Fu Shiyan chuckled softly and turned to walk out of the police station.
Duan Jianchuan’s tone was much lighter now as he hooked his arm around Wen Zishu’s shoulder, “Let’s go.”
Wen Zishu followed them, huffing with indignation. In fact, this was normal; he knew the others were just teasing him and didn’t take it to heart.
When he got into the car, Wen Zishu had cald down, “By the way.”
He rembered sothing and turned to Fu Shiyan, “Big Brother, have you ever felt that the little sister, the Abbot from Jiaoyang Temple, is very strange?”
Duan Jianchuan, who was driving in front, replied coolly, “What, have you taken a fancy to that girl?”
“Get lost!”
Wen Zishu kicked the back of his seat and said earnestly, “I just find her really odd. Think about it, she’s really good at fortune-telling; whatever she says cos true! But when she’s not telling fortunes, she seems so silly, as if she’s not from our world, like an old relic that knows nothing. Yet she’s so capable. Don’t you find this incongruent?”
“Not really,” said Fu Shiyan with his eyes closed, taking a brief rest.
Duan Jianchuan echoed, “Not really.”
Wen Zishu widened his eyes, “Seriously, you two don’t think she’s strange?”
“What’s strange about it?” Duan Jianchuan glanced at him through the rearview mirror. “Didn’t they say, she’s a young girl who used to spend years in seclusion on a mountain? The fact that she knows so much at such a young age is proof enough of where her focus was. Is that hard to comprehend?”
Wen Zishu still felt sothing was off, “What kind of mountain doesn’t have sothing like internet nowadays? And she doesn’t even understand cell phones. Don’t people in the mountains communicate with the outside world?”

Duan Jianchuan said expressionlessly, “Sorry, I was on a mission three years ago, and I spent a year in the mountains without internet, and we had everything we needed there, so there was no need to communicate with the outside world.”
