The second he noticed that, Everlearn took a detour from his path to the dorm room.

After a couple of minutes of walking, he imdiately sensed it.

They also turned with him, and that eliminated all the doubts in his heart.

If they had just been Newcors going to the cafeteria and heading back to their dorms like everyone else, so why branch off?

Since he was being followed, there was no need to rush back to the dorm room.

It was already night, around 9:00, and after another two minutes of walking, he turned into a dark alleyway.

Thirty seconds later, two figures stepped into the dark alley too.

They continued, speeding up their steps, but paused when they ca across a dead end with Everlearn nowhere to be found.

"How did he..."

BOOOOOOM!

The sound of a heavy thud made them turn quickly, and they noticed him slowly rising from his crouched position.

He had descended from the sky, having fallen from the skyscraper.

That ant he had quickly climbed up upon entering the alleyway and was now descending back down.

CRACK

CRACK

The sound of bones cracking rang out as Everlearn cracked his fingers, stepping closer to both.

"I won’t be giving up my points so easily, so if you’ve got sothing, better pull it out now..."

SHRRRRING!

What followed was the sound of tal being drawn, and Everlearn paused.

Both n wore chanical gauntlets that ca alive with a crackling hum.

From the backs of their hands, three red-hot blades shot out, like energy-forged claws, each one gleaming with crimson light.

The air split with sharp, white streaks as the blades easily sliced through it.

"Oh, shit. For real!?"

Everlearn called out in dumb shock.

They didn’t speak a word.

One of them leaned forward and then sped towards Everlearn.

The other jumped into the air, running across the wall of skyscraper before slashing down upon Everlearn.

A total of six blades cleaved through the air, each reaching for Everlearn, who took leaned forward slightly but then suddenly halted.

When the attacks were just a few inches away from him, only then did he react.

He took two steps forward to dodge the upward cleave, then bent his knees and dropped horizontally to the floor, narrowly avoiding the forward slash.

A kick from the boy behind him slamd into his back, sending Everlearn hurtling into the air.

His hands landed upon the window and he pushed himself off it, landing at the end of the dead end.

Rising to his feet, Everlearn looked down at his hands.

A blood-red slash ran across the back of them, and he instinctively reached for his neck.

There was a thin line of blood there too, glowing faintly red, and the fabric over his chest had been burned away, clear evidence of a slash aid at his heart.

"A slash to the neck and a stab to the heart..." Everlearn said aloud, his words echoing through the alleyway before he turned to face them both.

"You both are not after my points, are you?"

With over 400 points in his possession, Everlearn was a pri target for most of the students.

Points could be obtained through the Challenge System, but there was a better way: bullying it out from other students.

It was more rewarding and less complicated.

When he had noticed those two following him, he thought he’d been targeted for his points.

Yet the attack gadgets, Red Wolverine Claws, that these two were using were easily worth more than 200 points.

And if that wasn’t enough, their attacks in that mont had a clear intent:

To cleave off his head and pierce his heart!

These guys weren’t here for points.

They ca to kill!

And judging by their silence, and precise deadly attacks, this doesn’t seem to be their first ti.

Once more, both rushed towards Everlearn claw blades flaring with red energy.

Now that he understood what they were here for, Everlearn didn’t joke around anymore.

"Activate Core!"

HUUUUUUM!

The humming sound rippled through the alleyway, an invisible wave of energy spreading forth as both assassins reached five ters from him.

"Activate Illumino Transformation."

BA-DUMP.

BA-DUMP.

BA-DUMP.

His heart pounded heavily accompanied by the flicker of golden light.

His hands were the first, golden light coiling around them in a blinding sure, and when they faded, his hands had reshaped.

From hands, they had turned to enormous golden-black claws, each segnt fitted with sharp, jointed plates that locked together with a tallic hiss.

The contours were sleek yet jagged, faint dark lights pulsing along their edges.

Golden light traced across his lips from one ear to the other and when they faded, his gums hardened, and his teeth fused into a single tallic fra.

In their place ford a jagged steel maw, stretching wide across his face like a living machine.

When he exhaled, white vapor escaped between the glowing gaps of his new jaw.

RIIIIIIP

RIIIIIIP

The blades reaching for him were stopped halfway as his claws slashed out toward both.

BAAAAAANG!

A heavy explosion sent both assailants stumbling backward from the force, their eyes widening in shock, as they turned to thier hands shaking uncontrollably.

’So...so much power!’ Bernard thought in shock, turning back to find Everlearn already before him.

He took a step back, to gain so distance but he was still too slow.

His face was grabbed before,

BOOOOOOM!

The alley ground exploded with cracks as Bernard’s head was roughly smashed into teh ground by the heavy claws.

PIERCE!

Even while forced to the ground, Bernard still reacted, thrusting his red-hot clawed gauntlets toward Everlearn’s neck in an attempt to end him swiftly.

But instead of piercing his throat as intended, Everlearn tilted his head downward, and the strike landed in his maw instead.

Bernard imdiately pushed with all of his power hoping to ouerce out through Everlearn;s mouth and tear into his brain.

But then,

CRACK

The sound of tal being crushed rang out as cracks ran through the blades.

Everlearn’s ttalic jaw clenched together and

CRUNCH!

The tallic blades were crushed to pieces!

Horror filled the Bernard eyes as he watched Everlearn crunching the tal in his maw.

’He... he swallowed it!?’

The second Everlearn swallowed the tal, the golden light from his claws incresed, as the blades turned even sharper.

His heart pumped louder, fueling even more energy through him.

"What! What The Hell Do You Fuse With!?"

Bernard roared in horror and in the next Everlearn picked him up from the ground.

PUUCCCHI!
