In the private room of the Secret Pavilion, a young man clad in a purple robe lounged on a chaise longue, his peach blossom eyes slightly narrowed. Upon hearing Qu Yaoyao’s words, his eyes opened briefly before narrowing again as he muttered, "A tied auction? Sounds interesting."
Another youth kept staring at the reclining man: it was indeed interesting, but it would be even better if he were the one lying there.

Finally, the Marrow-Cleansing Pills were auctioned by the Alchemist Guild for a high price of 120 million. Alchemists are rich, everyone knows that, especially the Alchemist Guild. Before heading back, he found a secluded place to let Xiaohuo into the Refining Demon Pot, then he changed his face and clothes and returned to the inn.

After washing up and lying on the soft big bed, Dugu Qianye took out the bead he bought today and asked, "Dandan, how do you absorb this?"
"You hold it in your palm, guide the Chaos Qi into your Dantian just like you do when you cultivate, and leave the rest to ," Dandan said.
Dugu Qianye called out the Divine Beasts to protect him, then sat cross-legged on the bed. With his right hand holding the bead, he tried to sense the Chaos Qi, directing it through his ridians and into his Dantian. Once the Chaos Qi entered the Dantian, it was attracted around Dandan. Soon, Dandan was completely enveloped by the Chaos Qi, feeling as comfortable as a fetus returning to the womb, and began to slowly absorb it.
Three days later, Dandan finally absorbed all the Chaos Qi that enveloped it. During this period, Dugu Qianye had maintained her cultivation state to help Dandan absorb the energy. The newly revealed Dandan looked noticeably larger and much more transparent than before.
After the Chaos Qi was absorbed, Dandan began to feedback its power to Dugu Qianye, and she received that surge of energy. Soon, using that power, she, who had already reached the threshold of the Phantom King, broke through from a level 9 Great Phantom Master to a level 1 Phantom King. Since Dugu Qianye had achieved a breakthrough, Beast also advanced in levels—Xiaohuo to a level 3 Divine Beast, Xiaoyin to a level 2 Divine Beast, Qingluan to a level 8 Divine Beast, and Liehuo to a level 1 Divine Beast.
Dugu Qianye opened her eyes and saw the excited Beasts scrambling around the room. She looked at them amusedly and said, "Rest now, we will start our journey tomorrow."
She then collected the other Beasts into the Refining Demon Pot and went to sleep with Xiaohuo.
The next morning, after checking out from her accommodation, Dugu Qianye found a secluded spot and transford herself into a man, then headed to the rcenary Guild. Since there was still ti before the Empire College’s recruitnt, she planned to check if there were any on-the-way missions and decided to try taking one.
Dugu Qianye arrived at the rcenary Guild and saw a large screen listing many missions, with a woman organizing things below. Dugu Qianye approached her and asked, "Hello, are there any missions going to the Imperial Capital?"
The woman stopped her work, glanced at Dugu Qianye’s rcenary badge, and imdiately recognized it as a Special rcenary Badge. People with such badges generally had extraordinary statuses. She smiled politely at Dugu Qianye and said, "Please wait a mont, I’ll check for you."
A few minutes later, she told Dugu Qianye, "There is a mission to escort the young master and young lady of the Liu Family to Feier City. Although it’s not to the Imperial Capital, Feier City is a necessary transit city from Baishi City to the Imperial Capital. The fee is 2000 Gold Coins. This mission is open to all, as long as one’s level is at least that of a Great Phantom Master." She hesitated for a mont then looked at Dugu Qianye, "Before accepting the mission, we need to verify your Phantom Power level." She was young and unsure if Dugu Qianye t the conditions.
Dugu Qianye suppressed her Phantom Power to the level of a 1st level Great Phantom Master, displaying two moons and a star. Then she said to the woman, "I’ll take this mission."
Although she had thought of Dugu Qianye as a Great Phantom Master, the sight of the moons and stars still surprised the attendant. Woken by Dugu Qianye’s words, she quickly recovered, pressed a few buttons on a large Crystal Card, and swiped the rcenary badge over it.
"All set." The attendant handed Dugu Qianye her rcenary badge with both hands. "The young master and young lady of the Liu Family are departing today and will send soone over at 9 AM. You can go to the resting lounge on the left to rest, where all the rcenaries who have accepted this mission are gathered."
Dugu Qianye nodded, accepted the rcenary badge, thanked the attendant, and went to the resting lounge. Upon entering the room, she saw around twenty rcenaries sitting either in groups of three to five or alone. When Dugu Qianye entered, everyone turned their gaze toward her.
"Hey, little brother, so young and already joining the rcenaries, is your hair all grown yet? Want to show your big brother?" A bulky man ca over teasing her. The group he had been with burst into laughter.
Dugu Qianye glanced at them, found a stool to sit on, and completely ignored the group. Seeing that Dugu Qianye did not react, the man wanted to continue when a woman’s voice ca from behind him: "Hei Shitou, are you still not awake this early in the morning? Why are you bullying others?"
Hei Shitou seed sowhat afraid of the woman, chuckled awkwardly, and said, "Sanni, I was just joking with the little brother." Then he mumbled as he returned to his group.
The woman walked over and sat next to Dugu Qianye, giving a hearty laugh, and said, "Brother, don’t mind him, that’s just his nature, and he ans no harm."
Dugu Qianye nodded, looked at her—she appeared to be in her late twenties, with her hair up, dressed in tight clothes and knee-high boots, giving off a sharp and neat vibe.
"Hey hey, my na is ng Li, and they all call ng Sanni. What’s your na? How co you’re so young and already taking on missions?" ng Sanni asked.
