Chapter 032: Is This Woman a Jinx?

Inside the restaurant, Su Mingxuan and An Mushui spent nearly the entire afternoon together. It wasn’t until around five o’clock that the two of them walked out of the place. As for what happened during that ti, only the two of them would ever know.

But when An Mushui erged from the private booth, her face was noticeably flushed, catching the attention of several waitstaff. Each one secretly wondered how their usually cool and aloof boss could look so… different.

“Su Mingxuan, I’m heading back to the office,” An Mushui said softly once they reached the parking lot.

“Mm, see you later, Little Mudfish,” Su Mingxuan smiled.

Blushing, An Mushui rolled her eyes and leaned in close to whisper, “Can you not call that in front of other people?”

“Little Mudfish”—it was such a ridiculous nickna. Even if she secretly liked it, she still had a reputation to uphold as CEO. A beautiful, fair-skinned woman like her… how could she be called that?

Looking at her gorgeous face, Su Mingxuan chuckled. “Then what should I call you?”

An Mushui stepped in a little closer. From where she stood, she could feel his breath, his heartbeat. “You can call … Shuishui,” she said softly, and before he could respond, she quickly pecked his lips and ran to her car like a startled rabbit.

“You little rascal,” Su Mingxuan muttered, savoring the quick kiss.

“Hmph,” she stuck her head out the window and teased, “You kissed way longer in there. What’s wrong with kissing you once?”

Thinking back to what had just happened, An Mushui couldn’t help but fu. How was he so skilled at it?

Su Mingxuan didn’t reply. It wasn’t the sort of thing that sounded very gentlemanly if you talked about it openly. What if Qin Yu heard?

Wait—where was Qin Yu?

Su Mingxuan looked around but didn’t see any sign of him. That was odd. Shouldn’t he have shown up by now, heartbroken and seething with jealousy? It was out of character for him to disappear like this.

No sign of Qin Yu. Oh well.

Su Mingxuan watched An Mushui drive off in her sports car before returning to his own vehicle.

“Your Shuishui will now drive off,” she teased from her window before speeding away.

Su Mingxuan shook his head. Won drivers really were terrifying sotis…

He sat in silence for a mont before speaking. “Send a few people to tail her discreetly. Make sure she stays safe. Sa from now on.”

“Yes, Young Master Su,” the driver-bodyguard replied imdiately. He understood—the two short sentences might sound casual, but to that girl, they were everything. From now on, no one would dare lay a finger on her.

With An Mushui gone, Su Mingxuan also headed back to the manor. Strangely enough, Xiaong hadn’t contacted him all day. Had she really been playing so hard she forgot all about him? That didn’t seem like her at all. Su Mingxuan grew concerned and decided to give her a call.

Ring…

Ring…

The line rang for a whole minute but no one picked up. Frowning, Su Mingxuan dialed the head housekeeper at the manor. A middle-aged woman’s voice quickly ca through the line.

“Young Master Mingxuan.”

“Where’s Xiaong?” Su Mingxuan asked directly.

“She left after breakfast. Didn’t she co to see you?” the housekeeper asked, sounding puzzled. She was soone sent by the Su family from the capital and clearly understood the importance of the young lady.

“I haven’t seen her,” Su Mingxuan said curtly and hung up.

If Xiaong went out, she’d have bodyguards with her, so he wasn’t too worried about her safety. Still, she was precious, a real gem. Even the slightest risk wasn’t acceptable.

Just as that thought passed, his phone rang. It was Xiaong.

He answered imdiately.

Her panicked voice ca through the line. “Brother Mingxuan, where are you?! I’m so scared, sothing’s happening here—bad people are trying to kidnap soone!!”

Su Mingxuan’s eyes narrowed. Who the hell had the balls to touch the Su family’s little princess?

“Xiao ng, calm down. Where are you?” he asked coldly.

“I’m at Sister Bai’s place,” she said, voice trembling and on the verge of tears. “These people are even scarier than yesterday’s! They’re trying to take Sister Bai away! Several of the bodyguards are already down! Brother Mingxuan, co quick!”

Chaotic sounds and shouting echoed in the background as she spoke. Clearly, the situation was serious.

Su Mingxuan’s frown deepened.

Sister Bai? She ant Bai Suxin? Why the hell had Xiao ng gone to her place?

That woman really was a jinx. Every ti she showed up, sothing terrible happened.

Not wasting another second, Su Mingxuan ordered the driver to head for the slums imdiately. “Xiaong, don’t worry. I’m on my way. Just stay safe and protect yourself!”

“Okay. Hurry, Brother Mingxuan!” Her voice had cald a bit.

After reassuring her a few more tis, he hung up. The urgency was palpable, and the convoy didn’t hesitate to run a few red lights. To Su Mingxuan, traffic violations were nothing compared to Xiao ng’s safety.

Now he was truly curious. Who dared to ss with the Su family?

He was about to find out.
