"USELESS!"

"FUCKING USELESS! All of you would be more useful if you were all burned and set on fire!" Javi snapped, his eyes deep red as he stood there, raging in anger even as his n knelt on the ground in front of him.

They had just reported their failure to get the storage facility they had attacked under their control and had just reported to Javi, who looked like he would have preferred if they died in the battle rather than continue kneeling in front of him.

"You’re telling that you couldn’t kill werewolves! RE FUCKING WEREWOLVES!" His voice was loud as it bounced across the walls of the room they all stood in, which belonged to Javi in his new mansion.

"They were—" one of them began to speak, but he didn’t finish as Javi materialized in front of him, digging a hole through his chest until his arm ca out bloody on the other side of the Red’s body.

A heart in his hand, one that was icy cold, as he tossed it to the floor and squashed it. The Red wasn’t dead, but he scread in so much agony it seed like soone had thrown him into a lake of fire.

Javi didn’t have to say a word before the man was picked up and carried out along with whatever was left of his heart. The remaining high-ranking n in his order still knelt on their feet, having learned enough to know better than to speak, as Javi began to speak in a much calr tone this ti around.

Speaking to all of them even as they focused their attention completely on him.

"Just because you can’t kill all of them and capture the facility doesn’t stop you from burning it to the ground. If I can’t get the resources I need...then is there any reason why they should keep it?" he asked, only to be t with absolute silence, the bravest of them not strong enough to vigorously nod his head even though the angle with which he lowered it made it clear that he was worried that he wouldn’t be able to keep it any longer.

"If you understand...then leave!" he snapped, more infuriated to see them run out like a bunch of kids instead of the Pure-Reds they were.

"If you would also like to—"

"SHUT UP, REXTER! I have a different job for you!" Javi said as he moved back and tossed himself on the sofa, pouring himself a bottle of Red into his wine glass as he continued speaking.

"The reports say that Cain took enough potions to push his transformation back!"

"Yes, my lord!"

"...it makes wonder what would happen if in such a sensitive state he was shot by that thing we’ve been experinting with. He’ll definitely die, wouldn’t he?"

"Lo-lord Javi! Cain is fast! He can dodge bullets with ease!"

"Then shoot it from a mile away!"

"If he actually dies, Lord Eldric will not let you go! I assu that you need—"

"REXTER...do you know what’s the most important thing to a Red?" Javi asked, speaking in a conversational tone as he continued without giving Rexter a chance to speak, taking the shaking of his head as answer enough.

"It’s PRIDE! Because after everything or anyone you have is gone or has changed after centuries, all you have left is PRIDE! That and REPUTATION!"

"I refuse to allow mine to burn simply because I have mindless subordinates that can’t do sothing right! If you can’t kill him! Weaken him enough that he can’t attend the next Council eting. By then, he would have been removed!" Javi ordered before sending Rexter out, who hurriedly left as fast as possible.

Aware of what would be his fate if he didn’t carry out the instructions he had been given fast enough.

Violet felt a little dizzy, sothing she felt was normal and wouldn’t have to worry about. Her gaze focused on the mansion walls and whether or not she could successfully scale over them.

Passing through the gate wasn’t an option, especially since one look at it and it was obvious that it was packed with attacks from different sides. For a while, Violet took a break, taking the ti out to bind her stomach wound too.

The wound wasn’t deep, and she hoped that by doing so she might not even have to go to the hospital or get a doctor to look at her. Crouching behind a tree to wait for things to settle, she peeped from behind it.

’I just need to get over that wall and take a public transport that would take straight ho,’ she thought to herself with a frown, only to feel her head slowly begin to get heavier just before she felt the need to throw up—and she did.

Throwing up every single one of whatever was in her stomach, including blood, which worried her. It was pitch black in the night, about an hour past midnight, but the lights scattered around the mansion grounds made it impossible to hide.

’This is not good!’ she realized, staring at the specks of blood she could see and the tallic tang she tasted in her mouth. The dizziness and nausea... the only conclusion she could co to was that her wounds had been infected, which ant that she no longer had much ti.

She could no longer dally either and had to go, either through the walls or through the gates. Quickly, she got on her feet and slowly began to walk towards them, only to, all of a sudden, feel a heavy push from behind her, which sent her straight to the floor.

Terrified and crippled with fear as she lay on the ground, she had just turned around when her eyes widened as she fixed her eyes on a familiar red-eyed beast. Its size was enough to make anyone faint simply from staring at it as it stood in front of her, completely silent.

It didn’t growl; it didn’t move, yet the way its body and fur bristled made it very clear that it was furious and utterly pissed.
