Chapter 221: Chapter 177 The First Step in Learning Japanese_2
Chen Cheng followed i Xiang, and before entering the room, he took off his shoes.
i Xiang pushed open the door, and a faint scent of sandalwood hit them.
The room was furnished with a low table, which had tea sets and snacks on it.
“Please sit.” i Xiang gestured for Chen Cheng to sit down, then turned to prepare the tea.
Chen Cheng actually sat down, while i Xiang knelt.
He looked around and saw several calligraphy and paintings hanging on the room’s walls, and in the corner, there were so antiques and decorative items.
“These are my grandfather’s collection.” i Xiang said with a laugh as she carried the tea over, seeing Chen Cheng’s curious gaze, “These were all bought by him when he was young on his trips to Huaxia.”
Chen Cheng took a sip of tea and diplomatically remarked, “He has quite a good eye, these are all fine handiworks.”
“What?”
Chen Cheng smiled and said, “They are handicrafts, but the imitations are pretty well done.”
He put down the tea cup and pointed at a landscape painting on the wall, “You see this painting, even though it imitates the style of Song dynasty landscape paintings, the brushwork is slightly immature, and the texture strokes are not refined enough, it must be a modern imitation.”
i Xiang looked at Chen Cheng in surprise, “Brother Cheng, you can also appraise antiques?”
Chen Cheng smiled, “My maternal grandfather opened a Wanbao Hall in Beijing, it’s the restaurant you went to…”
He went on in detail: “I’ve been influenced since I was a child, so I learned a bit.”
i Xiang gazed at Chen Cheng, filled with admiration.
“Brother Cheng, could you… teach ?”
Chen Cheng nodded in agreent, “No problem, but I’m also a bit of an amateur, so I can’t guarantee it!”
“Hahaha, Brother Cheng, you are so interesting!” i Xiang giggled.
In the following ti, Chen Cheng tasted tea while explaining the knowledge of antique calligraphy and paintings to i Xiang.
He talked about everything from historical background to artistic style, from painting techniques to appreciation thods, in a simple and clear manner.
i Xiang was very engaged, occasionally asking questions, and Chen Cheng patiently answered them.
Unwittingly, the night had deepened.
i Xiang looked at the ti, “Brother Cheng, do you want to take a bath?”
“Sure, where?”
“I’ll take you there.”
The two walked out of the main house, through the corridor, towards the backyard.
The lighting in the courtyard beca softer, and i Xiang’s small steps were light as well.
When they arrived in front of a room, i Xiang stopped first, and pushed open the door, “Brother Cheng, you’ll stay here tonight.”
Chen Cheng glanced at the room, the size was similar to the hotel he stayed in on the first night, still tatami, and very tidy.
“Okay.” he replied.
“The bathroom is just ahead.”
i Xiang continued to lead the way, “This is the bathroom.”
She pushed open another wooden door and the bathroom appeared before Chen Cheng’s eyes.
The bathroom was much larger than the room he was staying in, with smooth stone slabs on the floor and white tiles on the walls, clean and tidy.
A huge wooden bath barrel was placed on one side, with new toiletries next to it.
There was also a uniquely shaped low stool.
i Xiang pointed to the shower and said, “The left side is cold water, the right is hot water.”
She bowed her head, “Brother Cheng, you can rinse off first, then put the showerhead into the tub.”
“I don’t really like soaking in the bath.” Chen Cheng replied, “I’m not used to it.”
“Then…” i Xiang pursed her lips, “then you go ahead and wash!”
She bowed again and then walked out.
Chen Cheng took off his clothes and put them on a shelf beside him, then turned on the faucet.
The warm water enveloped his body, dispelling the fatigue of the day, making him feel incredibly relaxed.
Splashing lightly.
The soft sound made him open his eyes again.
i Xiang clasped her hands in front of her chest, pointing to the low stool beside her, “Brother Cheng, please sit…”
Chen Cheng swallowed, his previous experiences of watching certain types of films ca to mind, and he finally understood what would happen next.
Chen Cheng turned off the faucet and sat down with his back to i Xiang.
The sound of small feet stepping in water, approaching him, was in his ears.
Although he couldn’t see i Xiang, he could imagine the blush on her face.
Delicate shower gel was applied to Chen Cheng’s broad back, i Xiang’s small hands gently scrubbed, creating more and more foam, which also beca increasingly fragrant.
“Brother Cheng, is the pressure all right?” i Xiang asked softly.
“Mm, very good.”
i Xiang’s fingers slid over Chen Cheng’s shoulder, tracing a path down his spine, feeling his muscles, firm and strong.
Chen Cheng felt those trembling fingers too, along with this awkward atmosphere.
“i Xiang, about that…”
i Xiang stopped her motions, looking at the back of Chen Cheng’s head, “What’s wrong? Brother Cheng? Are you uncomfortable?”
Chen Cheng didn’t turn around, “Teach a few words in Japanese, okay?”
“Sure! What do you want to learn?”
“How do you say ‘good morning’?” Chen Cheng asked.
i Xiang paused for a mont, then understood, “Ohayou.”
“Ohayou?” Chen Cheng repeated after her, his pronunciation deliberately a bit stiff.
“Mm, that’s right, just like that!” i Xiang smiled encouragingly, and resud her motions, “Brother Cheng, you learn so quickly!”
“And ‘good evening’?” Chen Cheng continued.
“Konbanwa.”
i Xiang said sweetly, the atmosphere not as tense anymore.
“Konbanwa.” Chen Cheng repeated, this ti much more fluently than before.
“That’s great! Brother Cheng, you’re truly a language genius!” i Xiang happily praised.
Chen Cheng smiled, “So-so~”
“Then what else do you want to learn?” i Xiang asked, “I can teach you anything.”
Chen Cheng raised his eyebrows, “How do you say ‘don’t’?”
“Da.”
“Da.” Chen Cheng repeated.
He began to laugh, saying the words he just learned in one breath, “Ohayou, konbanwa, da…”
“Iya…”
i Xiang, without waiting for Chen Cheng to finish, covered Chen Cheng’s mouth from behind with her hand, her face blushing red.
“Brother Cheng, you’re so naughty~” i Xiang’s voice was as faint as a mosquito’s, barely audible, “You mustn’t say…”
Chen Cheng held i Xiang’s hand, slowly turning around.
i Xiang’s skin was snowy white, slightly flushed all over, her face burning hot.
Chen Cheng lifted her chin, looked into those evasive eyes and said, “The last sentence, how do you say ‘I like you’?”
Steam and a faint woody fragrance filled the bathroom, wrapping the two in an intimate atmosphere.
i Xiang’s heartbeat sped up suddenly, “Aishiteru.”
Chen Cheng said smoothly, “Aishiteru.”
i Xiang, gazing at that gentle yet domineering gaze, could no longer contain her emotions, and threw herself into Chen Cheng’s arms, sobbing, “Brother Cheng, I like you too, always have.”
Chen Cheng hugged i Xiang tightly, allowing her petite body to tremble in his embrace, gently stroking her hair, “There there.”
i Xiang slowly lifted her head, closed her eyes, and moved closer to Chen Cheng’s lips.
Chen Cheng leaned down in response, and kissed her.
…
…
The tatami was sowhat hard, but the person in the thin blanket was very soft.
i Xiang wrapped her arms around Chen Cheng’s neck, her delicate nails clutching onto his solid shoulders, two lines of hot tears slid down her cheeks.
Chen Cheng stopped what he was doing, wiped away those tear stains by the dim indoor lighting, “Did I hurt you?”
i Xiang shook her head, filled with happiness, “No… no…”
Chen Cheng pinched i Xiang’s cheek, “i Xiang, you’re so beautiful.”
i Xiang bit her lip, eyes sparkling with tears, voice choked with emotion, “Brother Cheng, you’ll rember , right?”
“Of course.”
i Xiang nodded, buried her head in his chest, holding him tighter, “I always thought… you wouldn’t like .”
“How could that be?”
Chen Cheng gently stroked her hair, softly speaking, “You’re so cute, so kind, who wouldn’t like you?”
“I like you, Brother Cheng,” i Xiang said softly, “Please be gentle with , okay?”
The night was still long, and the story of Chen Cheng and i Xiang was just beginning.
But after this mont, i Xiang was about to embrace her new identity—Chen Cheng’s woman.
