“Xia Xin, do you find these words, sowhat familiar?” Jiangli always felt like she had heard similar words sowhere before, and couldn’t help but look towards Xia Xin.
Sitting neatly between Jiangli and Liu Rongrong, Xia Xin looked confused, “What?”
Stroking his chin, Jiangli recalled for a mont and said, “That’s right! Last night, when Cao Jiadong ca looking for , he ntioned that the Qin Family was the developer of the old city area, though it seems the Qin Family’s project has already stopped, hasn’t it?”
“The Qin Family?” The talkative and overly familiar driver imdiately joined in the conversation with Jiangli upon hearing this, “Are you talking about Qin Corporation?”
Jiangli asked, “You know about it?”
The driver said, “Of course! Qin Corporation is very famous in our F City! Over in the west of the city, there is indeed land owned by Qin Corporation. They were supposedly building residential complexes, but construction has stopped now. However, Jinxin Building isn’t theirs, I’ve heard that Jinxin Building is actually owned by Mutian Group.”
“Mutian Group?” Jiangli blinked, encountering another term she didn’t understand.
Seeing this, Xia Xin hurriedly explained in a low voice, “It’s just the na of a company. Companies nowadays are probably equivalent to soone opening a small store back in your ancestors’ era. It’s just that their scale is much bigger.”
Jiangli made a sound of understanding.
She looked at the driver and asked with a smile, “Then why is the Mutian Group still constructing it?”
Xia Xin followed up with a question, “Yeah, wasn’t it said that that area is not being included in the city developnt plan for the ti being?”
The driver replied, “How would a little commoner like know about such matters? I’ve heard though that Mutian Group said that place is on so sort of geomantic treasure land. Building a big building there would supposedly bring prosperity, but I don’t know the specifics. Anyway, these things are none of my business. I wouldn’t be able to enter such a building in my whole life.”
Jiangli stroked her chin, feeling quite puzzled.
As they chatted, the car arrived in front of Jinxin Building.
“Here we are, Jinxin Building, it’s right here.” The driver pointed at the unfinished building ahead, “But it seems they’re not allowing people in now. Young ladies, what are you doing here?”
“We’re here to look for soone.”
Jiangli smiled at the driver and stepped out of the car.
The driver looked at them curiously, not understanding what person they could possibly be looking for here.
Although the Jinxin Building was still under construction, the progress was quite slow, and there weren’t many people around the site now.
It felt very strange to do anything here.
But the driver didn’t think too much about it, eager to pick up more passengers, he stepped on the gas and drove away.
The car kicked up a cloud of dust.
Jiangli waved her hand to fan away the dust in front of her.
Liu Rongrong, clutching a toy tiger as if she had received so sort of command, was already walking inside.
Looking at the empty construction site, Xu Yang had a bad feeling and couldn’t help but ask Jiangli, “Abbot, do we really have to go in?”
“Hmm, let’s go in and have a look,” said Jiangli, stepping forward.
Xu Yang felt uneasy inside. For so reason, he didn’t want to get close to this construction site.
Seeing him hesitating, Xia Xin patted his shoulder and said, “Let’s go, Mr. Xu.”
Xu Yang hesitated for a mont, then followed them, walking into the construction site step by step.
Indeed, there weren’t many people around the site at this ti.
They entered without anyone stopping them.
However, once they had entered the construction site, Liu Rongrong beca confused. She stood there with her mind a complete blank, not knowing where to go next.
She looked at Jiangli helplessly.
“Abbot, the… the toy tiger seems to be ineffective now.”
Jiangli looked around, “It’s not that it’s ineffective.”
