Chapter 513: Chapter 294: Stack Arhats_2

At this point, she couldn’t help but start crying again, “He’s always like this, never tells anything, enduring everything all by himself…”

ng Wanning’s tears silently flowed down. Her acquaintance with Chen Cheng was bland, just like the Mapo Tofu i Xiang made today, tasteless and without a ripple of excitent.

There were no heart-stopping adventures, no life-and-death vows of commitnt, only day after day of unremarkable togetherness, like a cup of warm water, not scalding the mouth, nor chilling the heart.

By comparison, between i Xiang and Chen Cheng, there were experiences she couldn’t reach, a mutual support on the edge of life and death, selfless acts in tis of danger, mories that would last a lifeti.

Suddenly, she felt like an outsider, a silent observer to their story.

Her love for Chen Cheng was built on fantasy and longing, whereas i Xiang and Chen Cheng shared real experiences and bonds.

“Xiao ng, why are you crying?” Xiao ier noticed ng Wanning’s tears and asked with concern.

ng Wanning quickly wiped away her tears and squeezed out a smile, “It’s nothing, Sister ier, I’m just… moved.”

“And a little envious…” she added.

“Envious of what?”

ng Wanning looked towards i Xiang but did not answer.

i Xiang’s head was also spinning, the alcohol had slowed her reaction, but she still caught ng Wanning’s gaze and her unfinished sentence.

“Miss ng… I…”

ng Wanning quickly shook her head, then grabbed an empty wine glass from the table, lifted it to her lips, only to find it was empty.

Seeing this, Xiao ier, too, had drunk more than half a bottle, swaying as she propped herself against the table and stood up, “I’ll get it.”

“Sister ier, I’ll co with you.” i Xiang also stood up to follow.

It was only her second ti drinking strong liquor, and even though it was less than four ounces, she felt dizzy and disoriented.

ng Wanning saw both of them weaving and internally shouted an alarm.

She struggled to stand, wanting to stop them from getting more drinks, but felt her legs as heavy as if filled with lead, and the world before her eyes began to spin.

“Senior Sister, Miss i Xiang, don’t… don’t drink anymore…” ng Wanning said intermittently, trying to stabilize her swaying body.

Xiao ier and i Xiang supported each other, staggering towards the door, completely ignoring ng Wanning’s words.

“Great food… Great drinks… Let’s… continue to drink…” Xiao ier mumbled incoherently, one hand on the wall, the other pulling i Xiang.

i Xiang was totally drunk, wholly relying on Xiao ier’s support, humming an out-of-tune Japanese lody.

ng Wanning took a deep breath, summoned her energy, and staggered after them.

“Be careful!”

Just as Xiao ier was about to reach the door, she stumbled and was about to fall.

i Xiang also lost her balance and both of them tumbled to the ground.

ng Wanning was quick to react, grabbing them both, but due to the montum, all three fell down together.

“Ouch!”

“Itai!”

The three of them ended up sitting on the floor in disarray.

“Are you guys… are you guys alright?” ng Wanning struggled to ask, her vision blurring.

“It’s fine… it’s fine…” Xiao ier waved her hand, trying to get up, but found herself too weak to muster any strength.

i Xiang also leaned powerlessly against the door fra, her eyes looking blurredly at the ceiling.

The three of them sat together in a ss, like scattered blocks, unable to help each other up.

After a while, Xiao ier suddenly started giggling, “Ha ha… we… we seem like… playing pile-up…”

i Xiang followed with a silly laugh, “Pile-up… we’re like monks… aren’t monks supposed to be male…”

ng Wanning couldn’t resist anymore, her head spun as the effects of alcohol hit her fast.

She leaned on Xiao ier’s shoulder, mumbling disorderly, “So dizzy…”

Chen Cheng returned from outside, holding a portion of kebabs, his face bright with the joy of joining the al again, only to find the scene in utter chaos upon his return.

The kebabs in his hand dropped to the ground with a thunk.

Three won were leaning against each other in a haphazard manner, their faces flushed, eyes glazed, mumbling incoherently.

He hurried to the side of the three, crouched down, and asked with concern, “ier, i Xiang, Xiao ng, are you all okay?”

Xiao ier heard Chen Cheng’s voice, struggled to open her eyes, and looked at him dazedly, “Xiao… Xiao Cheng… You’re back… *hic*…”

i Xiang also lifted her head, a trace of joy flashed through her eyes upon seeing Chen Cheng, but then she lowered her head and said softly, “しゅじん…すみません… I… I’ve had too much to drink…”

ng Wanning was leaning against Xiao ier’s shoulder, sound asleep.

Chen Cheng looked at the state of the three won and felt both distressed and helpless.

He paused, pinched Xiao ier’s face, “ier? ier?”

Xiao ier’s lips moved a few tis, but no sound ca out, though Chen Cheng noticed that her hand was firmly grasping i Xiang’s.

Chen Cheng shook his head helplessly, the only thing to do now was to take each of them back to their rooms.

He first helped ng Wanning, who was asleep, off Xiao ier’s shoulder.

ng Wanning’s head tilted slightly to the side, her eyebrows furrowed, not quite at peace even in sleep.

Chen Cheng carefully lifted her in a bridal carry, ng Wanning was light, and he made sure each step was steady, although he knew that ng Wanning was heavily intoxicated, and her sweet dreams must be mingled with the chaos of inebriation.

Fortunately, the guest room they had stayed in last ti was still available. Chen Cheng kicked open the door, placed ng Wanning on the bed, drew the covers for her with care, and put a pillow under her head to make her sleep more comfortably.

Looking at ng Wanning’s peaceful sleeping face, Chen Cheng’s eyes were full of pity; he knew that this usually gentle woman must have indulged in drinking for so reason today.

Then, Chen Cheng hurried back to the dining room, finding Xiao ier and i Xiang still leaning on the ground.

He crouched next to Xiao ier and softly called out, “ier, let’s go back to our room to rest.”

Xiao ier mumbled a few tis, seemingly responding to him.

Chen Cheng first released their clasped hands, then lifted Xiao ier.

Xiao ier wrapped her arms subconsciously around his neck, murmuring, “Xiao Cheng, you’re not allowed to run around anymore, understand?”

Chen Cheng responded, “I know, ier, I won’t go anywhere.”

He carried Xiao ier to her room, her body warm in his arms from the alcohol.

Upon entering the bedroom, Chen Cheng placed Xiao ier on the bed, took off her shoes, covered her with a blanket, and returned to the dining room again.

Now, only i Xiang was left.

i Xiang felt soone approaching again, opened her eyes hazily, and tried to stand up, but wobbled.

Chen Cheng quickly stepped forward and picked her up.

i Xiang rested her head against Chen Cheng’s chest, her hair a bit disheveled, emitting a faint scent of alcohol.

“Husband~” i Xiang, eyes closed, nuzzled her head into Chen Cheng’s embrace.

“Hm?”

“You’re back? I’ve prepared a bath for you… Mapo Tofu… it’s already made… it’s delicious…”

Listening to i Xiang’s disjointed words, Chen Cheng couldn’t help but smile.

He carried her through the arched gate to the side courtyard.

He laid i Xiang on the bed, and just as he was about to stand, i Xiang tightly grasped his arm, “Don’t go… I’m scared…”

Chen Cheng maintained his position while i Xiang continued to mumble unclearly, “Brother Cheng… how long will you be back… I’ve missed you so much…”

After saying this, i Xiang’s grip loosened slightly.

Chen Cheng gently extracted his arm, adjusted i Xiang’s position, and then stood up straight.

“You three…”

Chen Cheng was at a loss for words to describe his feelings at that mont.

The three of them truly lived under the sa roof, albeit because they were all heavily drunk.

He sighed, placed the trash can by the bedside, and said to the already drowsy i Xiang, “You lie down for a while, I’m going to check on the other two.”

Chen Cheng didn’t know if the usually obedient and compliant i Xiang heard his instruction.

He hurriedly walked towards the door, muttering as he went, “It’s going to be a busy night.”
