Chapter 10: The Girl and Mystic Arts

I carefully examined the three bottles of Blue Light in my hand, then placed them carefully aside, and imdiately picked up the remaining leftover portion.

After a brief hesitation, I prepared to see how strong the dicinal effect of Blue Light was, and at the sa ti, try out that mystic art which was also for healing.

“Let’s try the potion first.”

I placed the potion to one side, then turned around and picked up a small kitchen knife.

To test the dicinal effect, naturally, I had to get injured first.

The hand of the girl holding the knife trembled slightly, the blade glinting with a cold light under the sun.

She took a deep breath, then spread her left palm open, the tip of the knife gently pressing against the skin of her palm.

“Huu——”

The sharp blade cut across the skin, and blood imdiately gushed from the wound, a sensation of pain followed, causing to involuntarily suck in a breath of cold air.

The wound was neither deep nor shallow, beads of blood slowly flowed along the lines of my palm, dripping into the sink.

I picked up the bottle of leftover portion with my right hand, bit open the cork, and the potion emitted a faint, fresh fragrance.

“Is this.... for external application or to be taken orally?”

I thought for a mont, it seed like the formula didn't ntion the thod of using the potion.

Generally speaking, this kind of thing seems to be taken orally.

But thinking about the components of the potion, in the end, I still chose to pour it onto the wound.

The mont the blue liquid ca into contact with the flesh and blood, a cooling sensation imdiately spread, as if a piece of ice had slid across it, the skin around the wound glowed faintly, emitting a pale blue light.

“Hiss.... so cold....”

I stared at my palm, watching the wound heal at a speed visible to the naked eye.

First, the blood coagulated, then new flesh granulated to fill the wound, and finally, the epidermis grew back.

The entire process took less than a few seconds, not even leaving a scar.

“Better than I imagined....”

I flexed my palm, apart from a lingering trace of coolness, I couldn't feel that I had just been injured at all.

Thus, I picked up the small knife once again.

“Next, let’s try mystic art....”

I closed my eyes, recalling the knowledge gained that night, then moved the small knife to the palm of my right hand, this ti cutting a little deeper.

“Pff——”

The blade pierced in, then cut across without rcy.

A large amount of blood imdiately gushed from the deeper wound, the pain was more intense than before, making unable to hold back a muffled groan.

“Ugh....”

I gritted my teeth against the pain, tremblingly raised my left hand, covered the wound with it, and closed my eyes to start chanting the incantation.

Those strange yet familiar words flowed from my mouth, like an ancient poem.

As the incantation was recited, I felt as if sothing inside my body was burning, diminishing.

Just like coal releasing heat after being ignited, a warm energy surged from within my body, flowing through my left hand and into the wound.

This feeling was completely different from the coolness of the potion, more like being enveloped in warm sunlight.

When I opened my eyes, the wound on my right hand had also disappeared, but I could clearly feel that I seed to have weakened a little.

“So that’s how it is....”

I looked at my hands thoughtfully, one hand had been healed by the potion, the other by the mystic art.

Both thods had their pros and cons, but their effects were about the sa, it was just that because the wound on my right hand was deeper, the ntal energy consud was slightly more.

“Mystic arts don't consu materials, but they do consu....”

I paused, and then a strange word suddenly appeared in my mind.

(Quintessence)

Quintessence... is that the energy that was just consud?

It seems Bishop Oliver ntioned it before, that Moonlit Grass helps to restore Quintessence.

I closed my eyes, trying to feel that peculiar power within my body.

As the girl’s consciousness gradually settled, a subtle feeling slowly erged.

It was like being able to see faint starlight in the darkness, or being able to touch a flowing stream of water.

“In my current state, I can probably use it five tis in a row, and then I’ll need at least three hours of rest to recover.”

I opened my eyes, as if having confird sothing, and muttered to myself.

Afterward, I washed the blood from the sink, carefully put away the remaining three bottles of Blue Light, and took out the lunch Veronica had prepared to enjoy.

After finishing a whole bacon sandwich, the girl licked the corner of her mouth lightly and began to think about what to do in the afternoon.

“I rember.... in Jessica's mory, there was also a part about a certain secret gathering.”

I leaned on the windowsill, watching the bustling crowd below while digging out the mory from the depths of my mind.

That so-called secret gathering was actually a trading event similar in nature to a black market.

It was generally hosted by a believer of (Order) who acted as a middleman for the entire gathering, while others would present the items they wanted to sell and the things they needed at this gathering.

I still knew the address of the gathering, it was in a certain block about a kiloter away from my ho.

According to Jessica's mory, the last ti she attended the gathering, a man seed to have expressed a desire to buy a healing potion or a healing mystic art.

But at that ti, Jessica had not obtained the knowledge of the mystic art or the potion's formula, so she made a verbal agreent with the other party that she would bring it to him at the next gathering.

But now it seed, she was probably going to break her promise.

“A gathering, huh....”

I muttered softly, Should I go and take a look?

With a believer of Order as the middleman, there shouldn't be any danger right?

But you can never be sure about this kind of thing.

What if?

The girl was a bit conflicted, her fingers endlessly twirling a strand of silver hair.

“Maybe I should just go and ask Bishop Oliver.”

The mont this idea popped up, I was already on my way, walking towards the door.

When in doubt, Bishop Oliver.

Sunlight scattered on the stone-paved road, pedestrians ca and went in a bustling stream, the cries of vendors ca continuously from both sides, mixed with the rumbling of carriage wheels.

I walked towards the church along the familiar street, and upon seeing the familiar church spire appear in my field of vision, the girl couldn't help but quicken her pace a little.

There were not many people in the church at this ti, only a few priests were praying.

When they noticed soone coming in, they subconsciously glanced at , then continued with their prayers.

The girl found a seat and sat down, patiently waiting for Sister Irene's arrival.

But this ti she didn't get to wait for Irene, instead, it was Oliver who walked over from the back hall first.

“Ah, we et again, Miss l.”

A kind smile appeared on Bishop Oliver’s face, “Do you have new questions?”

“Mm, are you free?”

I nodded lightly, rising from the chair.

“Of course, clarifying doubts for every believer is also one of the duties of a bishop.”

Oliver nodded slightly, then turned and walked in a familiar direction.

“Co with .”
