In general, the legitimacy of the Starry Territories was not particularly considered within the Layer Abyss.
The advent of Narrative-level civilizations had, to so extent, shattered the dark age of the Gods’ era, when civilizations wantonly looted and attacked each other.
Businesspeople were well aware that when a new blue ocean industry market erged, lacking departntal regulation, everyone scrambled for territory barbarically until operations stabilized and the fervor decreased, only then realizing the need for organizational order.
During the Gods’ era, Narrative-level civilizations were just beginning. The Beyond-Abyss Battleground had not only not fallen but was also demanding resources and population from Within the Abyss. In such a background, various civilizations did not feel anxious due to the invasion of the Destroyer, but rather fought over the limited shares within the finite cosmos.
For the Layer Abyss, Narrative-level civilizations were born too late; hence, the Abyssal Intergalactic Alliance, led by three narratives, was ford. This interstellar organization was clearly not sothing considered perfect, but at least it could barely maintain the current order.
Particularly when it ca to issues of planetary sovereignty, the Interstellar Alliance actually made for a good diating party.
Unfortunately, this had nothing to do with the Crystal Tower, which had not joined the interstellar organization, but what Li Aozi wanted was a planet with sovereignty recognized by the interstellar community.
In this world, isolated individuals and those who abandon mainstream ideologies were not necessarily wrong but were definitely prone to suffering and straying off the path.
Since he had decided to buy the planet, it would be better to go all the way by applying for mbership in the Interstellar Alliance.
Li Aozi hoped to use his own way, using Baizhu Star as a springboard to send players into the cosmic universe; only this way could he maximize his benefits.
It could be said that the geographical position of Baizhu Star was not too bad, not in the core hinterland of the Crystal Tower. After all, the Crystal Tower Civilization was not foolish and was naturally mindful to let go. They certainly wouldn’t release important planetary territories.
Purchasing a planet didn’t require any special qualifications; having money, gaining the recognition of the Crystal Tower, and promising to sign a 3,000-year peace treaty, these were not issues. After all, Li Aozi was quite familiar with Dean Nastisha and often negotiated using her student status.
The real trouble lay in how to get recognition from the Interstellar Alliance.
The full na of the Interstellar Alliance was "Layer Abyss Civilization Cross-Interstellar Comprehensive Alliance Organization," essentially an NGO. According to its charter, there were five necessary conditions for accepting mber nations:
(1) The applicant must be a civilization; at least reaching the level of interstellar navigation, able to independently traverse beyond their own star system.
The civilization must at least be one without disputes over sovereignty and with clear inheritance relations.
(2) Love peace; this was self-explanatory. Li Aozi felt he was not just a peace lover but a diation expert.
(3) Accept the obligations of the "Charter";
This mainly referred to attitudes towards the Secret Society, prohibiting research on related knowledge, harboring its citizens, possessing self-aware institutions, or assisting its invasions of other civilizations under the guise of military actions. Any encounter with the Secret Society must be imdiately reported.
(4) Be capable of fulfilling these obligations;
(5) Be willing to fulfill these obligations;
(6) Pay mbership fees on ti;
(7) Must dispatch a permanent director and spokesperson to the headquarters of the Interstellar Alliance to report abnormal phenona and Secret Society attacks in a tily manner.
Besides that, a multitude of certifications and reviews were indispensable, Li Aozi needed to prove that his planet had no relation to the Secret Society and at least had no research on such knowledge and technology.
This was quite troubleso; Interstellar Alliance officials ca seven tis, urging Li Aozi to spend a fortune cleaning and removing all remnants of the chanical World Society.
Fortunately, he had already sold the Holy Son Core, making a profit while clearing his suspicions.
According to reason, having defeated Mashigang, Li Aozi’s identity was still thoroughly rooted as a citizen of the Starry Abyss. He never left the Starry Abyss, being a mber of the Elyei Spirit Race, a branch of the Obliteration Sanctum, should have made it very easy.
However, the actual situation was not optimistic; Baizhu Star had been visited by more than just the chanical World Society.
Counting Yawen, three Senators from the Secret Society had co sequentially. Li Aozi had to take the effort to find and remove those secret strongholds and council remnants that had been abandoned for thousands of years.
This took him quite a long ti.
Beyond the initial visits, he spent quite a bit of money to communicate with Narrative-level civilizations, including interactions with so high officials.
But when Li Aozi opened the auction website, seeing all the indicators passed and the information complete, he nodded in contentnt.
Everything was worth it.
The auction was about to start in a few minutes. Li Aozi sat in his office, gently tapping the table, while checking the auction list.
The auction was organized by the Planetary Resources Bureau of the Crystal Tower Civilization, offering not just Baizhu Star but also hundreds of planets that had undergone preliminary colonial modifications or had only primitive ecosystems.
Li Aozi scanned around; the Planetary Resources Bureau didn’t advertise much, inviting only so scholarly factions and renowned large workshop masters, akin to Azure Star’s tycoons and industrialists, mainly prepared for their own people.
"Thousand Vines Pharmaceuticals, Illusion Demon Light Rail, Stone Carving Weapons...all high-tech syndicates or heavy industrial tolaras, workshop masters are all alumni from prestigious schools of the Crystal Tower’s mother star. Essentially, this auction was an internal handling—seems like the Crystal Tower is still wary of outsiders."
He checked the information for several planets. Though many planets’ ecological diversity stopped at paracium, so had good developnt with green plants and carbon-based animal herds, with so even reaching dieval civilization levels with both technological and magical civilizations.
The Crystal Tower Civilization had no humanitarianism towards these native planets that had not left their mother stars, or even entered the Industrial Era.
Despite having their own language and writing, social systems, understanding art, and recording history, in the scope of the cosmos, they were still at the level of ’Ancient Apes.’ Their only function was adding a note in the introduction stating "inhabited by natives, intelligence qualified, transformable for labor," thus selling for a few thousand more ammonium gold.
If they couldn’t even reach the level of feudal kingdoms and were still tribal chiefdoms, they might appreciate only a few thousand ammonium gold at most. Even so, many buyers’ comnts lanted the high costs.
A few thousand ammonium gold, in the universe, was the appearance fee of a Zeta Rank rcenary for a week, enough to buy millions of carbon-based lifeforms with their own language, culture, and rich history, capable of forging plate armor and matchlock guns.
Unfortunately, such was the standard of the universe.
Li Aozi actually noted several planets with good racial talents, better at least than the Azure Star’s New Generation Homo sapiens, so even knowing a bit of magic.
But he didn’t have enough money for other planets.
He looked at today’s target: Baizhu Star, saved for the grand finale.
The estimated price was about 80 million ammonium gold, whereas any savvy person knew that a planet regressed to the atomic age being sold at such a price was exorbitant.
Before that, rton Star, with five billion people, engaging in a space race with a nuclear arsenal of at least five or six thousand warheads, only sold for 20 million, including complentary magical fortress facilities.
Baizhu Star was not much better than rton Star, its upper limit restricted to Zeta Rank, yet the price was quadrupled.
"This price is a bit risky..."
Li Aozi squinted.
"It seems the Crystal Tower wants to take one last bite."
