Sara opened her mouth to speak but couldn’t find the words. Not that she couldn’t believe but because he ant every word. She could see it in his eyes.

But would a wedding still matter if they already have the marriage certificates? She didn’t want to rush it, but what if everything turned out like the last ti? Her and Adam? She knew better than to compare the two n, but she couldn’t help it.

"What do you say? Do we get our certificates now after the wedding?" He asked again.

Sara pressed her lips together as she fought back a smile. It felt nice to be wanted like this. His impatience touched a soft spot inside her.

"Yes, let’s do it," she said with a nod of her head. "Let’s get our certificates," Sara was almost one hundred percent certain thay this was the right decision.

"Are you sure about this?" Alex asked, his tone soft and his tone gentle. He caressed her cheek staring into her eyes.bthere thus glimr in his eyes that told Sara imdiately of his happiness at her reply buybhe still chose to ask her, to confirm if she had thought it through.

"I am," Sara replied. She wound her hands around , burying her face in his chest. She could hear his steady heartbeat, a rhythm that soothed her ears and soul. "Let’s get the certificates tomorrow."

"As you wish," Alex smiled, and also embraced her. His heart swelled at her acceptance. "Thank you," he whispered beside her ear.

Hours later, while Sara was sound asleep, Alex went to the study. He was currently on a video call with Nicholas, who had a pleased and proud smile on his face. He had called after learning of the accident that destroyed Sara’s car, but the frown was turned upside down sooner rather than later.

"That’s my grandson," Nicholas praised. Alex had to admit that he hadn’t seen him so happy in a long ti, and he was glad he was able to put that smile on his face. "When is the wedding? Does her father know about it?" He asked, referring to Jordan Ambrose.

"We are going to the city’s marriage bureau tomorrow to get our certificates. Sars will decide when she wants the wedding, and Uncle Jordan is yet to be inford. Sara, what to go to him before telling, and I don’t want to ruin the surprise," Alex replied, and Nicholas nodded in understanding.

"Bring my granddaughter ho, Alex. I want to et her properly," Nicholas said sternly, but Alex raised a brow.

"Shouldn’t she be your ’granddaughter-in-law’ instead?" He gave Nicholas a suspicious look, and Nicholas chuckled. He waved to his grandson as if that wasn’t important.

"At the end of the day, I still have a ’granddaughter’. It doesn’t matter whether she is an in-law or shares blood with ," Nicholas stated matter of factly.

Alex was unable to refute, which just joined his head. He was right after all.

"Those responsible for the accident, how did you handle them?" He asked , taking the discussion back to where it began, but there was less hostility in his tone now. The goodness from earlier had appeased him a bit but not enough to make him forget.

"Kai is on it. One of them has been apprehended and already in cellars. I would let you know once everything has been taken care of," Alex replied, and Nicholas smiled. As always, he was proud of him and the way his grandson dealt with things. Fast and precise.

"I will let you be now. Take care of her Alexander," he said and saw as Alex nodded before he disconnected.

As soon as the line died, Alex raised his haze to et those of Kai seated opposite him. His expression was serious, and that was all that it took for Alex to know that it was important.

"What happened?" He asked, his expression also taking a serious turn.

"As you already know, Malerie has been taken in," he made a brief paused as he tho8gh of how best to word out the rest. The bad news. His gaze fell, and his to took an apologetic tune. "Jocelyn and her boyfriend escaped. Soone from the Underworld helped them. We are yet to know who help them."

Alex expression darkened. His gaze turned sharp too quickly, and Kai felt dread creep up his spine.

"I will look into it, Alex. Just give so ti. I will give you the answers," he quickly said. No one knew Alex better than he did. Although he was also involved in the care accident, what pricked his anger was the fact that Sara was hurt. Sara was the main target, and she was lucky to be alive. That was the sole reason for his anger and why he so eager to have them behind bars where he would have access to them.

Alex jaws worked as he tried to calm his anger. He knew Kai had done his best, but he just could accept the fact that soone was able to escape. And another even going against him to lend a helping hand to his target. He closed his eyes, drew in a few deep breaths, and slowly opened his eyes. He threw his head back and sighed.

"It’s fine. The chase it was what makes the hunt fun and enjoyable," There was a dark glint on his eyes, and the calculated smirk ford on his lips. "Don’t let anyone leave the city without your knowledge. No matter what ans they use."

"Understood," Kai said. He stood and bowed, ready to leave, when he recalled sothing else. "I have given the bureau a call. They are expecting you and miss Ambrose tomorrow," he said, and Alex nodded. His expression shifted, turning soft at the ntion of Sara and theie marriage registration.

"Anything else?" Alex asked, seeing the hesitation in his eyes.

"There’s a group of individual trying to dig out your information as well as that of Dane Scott. What would have do?" Kai said ans Alex from.

"Who?"
