The base was currently surrounded by guards. Even though Huo Yao was excellent at fighting, she was sorely outnumbered at the mont.
Since she had walked into the base on her own accord, it made no sense to let her go.
Shangguan Hou took a step back and waited for everything to end.
At this mont, a rumbling sound could be heard coming from underground. It was loud, almost like an earthquake and even the walls were vibrating from it.
Everyone was startled by the explosion. They stood where they were and couldn't do anything about Huo Yao for now.
"What happened?" Shangguan Hou frowned.
"Sounds like it's coming from the mountain gate," said the security team chief anxiously as he pressed his mike to ask his n about the cause.
However, his mike failed to work after a long ti.
The connection was cut off.
The security team chief looked up. Just as he was about to speak, the light overhead suddenly went off completely.
The corridor instantly turned pitch black.
They were left with only their other senses and unable to see anything at all.
The expressions on the security team chief's and Shangguan Hou's faces promptly changed. It was a critical mont, but sothing like this happened, so it was clearly not a coincidence.
The two of them looked at Huo Yao in unison.
No one was able to see anything, but the guards closest to Huo Yao fell to the ground one after another.
When Shangguan Hou sensed this, he quickly retreated first.

After giving the order, he finally noticed Shangguan Hou nearby using the wall to support himself. He walked over. "Mr. Shangguan, are you alright?"
A silver needle was stuck on the back of Shangguan Hou's hand. Half a needle was stuck into his body. Although his face looked normal, the skin on his neck and the areas not covered by his clothes had gradually turned purple.
He was clearly poisoned.
The security team chief was startled and did not dare to reach his hand out to support the man. "Poison. It's poison."
Blood was trickling down Shangguan Hou's mouth. His hand trembled as he reached for his pocket to retrieve a bottle. He poured a black pill from it and took it. After taking the pill, he was finally able to breathe easier.
However, the excruciating pain inside his body was still there.
Shangguan Hou wiped the blood off the corner of his mouth. He slowly removed the long silver needle from the back of his hand.
As he looked at the silver needle, he tightened his grip and felt infuriated.
Just one step away from getting her!
At this mont, another explosion could be heard. This ti, it was even stronger.
The mont the -security team chief heard the noise, he pondered and said worriedly, "Soone is blowing up the mountain gate."
The mountain gate was made of an ancient-style chanism. If it was blown up, they would get trapped inside for good.
