Islinda was frozen at the spot, tears streaming down her cheeks unchecked. She had felt it. Every single tornt; pain; anguish and depression that Azula had gone through. She experienced it as if it were her own suffering. As if Azula had vanished and she had taken her place during that ordeal as long as it lasted.
Even now, she could tell the thoughts buzzing around in the demon’s head. Islinda groaned, clutching her head. This... It was too much. She didn’t ask for this. Why was this happening to her? There were so many humans, Fae’s, that Azula could have chosen to share this fate with, why her?
Suddenly, the squeaking sound of tal being dragged open echoed through the dim confines of the prison, piercing the heavy silence. Azula’s eyes snapped open, wide with anticipation, the sudden noise jolting her from the numbness of her existence. Simultaneously, Islinda lifted her head, her expression mirroring Azula’s mixture of hope and apprehension.
The realization dawned on them both: soone was opening the prison door. For the first ti in five long years, soone was finally visiting them, the sound of the door’s opening a beacon of hope in their otherwise bleak existence.
However, anger filled Azula’s vein almost imdiately as the figure walked in with the torchlight. After so many years, they finally rembered they had a demon prisoner. Azula flexed her muscles, her chains rattling with the movent. Even with her emaciated form, she lifted her face and refused to show weakness to Benjamin who had probably co to check if his pet demon had died.
However, her nostrils flared recognizing the scent was foreign from Benjamin’s. Even if a hundred years had gone by, Azula could still recall what Benjamin slled like — rotten evil with a hint of deceit.
Hence Azula’s fra beca rigid, bracing herself for this unexpected visitor and when the figure finally ca into view, she snarled in response. She should have known. There was a tinge of familiarity in the newcor’s scent.
Except he was no newcor at all.
"I have to admit, your resilience is admirable."
It was Benjamin’s second in command and if his master slled like rotten evil, he was way worse. The Fae smiled at her fiendishly, his sinister intention written clearly on his face.
Azula did not give him the satisfaction of a response, watching him cautiously as he moved to light up the torches in the room. It took a while to light up considering how out of use it has been.
However, her prison was soon lit up and Azula had to admit she missed the tantalizing heat. She was a creature of hell and was used to the intense heat. She couldn’t rember the number of tis she had curled into a ball on the floor, shivering from the cold and soughting the feel of the delicious warmth on her skin.
Islinda had never liked this Fae from the first day she had laid eyes on him in this vision. He gave her the chills for so reasons, neither was she settled, especially now he was alone in an enclosed space with Azula. He could do anything to the demon and no one would know or co to her rescue.
Azula has been through so much already, she wanted a mont of reprieve for the demon. If only there was a way to help, Islinda knew she would be punching the daylight of this asshole. She would have long saved Azula from the silence that threatened to steal her mind.
But Islinda knew deep down that this was an event in the past, one that had already happened and was being shown to her. She just couldn’t understand why it was being revealed to her. Why her? She had nothing in common with a demon. Neither was this answering the question behind her sudden ability and mysterious heritage.
Yet, Islinda watched nonetheless, her heart in her throat. She only wished she wasn’t about to watch a more traumatizing scene worse than her tail being mutilated.
The fae returned to Azula, scrunching his nose at the staleness and offensive odor in the air. He made no remark about it anyway, his gaze falling on Azula and his leering perusal caused a frown to form between Islinda’s brows. This Fae’s unexpected visit greatly bothered her. Azula seed to feel the sa because she growled threateningly at him.
He chuckled. "I see you look fine. One would think that five years in here would ...." He thought about the word, " ta you. But it seems you are a tough one. That’s alright anyway, I don’t like my females a willing one when I take them.",
Wait — what?!
Islinda went wide-eyed and she looked towards Azula in concern. But Azula was oddly calm. She was almost like a dangerous snake poised to attack. Hence Islinda could only watch with her heart pounding in her chest, hoping that Azula had a hidden card she hadn’t revealed yet. The gods help her, she couldn’t watch this anymore. Why was she being forced to undergo this sadistic tornt along with this demon? Islinda did not find the ill-fated encounter funny.
"I see..." Azula finally spoke, her voice shaky and husky from the ti spent in solitude, "So you want to take it up from where your master failed, dog?"
The expression falted from the Fae’s face upon being called a dog while Islinda thought she would suffer a heart attack. She knew Azula was angry and daring, but wasn’t she making things worse by angering the Fae. She thought Azula was smart, unless..... she was doing this on purpose.
"Why the long face?" Azula’s chuckle dripped with sardonic amusent. "Isn’t that what you are? A dog? An obedient animal that follows his master and eagerly awaits the scraps from his table." Her laughter grew louder, fueled by her bitterness.
The dark Fae’s expression twisted with rage, his fury boiling over as he stord towards Azula, closing the distance between them in swift strides. With a swift motion, he decked her hard across the face, the impact echoing through the prison cell.
