Galactic Era, 221, January 15

Azure Star, Red Arrow Empire, Erga City, Erga Coast.

As the southernmost city of the Empire, Erga was considered a rising star. The Empire’s soldiers liberated the city in 154, driving the Frost Plated People to the other side of the strait.

Since then, Frost Plated had no chance to challenge the Red Arrow. With natural barriers, it no longer posed a threat to the capital of Red Arrow.

For the Empire’s aggressive expansion model, if the war did not achieve its goal, the occupation of cities was called liberation; conquering a nation was called conquest.

Apart from being militarily separated from Frost Plated by the sea, Erga, located at the southernmost end of the Empire, might have contributed to Red Arrow the most by changing the lyrics of the national anthem. After that, there were no other well-known aspects.

The reason was simple: Erga had no significant resources. Surrounded by mountains, it was unsuitable for transportation developnt. Azure Star had no oceans, making port developnt impossible.

However, as a small city with only 700,000 people, Erga amazingly had two universities, built during the Frost Plated period.

The Empire’s attitude towards here was generally indifferent. Due to the high number of Frost Plated Descendants, they first established an autonomous state, granting the locals a high degree of autonomy.

Nevertheless, although nominally a territory of Red Arrow, the area severely lacked industry and enterprises. To this day, the agricultural population of Erga City was as high as 67%, and Red Arrow’s low social security left these people in a state of insecurity and poverty.

Leisurely, lazy, backward, was the true depiction of Erga.

No one cared about the news in this city. Even on the internet, few people knew that the southernmost part of the Empire housed such an unremarkable small town.

However, all of this permanently changed today.

Kadan Foliqi, 34 years old, was an honest farr in Erga. Being a farr in the Empire’s frontier was definitely not a happy thing. The land itself was not very fertile and lacked capitalized group operations. The crops had no food processing plants for further processing and could only be sold at extrely low prices.

"Good morning, another lousy morning."

Living alone, Kadan was not optimistic about his job. Next, he would drive the tractor, haul hay bales, and eat coarse salt biscuits and cheap wheat soda on his way to the city to deliver goods. He could stroll in the almost entertainless city for an hour, but only an hour, then return to the farm to continue working.

This kind of life remained the sa every year, with no changes ever. It would never change.

The farm’s helpers seed to have disappeared. They were supposed to start working at this ti. Kadan walked around but saw no one. He turned on his personal terminal, but it showed no signal.

"Damn operators, I knew their new base station was unreliable!"

Kadan was helpless. Without the internet, work would beco even more boring. For the highly chanized Red Arrow Farm, whether it was drones spraying pesticides or automated tools, they all required internet access to use.

The Red Arrow Empire’s high reliance on chanized technology indeed benefited most people, but for those in such remote areas, it was not very friendly.

Luckily, Kadan didn’t mind doing the work himself. He planned to drive the tractor to the market to buy breakfast, contact the manufacturer for repairs in an area with a signal. It was truly absurd that newly bought equipnt could not be used within a few days.

The cold radiance of the artificial sun shed on his shoulders. As always, he opened the big door. The warehouse was brightly illuminated, almost palatial in splendor. He habitually sat on the tractor, ready to head to the farmland when he suddenly realized sothing.

— He didn’t even turn on the lights. Why was the warehouse so bright?

Kadan slowly turned his head. A giant white obelisk had risen from the ground, piercing through the warehouse ceiling. Its intricate mysterious patterns were emitting a soft golden glow. The golden light fell like shattered feathers in the air, unlike the Tyndall effect’s hazy feel. This magnificent and fantastic scenery felt very exquisite and delicate, gentle and fresh, full of intimacy.

The old farr Kadan opened his mouth wide, incredulous at what lay before him.

Compared to the hole in his warehouse, he was more astonished by the changes brought by the sacred obelisk. The land near it was being purified inch by inch by the golden feather-like light pieces, turning into crystalline clear crystal.

Unconsciously, he moved closer to the White Obelisk. Subconsciously, he felt he would not be hard and even deeply believed this strange and mysterious spectacle would bring him unique changes.

Kadan stepped forward and reached out to touch the Obelisk.

[You have made the right choice.]

"Who?! Who is speaking?" The sudden voice in his heart startled Kadan.

[Close your eyes and listen quietly.]

Kadan half believed it. He strongly suspected it was the handiwork of the obelisk in front of him, but he had no better idea.

Compared to contacting the Empire’s military and police intelligence agencies, he believed more that this was a divine gift. Since it appeared in his farm, it was his possession, and how to handle it was also his business.

’Could it really be a sacred relic of the deities?’

Kadan wondered.

Although the Red Arrow Empire had advanced technology, it allowed lenient control of religious beliefs. Almost all citizens had their beliefs. As an honest farr, Kadan was no exception. He grabbed the pendant on his neck, silently prayed, then continued to press on the Obelisk, closing his eyes and feeling quietly.

[The starry sky did not yet exist, the chaos had not opened, when the Starry Abyss was born. It perceived the arrival of the Destroyer and summoned six creators from the primitive universe. They respectively mastered the powers of Destruction, Fine Artistry, Sovereign, Redemption, Raiding, and Mysterious. The epochs changed, and now most creators have died, but their Path of Ascension remains forever...]

[Laid before you is the Pathway pioneered by today’s successor of the Sovereign, Li Aozi.]

[A true pathway to Ascend to Godhood.]

At the next mont, Kadan felt an intangible yet warm force surging from the Obelisk into his nerves and bloodline, reaching all the way to his head, to the utmost comfort. His body temperature rose slightly, but he felt more energized.

[I have bestowed upon you a small gift as a reward for your willingness to listen to my teachings.]

Kadan took a few steps back. He vaguely felt sothing, an unknown power spreading within him. He looked at the distant Nurman Brand tractor, 5.4 ters tall, weighing 10.9 tons, a cumberso wild beast.

Kadan raised his hand, golden rings lit up in his eyes, and he lightly beckoned.

The heavy tractor imdiately floated lightly, not just the tractor. Within a five-ter radius centered on him, every object, even himself, floated as though in the cosmic space.

Kadan casually waved his hand. The heavy objects in the area floated up and down freely as he thought. He could lift the tractor with his bare hands or make a feather heavier than iron. The release of such power was not unfamiliar to Kadan, thanks to the Empire’s educational widespread.

Arcane Energy.

Kadan was very sure that what he mastered was the supernatural ability called Arcane Energy.

This thirty-four-year-old farr played for half a day until he flew into the sky and got scared by the height, falling down.

Kadan lay on the hay, looking up at the ruined ceiling, dazed for a few minutes.

Then, he laughed foolishly.

Although he was just a typical farr, he clearly realized that: Erga City would change drastically from today onwards.
