"Then you may begin now," Feng Sii took out the Fire Dragon Pill and handed it to Dugu Qianye.
Dugu Qianye received the elixir but did not imdiately administer it to Dugu Yunheng; instead, she drew out a knife as thin as a cicada’s wing, scraped clean all the necrotic flesh from Dugu Yunheng’s wound, and infused so Chaos Qi to envelop his heart. Only then did she feed the Fire Dragon Pill to Dugu Yunheng.
Even this step took over an hour. After she had Dugu Yunheng swallow the Fire Dragon Pill, she observed his condition from the side.
The Snow Cold Pill is an extrely cold elixir, while the Fire Dragon Pill is fierce in nature. The two clashed violently inside Dugu Yunheng’s body, waging a fierce battle. The tornt of being caught between fire and ice probably felt just like this.
Even though Dugu Yunheng was unconscious, he could not help but let out pained groans; large beads of sweat dripped continuously from his face, soon freezing into ice, then lting back into sweat, and finally trickling into his hair.
Feng Sii watched from the side, her eyes brimming with worry and heartache.
As ti passed by the second, Dugu Yunheng sotis awoke from the pain, only to faint again shortly. Dugu Qianye intermittently fed him so elixirs and several tis infused Chaos Qi to shroud his thawed internal organs. After several repetitions and several hours, the effects of the Snow Cold Pill were finally neutralized.
Perhaps because the power of the Fire Dragon Pill had not worn off, Dugu Yunheng’s face turned bright red, as if the Fire Dragon Pill was still burning inside him. Dugu Qianye then administered a few more elixirs to him.
Only after his body temperature slowly decreased did she give him healing elixirs. After completing this, Dugu Qianye brought out a large tub filled with hot water mixed with various herbs that darkened it considerably.
"Great-grandmother, let great-grandfather soak in here for two hours. Call when the water turns clear," said Dugu Qianye, then joined Dugu Yilan to visit a stone hut.
"Your actions are very skilled; have you saved many people before?" Dugu Yilan thought about Dugu Qianye’s treatnt process, how there was no fear or panic, even when she faced grueso wounds, her expression never changed as she cut away the rotten flesh. A normal woman might have been sick to her stomach.
"No, only Youwu Grandfather and guards from the Mo Family," Dugu Qianye said. She wasn’t so life-saving pharmacist!
Using this ti, Dugu Qianye learned so family matters from Dugu Yilan.
"Why haven’t I seen Grandfather and my Uncles?" Dugu Qianye asked.
"There was a gathering of the Hidden World Family for the Nangong Clan, and your grandparents went. The other uncles are all outside and will be back in a few days."
What will their reaction be when they see her?
Feng Sii stripped off Dugu Yunheng’s clothes, and the sight of his wounds brought back mories of the battle. She lifted him into the tub and wiped down his body, astonished to see his wounds healing rapidly. She called for Dugu Qianye and the others only after the water beca clear.
Upon entering, Dugu Qianye gave Dugu Yunheng another elixir, emptied the tub of water, refilled it with clean water and different herbs, and said, "Let great-grandfather soak again when he wakes up." Seeing Feng Sii’s weary face, she added, "Great-grandmother, why don’t you go and rest for a bit? We can handle it here."
Feng Sii shook her head and said, "I want to be here when he wakes up."
Seeing her determination, Dugu Qianye handed her a pill. "Take this for now to stay alert; I’ll detoxify you once great-grandfather’s condition improves."
Feng Sii swallowed the bitter pill, which instantly revived her spirit and made her feel less exhausted.
"Hmm..."
The faint murmuring sounded like the music of the heavens, and both Feng Sani and Dugu Yilan excitedly gathered around.
"Yunheng, Yunheng."
"Grandfather."
Dugu Yunheng felt as if he had slept for a long ti; his mind was a complete ss, unable to recall anything. Hearing soone calling his na, he struggled to open his eyes, only to see two blurry figures swaying in front of him. Then he heard a voice say, "He has been in a coma for thirty years, and his brain is still in chaos, but he will recover in a while."
Who dares to say his mind wasn’t in good shape?! When he heard the person speaking, Dugu Yunheng was suffused with indignation and wanted to flare up with anger but found he couldn’t even speak. Instead, the effort triggered a backlash in his blood flow, causing further dizziness and disorientation.
"Getting angry upon waking up, tsk tsk, did you want all my hard work to be for nothing?" Seeing Dugu Yunheng about to pass out again, Dugu Qianye quickly administered an elixir for him to consu, muttering to herself.
After taking the elixir, Dugu Yunheng fell asleep once more. Dugu Qianye checked the dicinal ingredients in the tub and said, "Now he can continue to soak in the bath."
This ti, without needing to undress, Dugu Qianye had Dugu Yilan carry Dugu Yunheng into the tub, pulled up two chairs, had Feng Sani sit down, and said, "Great-grandmother, let’s sit and wait. Third Uncle, make sure great-grandfather is well supported; don’t let him fall into the tub."
Never before had a descendant been so affectionate with her, and Feng Sani sat down with the help of Dugu Qianye’s guiding hand, though her gaze never left Dugu Yunheng.
Dugu Yunheng sat in the tub as the elixir, together with the dicinal bath, stimulated his chaotic mind, slowly allowing him to think back and recall mories.
He rembered the great battle, where he was gravely injured. Lying in the room, he thought he was about to die when Feng Sani, with tears in her eyes, said, "Yunheng, take this Snow Cold Pill. Even if it takes years, decades, or centuries, as long as you have a breath in you, I can’t let you go!"
Soon after that, soone ca in and said, "Little Five has been suppressed in the Fla Abyss." Later, soone claid Little Five’s wife was suppressed by the people of the Divine Temple. And thereafter, he knew nothing more.
As the events of the past resurfaced in his mind, clarity returned, and feeling the water around him, he suddenly opened his eyes.
"Yunheng." Feng Sani, seeing that Dugu Yunheng’s gaze was no longer clouded, knew that he was truly awake this ti. She stood up from her chair and approached the tub.
"Grandfather, are you awake?" Dugu Yilan, who had been holding his shoulders, felt him regaining consciousness and let go to move in front of him.
Dugu Yunheng glanced at them and then looked down at the pitch-dark dicinal water, his brows furrowing as mories ca flooding back.
"It’s not yet ti; you can’t get up," Dugu Qianye stood up and said.
It was only then that Dugu Yunheng noticed another person and asked, "Who are you?" His voice was hoarse, not having spoken for a long ti.
"You should not get up before the dicinal water turns clear. As for who I am? You’ve just woken up; there’s no need to know right now, lest it agitates you," Dugu Qianye said with a smirk. After all, she couldn’t very well tell him, ’I’m the girl you wanted to kill all those years ago, right?’
