So of the spiritual beasts had already ford a contract with Dugu Qianye before, and now only a small portion remained. Concerned about taking too long and attracting attention, Dugu Qianye said, "Then you all co together."
Thus, the remaining spiritual beasts collectively pledged allegiance to Dugu Qianye. When Dugu Qianye had taken the last spiritual beast into the Refining Demon Pot, she flashed in herself.
"Sister, how are you?" Xiaohuo ca to Dugu Qianye’s side and asked.
"Almost lost it. I need to go adjust a bit," Dugu Qianye said, then retreated to her room.
Having just ford contracts with so many advance level spiritual beasts, Dugu Qianye had narrowly avoided advancing in level within the stone prison. If she had, it would have been a suicidal move!
She suppressed all the energy she acquired from the contracts and had Dandan swallow it. There were no natural laws here, allowing her to do so, but once she left, she would still advance in level. The only solution was to do as she had done previously in the Phantom Sea Domain, let Dandan hold onto it until she needed him to release it.
After transferring all the energy into Dandan’s body, Dugu Qianye stepped outside her room to find a dense crowd of spiritual beasts. She waved her hand, causing them all to assu human forms.
The spiritual fox and other newly contracted spiritual beasts initially harbored a sense of superiority, feeling that although they had submitted to her, it was out of compulsion, and they were still getting the better deal! However, upon arriving in the Refining Demon Pot and seeing so many spiritual beasts, auspicious creatures, and even two of the four Divine Beasts, the Vermilion Bird and Azure Dragon, they realized they were the ones who had indeed benefited.
"Master," a thousand advance level spiritual beasts kneeled in submission before Dugu Qianye.
Dugu Qianye gestured for them to rise, her spiritual beasts never needed to kneel to her!
"Master, how did you co to be here?" The transford spiritual fox was a petite and innocent-looking woman, quite different from the typically seductive fox.
"I ca in search of the Gold Spiritual Bead," said Dugu Qianye, and then recounted the situation about the Gold Spiritual Bead and her own ventures into the restricted area, before asking the spiritual fox, "Has Yong Xing co to the restricted area to see you?"
The spiritual fox shook her head and said, "No, in the thousand years I’ve been imprisoned here, aside from Chaos bringing in new spiritual beasts each ti, I haven’t seen nor t Yong Xing."
"Isn’t this the place we co to right after entering the restricted area?"
"No, after we, the spiritual beasts, were imprisoned here, no one bothered with us anymore. Although, sounds of forging often co from the back," replied the spiritual fox.
"Forging sounds? Do you know what it is?" Dugu Qianye asked.
The spiritual fox shook her head and said, "It should be artifact refining, but I am unsure of the specifics."
At that mont, a short-statured man approached and said, "Master, this isn’t the greatest secret of the restricted area."
"Little White Mouse, do you know?" the Spiritual Fox asked the man.
The Little White Mouse nodded and said, "Although I’m trapped here, we Divine Mice can communicate with other mice. A little mouse once told that behind the walls, dozens of ters thick from us, many people are refining artifacts. Over the years, they’ve been crafting an existence that surpasses even Super Divine Artifacts! Yong Xing probably ca here to check on that."
"Artifact Refining?!" Dugu Qianye exclaid in surprise. Did the Refiners Sect need to be so secretive about their artifact refining? "Do you know what they are crafting?"
The Little White Mouse shook its head and said, "They only told that they were refining artifacts. Since I am imprisoned, I don’t care what they are making, so I didn’t ask. But I can call them to ask."
Dugu Qianye nodded and asked everyone to wait there; she and the Little White Mouse left the Refining Demon Pot together.
The Little White Mouse glanced at Dugu Qianye and then started squeaking. Shortly after, a tiny head popped out from the corner of the stone cell. Seeing the empty cell, its round eyes blinked vigorously. Spotting the Little White Mouse standing in the middle, it scurried over.
"My lord, have you been released?" Little Huihui ca to the Little White Mouse’s side and rubbed against his foot.
The Little White Mouse picked up Little Huihui and said, "Little Huihui, I have indeed co out. This is my master, and she has so questions for you. Speak whatever you know."
Little Huihui nodded its head, standing on the Little White Mouse’s hand and patting it with its front paws, saying, "My lord’s master, go ahead and ask. Little Huihui has always lived here. I’ve tunneled through the underground, and there’s nothing I don’t know!"
"Do you know how many stone chambers there are in this forbidden place?" Dugu Qianye asked.
Little Huihui thought for a mont and said, "I don’t know exactly how many there are, but there are definitely more than it seems from the peaks above ground."
"What about the main ones?" Dugu Qianye continued to ask.
"The main ones are this place and the artifact refining chamber up front! This place holds many Spiritual Beasts. The other chamber is underground—I took quite a while to tunnel down and see that last ti! Coming in from the main gate of the forbidden place, you will see a mountain top. Then, not far behind, you’ll see another hole. The front hole leads to the artifact refining chamber, and this hole leads here."
"Have you been inside the artifact refining chamber? Do you know what they’re making?" Dugu Qianye asked.
Little Huihui scratched its little head with a paw and said, "They’ve crafted a lot of weapons! Yes, a lot of weapons. The weapons they craft are all stored in the armory. I snuck in to look; there are so many that they’re nearly filling up the place."
"Is there anything else?" Dugu Qianye asked, then took out a Fire Spirit Pearl and asked, "Have you seen a bead like this one, but gold in color?"
Little Huihui looked at the Fire Spirit Pearl and said, "A gold bead? Bead..." Little Huihui reminisced for a while and said, "Ah, I’ve seen one, a yellow bead in a big cauldron, with a huge fire beneath it. The bead kept rolling inside it!"
Listening to Little Huihui’s description, Dugu Qianye guessed that Yong Xing must be trying to infuse the Gold Spiritual Bead into the Spiritual Artifact they were crafting, which would result in an even more powerful creation.
"Little Huihui, are you sure?" the Little White Mouse asked.
Little Huihui scratched its little head and said, "Well, I only saw it briefly. There are many guards in another tunnel, and I just snuck in for a look. I tunneled down from above, saw nothing special, took a glance, and then ca back. But I am certain that gold Qiuqiu was indeed inside that cauldron."
"Master, what should we do now?" With the whereabouts of the Gold Spiritual Bead confird and the situation looking so bleak, they must move quickly to retrieve it.
