The others in the room held their breath as they watched the two, for fear that even their own breathing would startle them.
The Fla Army was surprised to find that Dugu Qianye possessed Chaotic Power. Most of their attention had been focused on Yong Xing’s actions, and they didn’t know much about Dugu Qianye.
Everyone looked at Little Douzi’s pained expression with a touch of heartache. Though Little Douzi never seed to grow up, everyone in the Nine Heavens liked him, feeling pity for him. Seeing him suffer in silence every day, everyone hoped his illness would be cured soon.
As Dugu Qianye’s Divine Sense followed the fla through Little Douzi’s body, she found nothing unusual until she reached his heart and suddenly discovered a thin layer of ice. She checked his other organs and was startled to find the sa layer of ice on each of them. She increased the temperature of the fla slightly and saw that Little Douzi’s whole body appeared to be frozen by this ice layer!
"There must be a source!" Dugu Qianye thought as she watched the ice exposed by the fla. She continued to probe Little Douzi’s body and found a small Bing Jing at his Phantom Power Source that opened and closed as if it were sleeping.
Dugu Qianye wanted to get a closer look, but rembering that the fla could not control its own temperature and the Phantom Power Source was a fragile part of the body, she slowly withdrew.
After withdrawing the fla from Little Douzi’s body, Dugu Qianye opened her eyes, took a long breath, and asked the sweat-drenched Little Douzi, "How are you feeling?"
Looking at the tired Dugu Qianye, Little Douzi replied, "I’m okay."
At first, his body did indeed feel as if it were being scorched by fire, unbearably hot. But then, it was as if his body had automatically cooled down, and he no longer felt so uncomfortable.
"Qianye, what’s the situation? Did you figure it out?" Qie Yue asked Dugu Qianye expectantly.
Dugu Qianye nodded, then shook her head. The gesture made Qie Yue and the Fla Army anxious. "What do you an by nodding and then shaking your head? Hey, hey, tell us quickly!"
Zi Xiao poured a glass of water for Dugu Qianye, gave Qie Yue and others a glare, and brought the glass to her lips gently, saying, "Drink so water first."
Having been tense while navigating Little Douzi’s body with her Divine Sense, fearing any slight error that could harm him, she was indeed tired. She took a sip of water with Zi Xiao’s help and said, "Little Douzi’s entire body is wrapped in a layer of ice. It appears that this ice layer has frozen his body, causing it to stop growing."
"Ice layer?" Qie Yue asked in surprise. "How can there be an ice layer in his body?"
"I searched all over his body and found a small Bing Jing at his Phantom Power Source. It seems to have sentient, though it looks like it’s hibernating," Dugu Qianye said after finishing her water. "The fla has just evolved into Divine Fire and isn’t very good at self-control yet. To avoid hurting Little Douzi, I didn’t investigate further."
"Little Douzi, how did that thing get inside your body?" Qie Yue asked.
Little Douzi shook his head and replied, "I don’t know either!"
"Can it be removed?" Zi Xiao looked at Dugu Qianye, full of concern.
"I don’t know yet, I need to check the ancient books," Dugu Qianye said.
"That’s already very good, at least we know the reason," said Little Douzi, noticing the weariness in Dugu Qianye’s eyes. "You’ve suffered a lot, thank you!"
Dugu Qianye smiled and replied, "What’s there to thank for, I haven’t done much! Once I find a thod, I’ll cure it for you." She then looked at Ni Yun and said, "Master, I’ll go rest for a while. We can set off tomorrow."
