"Dudu, I need to refine so simple, ordinary healing pills. Fetch so herbs and keep an eye outside. If anyone cos, notify ," Dugu Qianye instructed.

In the blink of an eye, a day passed, and quite a number of elixirs had accumulated beside Dugu Qianye.

By evening, people had returned in an steady stream, many injured. Dugu Qianye distributed the elixirs she had refined during the day to them. Holding the elixirs in their hands, everyone once again marveled that they had followed the right leader.

After a night’s rest and with the aid of the elixirs, everyone’s injuries had almost healed completely. The next morning, they set out again, full of vigor, to engage the Phantom Beasts of Cangmang Mountain, returning wounded in the evening. Day after day, for a whole month, everyone’s strength visibly grew.

One morning, before everyone left, Dugu Qianye gave a simple motivational speech.

"These past days, everyone has been training hard, and I haven’t seen anyone back down. You are all doing great! Now, as your combat abilities have greatly improved, the difficulty of your training will increase. All six teams will go out together," Dugu Qianye said. "Xiaoyin, Liehuo, Xiaojiu, follow them. Sa rules as always, no intervention until the very last mont."

Once, the group led by He Yan encountered a Divine Beast, and it was Xiaoyin who saved them. Everyone then understood that Dugu Qianye’s Divine Beasts had been there to protect them. Afterward, she let them go out with the teams directly. Knowing that Divine Beasts were protecting them and that their lives weren’t in danger, it seed that no one minded getting injured, and without fear, their training beca even more effective.

"Lady Xiaoyin, where are we headed?"

As Xiaoyin led everyone around the mountain, they beca utterly confused, and soone couldn’t help but ask.

"What’s the hurry? There’ll be Phantom Beasts for you to fight," Xiaoyin said eerily.

The person, whose thoughts had been seen through, chuckled mischievously. They had grown to love this style of combat training; each of them had beco a lover of war, and they would feel uncomfortable day without a good fight—a developnt Dugu Qianye had not anticipated.

"Alright, this is the place," Xiaoyin announced upon reaching a clearing.

"Here?"

The group looked around in confusion. The clearing was an open space, where Phantom Beasts usually wouldn’t linger. Could there really be Phantom Beasts here? Xiaoyin, unconcerned by their doubts, retracted her imposing aura and lay down on a large rock to nap.

"So we just wait like this?" soone asked weakly after waiting a while.

"Let’s wait. If Qianye had Lady Xiaoyin bring us here, she must have her reasons," He Yan said.

No sooner had he finished speaking than everyone noticed rustling sounds coming from the surrounding bushes, and they excitedly realized they were surrounded by Phantom Beasts.

"Damn, so many Phantom Beasts, enough for us to practice on!" the first person to speak remarked.

The others were equally thrilled. However, an hour into the battle, they found that instead of decreasing, the number of Phantom Beasts was growing, and everyone began to feel the strain. Half an hour later, many were exhausted and the number of injured began to rise.

Another half-hour passed, and now everyone was wounded, while the number of Phantom Beasts continued to grow. At this mont, Xiaoyin, who had been lying on the rock, opened her eyes and fully released the Divine Beast’s imposing aura, rescuing everyone.

All the remaining Phantom Beasts left at Xiaoyin’s signal. Everyone watched the Phantom Beasts leave and then collapsed on the ground, motionless. He Yan and Ye Canglan, among others, struggled to consu Healing Pills, and after a while, went to assist others in taking their dicine.

Xiaoyin lay there without hurrying them to leave. When everyone seed to have rested enough, Xiaoyin asked, "So, who’s going to make lunch now? Hey, with so many Phantom Beasts, let’s just have barbecue."

Barbecue now? Everyone looked at each other, unable to comprehend.

"Lord Xiaoyin, we don’t have the tools for barbecuing," He Yan said. He knew that Dugu Qianye had spoiled Xiaoyin’s palate—she wouldn’t eat anything barbecued over an open fla or anything that didn’t taste good.

Upon hearing He Yan’s words, Xiaoyin took out professional barbecuing tools—grills, brushes, skewers, and seasonings, all in full set—from a pendant hanging on its chest. This pendant was a space container refined for each Beast by Dugu Qianye after she had gained the ability to refine space; it carried so commonly used items, including barbecuing tools.

The group watched as Xiaoyin calmly took out the tools, concerned whether anything was missing. Their jaws nearly dropped to the ground. Although students admitted to Empire College usually ca from better backgrounds and had seen more than average people, nobody had seen a Phantom Beast using a space container before. Soone thought to themselves, these days even Phantom Beasts are using space containers—really, those who follow Dugu Qianye get to eat at!

Upon closer inspection, the group noticed that the grills and skewers were all Spiritual Artifacts, quite the generous display! Using Spiritual Artifacts for barbecuing, could that make the at taste better? They couldn’t help but wildly speculate.

"Hurry up with the food. You guys have walked and fought for so long; aren’t you hungry?" Xiaoyin urged, "If you don’t eat up, you won’t have the strength to fight the Phantom Beasts this afternoon!"

"Ah, there’s more in the afternoon?!" soone cried out.

"What’s with all the yelling? Yelling won’t help!" Xiaoyin said mischievously, "If you don’t make the at tasty enough, this afternoon’s Phantom Beasts will be more nurous and of higher levels!"

"Eh, Lord Xiaoyin, are you threatening us?"

"Not allowed?" Xiaoyin asked.

"No, no!" everyone quickly responded.

Xiaoyin seed innocent, but those who had been around it for a few months knew its true nature—beneath that innocence was a definite penchant for mischief. In these past months, there had been countless tis they were tricked by it.

"Lord Xiaoyin, did you call all those Phantom Beasts here?"

"Kind of." Xiaoyin watched everyone washing and skewering the at, answering casually. The night before, its master had given it a bunch of Love Blossom Fruits, telling it to find an open space to take out the fruits. The Phantom Beasts had co attracted by the scent. Of course, it had no plans to tell them that.

In the afternoon, Xiaoyin took them to a different location. It took out the Love Blossom Fruit, and soon, they were surrounded by Phantom Beasts again. Thus, they started another round of ferocious fighting.

After half a month like this, the Phantom Beasts in the eastern section of Cangmang Mountain knew that this group of people had arrived, who killed without hesitation. The ones who could, fled to other places to hide. This forced the students of the college to find further places to fight.

"Starting from today, you don’t have to undergo such intense training. Now, go find Advance Level Holy Beasts to battle. Don’t kill them—bring them back to ta them, and they’ll beco your Phantom Beasts. Of course, if you can bring back a Divine Beast, that would be even better," Dugu Qianye instructed.

They had their doubts about Dugu Qianye’s orders, but they still took them seriously. One by one, the Holy Beasts were brought back, which Dugu Qianye tad on the spot for them to contract. Seeing Dugu Qianye ta a Holy Beast in less than fifteen minutes, everyone’s jaws, except those from the Mo Family, almost hit the floor.
