"They are neither from the Goldmans or the Crawfords," Kai said, knowing that it was what Alex would be thinking.
Alex frowned, and his eyes narrowed.
"It’s an unknown group of rookies, but recently, they seem more organized,’ Kai continued. "What are your orders?"
"Find out who they are and who they work for. If they are threatened, eliminate them before they get out of control," Alex said, and Kai nodded his head.
"Alright," he bowed once more. "I will take my leave then," Alex nodded, tapping his fingers on the edge of the study desk. His gaze appeared distant as his thoughts wandered far. Kai didn’t waste any more ti, and in order not to disturb him, he quietly left.
A lot had happened in one day, and he needed a little rest before he continued with his search. As he walked towards his car, his phone dinged with a new ssage. He sighed as soon as he read it. "Course you, Max," he muttered under his breath. "Just when I thought I could rest." letting out another sigh, he started the car engine and drove off.

The next day, after a hearty breakfast, Sara and Alex ca to Amberfell marriage bureau to sign and retrieve the certificate as agreed.
Once inside, Sara realized that they were indeed the only couple at the bureau. It was not surprising since it was the weekend, but what surprised her was the judge who had been waiting for them. His eyes seem to light up after seeing them and a warm smile on his face. His humble disposition also took her off guard, but she was quick to compose herself as she accepted his warm greeting with a smile and a nod of her own.
"Welco, Mr Legend. It is an honor to have you here," the judge said.
Sara was expecting him to say sothing, at least a few words, but he only nodded his head as he led her inside. "Is everything ready at your end?" He asked instead, and she stared at him, wanting to tell him to be more polite, but she realized that maybe he was only warm and patient with her. That thought had her smiling mildly.
"Of course, sir. Everything is ready and only requires your signature. The shares and..." he stopped when Alex suddenly turned and glared at him, imdiately understanding that the lady had no idea about what was being put under her na. She would be signing those along with the marriage license.
Sara noticed their little exchange but shrugged it off. It didn’t matter.
"Bring them to us at once," Alex said, and the judge nodded his head. He signaled to his aide, and the person ca almost imdiately with the already prepared docunts.
The judge opened the docunt and then placed it in front of them. "You just need to sign here and here," he said to Alex.
Alex pulled the docunts towards himself, he then put his signature where he was directed and then passed it back to the judge who then pointed where Sara should put hers beside that of Alex but then there was another which caused a furrow between her brows but she didn’t ask why. She has never signed a marriage certificate before, so she had no idea what should or shouldn’t be signed.
After putting down the first two signatures, she glanced between the judge and Alex. While the judge’s eyes darted towards Alex, Alex held her gaze without even looking at the judge.
"Is there a problem?" He asked. His tone and calm expression had her questioning why she was suspecting foul play.
Sara shook her head. "No, there’s none," she said and went ahead to sign it. She would ask him why later. "Done," she said, smiling as if she had just won sothing priceless. It wasn’t far off as marriage, if it was the right one, it could never have a price tag.
Seeing her triumphant smile like that, Alex was tempted to kiss her there and then. As if she could read his mind, his gaze turned threatening. He chuckled and raised his hands in surrender. Sara pouted but as soon as she rembered where they were. She composed herself again, giving a side glare, which he returned with a smirk.
"Give us a mont to have these processed, Mr and Mrs Legend," the judge said as he and his aide walked to the door behind them.
Once they were gone, Sara turned and faced Alex squarely. He raised a brow at her as if he didn’t know what she was on about.
"Is sothing wrong, Mrs Legend?" He asked playfully. He even pinched her cheek when they ward up. "Hmm? He pressed further.
Sara swatted his hand from her cheek and looked away. She was acting like a child but only because she felt he wouldn’t mind. "Why did I sign more pages than you did? I thought everything was supposed to be the sa. You know...equal?"
Alex took a mont to study her after her question. Realizing it was purely out of curiosity, he smiled. "I thought won had more rights, so they have a lot more to sign into the marriage and..." he chuckled, getting a slap on the arm from Sara.
"What did you have sign, Mr Legend?" she crossed her arms, trying to put on an intimidating front. It was not as if she didn’t see his signature there, but it was not alone. There was another signature, though familiar, she couldn’t quite recall where she had seen that particular signature. It was right beside that of Alex and hers was the only missing one. It didn’t belong to the judge, she was certain of that.
"That you’ll be mine, now and forever," Alex replied in a serious tone although she could see myrth in his eyes. He was teasing her and he was succeeding without even trying. "What? Don’t you believe ?" He leaned towards her while she leaned back. His closeness caused heat to rise up her face.
"Forever is a very long ti, you know," she said although her heart did skip at his words. How nice it was to imagine a forever with soone. With him.
"Are you marrying today to dump one day? Huh, wife?" his tone remained playful but sothing in his gaze shifted Taking a serious turn.
