Islinda could never forget the unsettling feeling of Aldric taking advantage of her body. It was as if an external force had seized control, leaving her powerless and scared. The anxiety began to creep up within her, evident by the panic in her eyes

"No, no, no..." Islinda pleaded, turning against her own will. She stared up at Aldric, who held her gaze with a steadfast determination. She despised him, hated the audacity he had to control her. She was not his puppet - he couldn’t force her to do anything she didn’t want to do.

Islinda desperately tried to create a ntal barrier, hoping that it would be enough to block him out. However, just like before, she wasn’t strong enough. Aldric penetrated her mind, asserting his control over her.

"Move!" Aldric’s command resonated in her head, and her legs moved on their own accord.

"No, don’t..." Islinda fought with all her might. Sweat ford on her forehead, evidence of her struggle. But the urge to move was overpowering, and she couldn’t resist it. She feared that sothing terrible would happen if she disobeyed.

In the midst of all the dancing and revelry, no one noticed her internal battle. They were all too busy enjoying themselves, oblivious to the psychological warfare taking place within Islinda’s mind.

"Don’t resist, Islinda. You’re only going to hurt yourself," Aldric’s voice echoed aloud in her head, devoid of remorse

"F*ck you!" Islinda gritted her teeth, her body shaking from the effort. She pushed back against him as hard as she could, but her resistance carried little impact.

With horror, Islinda watched as she took step after step, until she was standing directly in front of the grinning Aldric. Despite her death glare, he remained unaffected, seeing her as nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum.

He reached out to caress her cheek, causing her heart to skip a beat. But dread washed over her, knowing what would co next. She pleaded with him, begging him to reconsider. She didn’t want him to kiss her, especially not here where it would draw attention. But the thought of the aftermath terrified her even more.

"I’m sorry, sweet Islinda, but I have no choice," Aldric murmured with a surprising hint of remorse in his eyes.

Tears welled up in Islinda’s eyes. "I don’t want this," she whispered desperately. "I don’t want you to kiss ."

"Sorry," Aldric murmured once more, already leaning close to kiss her.

Islinda heard the startled gasp from the couples at their side who must have picked up what was happening and very soon, every Fae in the room would notice her and Aldric kissing. They would think she had willingly kissed Aldric, without knowing he forced it on her.

No! Islinda refused to be a victim anymore. She would not be used by this selfish, dark, twisted and psychopathic prince. No, she refused to be manipulated anymore.

Raw anger and determination surged through Islinda and just as their lips were about to et, she pushed forward a past mory of her and Valerie doing the nasty.

Aldric winced, a sudden flinch contorting his features as if struck physically. The disruption severed the concentration on Islinda’s mind. Seizing the opportunity, Islinda retracted her arm swiftly and delivered a powerful blow to Aldric’s face with unexpected strength. The audible snap of breaking bones echoed in the air as Aldric’s head snapped to the side under the force of the impactful strike.

When he finally turned her way, Aldric had a hand on his jaw and was staring with wide, shocked eyes as if what happened was unexpected. She was not supposed to land a scratch on him and yet Aldric could feel his broken jaw. How was that possible?

Islinda was stunned as well and stared at her hands as if it were an alien limb on her body. She had felt the extra strength, it was the sa ti as the other ti she had gotten angry. It usually happened in short bursts of extre anger. Could it be....?

No, no way. Humans could do extraordinary things when they were powered up by emotions. She must have been intensely distressed, no wonder she managed to harm him because she desires it so much.

She lifted her face and noticed the entire ballroom staring at them. Even Valerie and his partner looked on with curiosity. A lump ford in her throat as a surge of emotions overwheld her. With anger coursing through her veins, she confronted Aldric, refusing to be his victim any longer.

"Stay out of my head, you despicable bastard, or else I’ll crush you next ti!" she shouted, before fleeing the ballroom in a desperate attempt to escape. She didn’t care where she was going; all she wanted was to get away from these soul-draining Fae creatures.

They relished her misery and she was so done with their drama. None of them cared a di about her. She had been warned about the Fae but experiencing their brutality firsthand was another thing. Islinda did not ask for any of this.

She did not ask to fall in love with a Prince.

She did not ask to be involved with his brother with a split personality.

She did not ask to be dragged into the Fae realm.

She did not ask to be involved in a love triangle.

She did not ask to be the Queen’s target.

She did not ask to be embroidered in this fight between brothers.

She did not ask for all of this?!

As she found herself alone in the quiet garden, Islinda sank to her knees. If she had known the world would turn upside down like this, she would have let Valerie perish that day in the woods.

With no one around to witness her turmoil, Islinda unleashed a scream of frustration. She scread for the injustice of losing her father, the only one who had truly cared for her. She scread at the unfairness of it all, letting out every pent-up emotion within her.

She scread until there was nothing left.
