Silas’s POV

"Aaaaaaaaaa!" I scread with all my strength because I wanted Damon, and everyone knew that the ghost was beside . Hearing my scream, all of them turned around, and I was about to run to them, but just then, that ghost suddenly grabbed my hand and was about to pull closer to him, which was very terrifying.

"Silas!" Damon shouted, and he took a step ahead to grab , but before he could, I had lost all the strength within my body, just like I was about to die. My eyes were closing, but I didn’t want to die, that’s why I tried to stay awake and started to make myself free from that ghost.

Until then, Theron and Damon had grabbed and started to pull so I could get free from that ghost’s grip.

"Silas, don’t worry, we are here, we will save you," they said as they pulled with all their strength. Finally, I got free from that ghost’s grip and fell at Damon. It’s good that he caught .

"Silas, are you okay?"

"Yes, I am, but..."

I glanced at the ghost, but there was no one. Seeing that, my eyes widened and my heart skipped a beat. Because who knows when that ghost might do a sneak attack again. I couldn’t relax. But then I heard the sound of laughing. My hands automatically joined Damon’s, and I turned around to see that the ghost was now sitting on the bed beside Lysander.

Indeed, he was a ghost. He could move around anywhere he wanted, and we couldn’t do anything to him. That’s what I thought until I saw the priest sprinkling holy water on the ghost. At first, that ghost also thought nothing was going to happen to him—I could tell by his proud face, which was mocking everyone.

But then he started to scream in pain. A white smoke was coming out from his body like his soul was burning.

"You bastards, what have you done to ?! I’m not gonna let anyone go that easily!" he shouted, then suddenly glanced at .

"You didn’t beco mine, then there is no need for you to be alive. I curse all of you standing in this room—you’re going to be ruined, and the destruction will not only be yours but of all your loved ones!"

My heart beca heavy hearing him. Who could feel fine after hearing that? And it was the first ti soone had cursed , so I was feeling really strange. Just then, a vase was thrown at the ghost, but it didn’t hit him. I quickly looked back—it was Kael who had thrown that vase.

"You son of a bitch! Who asked you to talk to us? If you can’t talk normally, then it would be better if you kept your mouth shut! Because you’re just saying nonsense bullshit things!"

Woah, Kael did good. Because how dare that ghost try to curse us? But wait—didn’t he already give us a curse? That ans now we’re cursed.

Then the priest started to murmur sothing before the ghost could give more curses. And in a few minutes, that ghost turned into ashes and disappeared from there, like he had been destroyed. His screams are still echoing in my ears, like he’s still hiding sowhere.

But he got destroyed in front of my eyes, so he’s not going to co back, right? I don’t know whether I should feel relieved or panicked. Because the way he ca to my side earlier... I still feel like he didn’t disappear. He’ll co back when I let my guard down and kill at that ti.

Then the priest turned to Damon. "Your Highness, Prince Lysander is totally fine now, and we have destroyed that ghost. We will make sure that no ghost will ever possess any royal family mbers in the future."

We all rushed to Lysander. His lips had turned white, and his face was pale. The priest said he would be unconscious for a few hours, then he would wake up. Since he was possessed, his whole body is weak now, and he needs so ti to regain energy.

And when I think about it now, there was indeed a ghost inside Lysander who did those perverted and dirty things to . But I blad Lysander because I didn’t know it. That’s why he was crying and begging for my forgiveness, saying that he didn’t do it. But I didn’t believe him, thinking he was just making excuses after trying to take advantage of .

I should have believed him, but if I look at it logically—unless I knew there was a ghost inside Lysander—I would have still blad him. But now I know it’s not Lysander’s fault. I feel relieved inside because, yes, the one I loved—he’s not the type who takes advantage of others and forces them.

We were sitting beside Lysander, and his mom and dad were also there. Their gazes were so intense, like they were still angry at . But I tried to ignore them, because for now, Lysander is the most important.

While we were sitting there, I realized I was still trembling. I was thinking a lot, and when I looked at my hand, it was shaking. My whole body was shaking.

Just then, I saw a hand around my shoulder, which really, really made tremble in fear. I quickly looked to my side. It was Theron’s hand. Seeing him, I sighed in relief.

"Are you okay, Silas?" Theron asked.

"Yes, I’m totally fine."

It was a lie. Because I was not fine at all, but I didn’t want to say it to them—what I was feeling. We were all worried about Lysander right now, and I couldn’t just say in the middle of it all what I was feeling. It would look like I was trying to get their attention.

"Silas, don’t lie. I can tell by your face that you’re still scared from this incident. Do you think we wouldn’t be able to understand you?"

It’s not that I think they can’t understand . I just don’t want to bother them. Even though they’re all here, sitting beside , I still can’t shake off that horrifying feeling. I think I’m such a coward.

"Theron, really, I’m fine." I tried to fake a smile so Theron would believe .

But just then, he pulled into his arms and hugged , which was really warm. I felt like—yes, this warmth—I was searching for it. I also clenched his clothes because I didn’t want to break the hug. That’s why I clung to him more.

I felt a hand patting my head. My eyes glanced behind . It was Damon who was patting my head. Kael was sitting beside Lysander, holding his hand. His mom and dad had already left.

I was getting comfortable in Theron’s arms when I suddenly rembered Orian—that he and yer hadn’t co back yet. That’s why I quickly moved away from Theron in a hurry and stepped down from the bed. I was about to rush out without telling them, but before that, Theron grabbed my hand.

"Where are you going, Silas?"

"I’m going to see if Orian has co back or not. Because it’s been really long since he went on that date with yer."

Hearing , Damon stood up from the bed. "Let’s go. I’ll co with you," he said.

Theron let go of my hand, and Damon and I both left from there. We glanced at Lysander—he was still sleeping.

When we ca out, the whole hallway was bright like it was dayti. All the candles were on, and the light was strong. When Kael and I had co earlier, it was dimly lit. Now I understand why—it was because of that ghost. But now that the ghost is destroyed, everything feels better.

"Silas, you’re still scared, right? I saw you trembling a while ago. And what that ghost tried to do and say—forget it. I’m here. I will protect you with my own life."

"What are you saying? How can you say that? There’s no need for you to protect with your own life, because I am capable of protecting myself."

How can he even think he should protect with his life? Even if we’re in a relationship, it’s not like I’m asking him to give up his life for . No. He should prioritize himself first. That’s what he taught , didn’t he?

"Damon, let’s promise—whatever happens, we’re not going to talk about dying. Because what that ghost cursed us—I still rember."

Damon joined his hands with mine.

"Silas, that ghost was just spouting nonsense. His curse isn’t actually going to work on us, because he was already dead. Ghosts can’t curse living beings."

I sighed in relief just hearing that.

"You’re telling the truth, right? Because I’m feeling scared... what if his curse cos true and destroys all of us?" I asked cuz I was still worried.
