier, both Ores and Yianqing had indeed changed quite a bit. Ores lowered so of her abilities during the practice, and Yianqing no longer deliberately hid her skills, showing a much improved level.
Ti slowly passed, and during this period, other people in the room occasionally glanced over at the four individuals. After all, even if disguised, three of them were exceptionally beautiful. Even though Blanchi was slightly less impressive, she was still a very pretty girl among ordinary people.
As such, close to noon, three male students practicing in the sa room ca over.
"Hello, would you like to join us for lunch? I know where the cafeteria is," the leading boy said in casual blazer, good-looking and very familiar.
Among the four, Ores clearly looked down upon these three n with ulterior motives, but she turned her face away because she didn't want to make things awkward as Tilan was nearby. Blanchi didn't particularly care; had she been alone, she might have agreed, but since they were together, she would follow the others' opinions.
Shui Yanqing blinked her eyes and then spoke up.
"Could you tell us where the cafeteria is? We don't want to trouble you too much."
"Uh, sure." Seeing that they didn't agree imdiately, the leading boy was taken aback, but quickly recovered.
"I'll show it to you on my personal terminal." He took out his personal terminal and projected the location.
"With identity verification, you can eat for free, this hotel is very generous," he said, moving his personal terminal closer to Shui Yanqing.
In response, Shui Yanqing subtly stepped back half a step, still smiling and nodding her head to express her thanks.
"Why don't we go together? It's on the way anyway." He invited again, and the two boys behind him echoed the sentint, their gazes unable to shift from Ores.
Today, Ores was wearing a silver-red dress, her fair shoulders and collarbone exposed, strikingly attractive.
"No need, thank you." Tilan placed a hand lightly on Ores' shoulder and stood up, positioning herself in front of her.
The three boys wanted to say sothing more, but with Tilan shaking her head again without responding, they begrudgingly left.
After waiting in the room for a few minutes, the four then left for the cafeteria the boy had ntioned.
"So annoying, if it weren't for..." As soon as they ca out, Ores couldn't help but speak, itching to have burst out if Tilan hadn't held her back.
"With that outfit you're wearing, didn't you expect this kind of reaction? If you dislike attention, then dress more conservatively. You're not really a princess, nor should everyone have to cater to your feelings every day," Shui Yanqing retorted sharply.
"Ahem, Yanqing, that was a bit harsh," Tilan intervened between them.
Realizing she might have gone too far, Shui Yanqing turned her head away. Although she often criticized Ores, she usually wasn't this aggressive, as she cared about her own image as well.
"I'm indeed not a real princess, after all, this isn't the ancient tis; there are no princesses anymore, but if you dare speak like that in front of again, I won't mind showing you what being a princess is like," Ores' eyebrows shot up, a statent that particularly frightened Blanchi nearby.
Afterward, the four entered a state of silence, heading to the restaurant without a word.
Sigh, it's only their first day out working together, and already it's co to this, Tilan thought silently.
In school, there was only studying and playing, rarely any direct conflicts. But now, working on serious matters, the different personalities and values imdiately clashed like fire and water.
No wonder the teacher said that practice tests the truth. Just diating between these two was so difficult; managing the conflicts across the whole Federation would be like trying to ascend to heaven. Tilan couldn't help feeling sowhat disillusioned about her future aspirations.
