Aria POV
I couldn’t help but smile at Jaxon’s words as I folded my hands and looked at him. He seed more confident.
"So you really do think I like you, Jaxon?" I questioned again as he shrugged.
"It’s obvious that’s the reason why you went against my dad. Because you want to be with . You are also feeling this pull I am feeling right here," he said as I could not help but burst into loud laughter.
"You are so funny," I said in between my laughter before keeping quiet as I cleared my throat. "So just because I try to help you ans I like you? Fine. I won’t help you anymore. I have done more than enough, and now I leave everything in your hands. I hope you do a perfect job convincing your dad," I said to him and walked into the room.
As I slamd the door, feeling his presence still there, he stood there. I could not help but hiss louder. "Get out from my presence. I don’t want you lurking around . I’m going to tell him that you don’t need around. I am going to stay far away from you and it’s really going to help my peace. And stop saying I felt a pull. For God’s sake. I am just a human. I am not like you guys and your weird mates and pull stuff," I said before going to lay on my bed.
Even though I told him clearly I was going to take a nap and think about it, I could not take a nap. Instead, images of them, their transformation, kept flashing in my mind. How was Mom able to bear with it? She literally saw him change into a monster, and yet she rushed after him trying to calm him down.
"Who calms a beast down?" I questioned myself again, and due to my continuous thinking, I could not rest. Just then, a ssage entered my phone. I picked it up, and it was from my mom about a eting.
"Why? Why do we still have to have a eting? The one we had at the dining table is not enough. Did she want them fighting each other again?" I decided to ignore it, but another one ca in.
"Do not ignore." I growled angrily before standing up as I stord out of the room straight down to the dining table. They were already there except for Jaxon. I took my seat just beside Mom because this ti I was really going to take precautions.
And then I waited as Rick’s gaze was fixed on like he was waiting for to say sothing.
"Do you have any questions? Are you curious to know anything concerning us?" he said.
"I planned on keeping this a secret for a long ti, but I guess I was not able to continue myself around Jaxon," he said as I shrugged.
"I don’t have much questions for now, but after this eting is over, can I just stay away from everybody? I’m tired of you guys continuously forcing to do what I don’t want," I was in between my protest when Jaxon walked into the dining hall and took his seat beside .
I looked at him angrily. "Why are you sitting here?" I murmured as he just ignored .
"Now we have agreed that Aria and Jaxon would stay in the sa school because Jaxon has to protect Aria. Now that everybody knows that you are under my care, they would want to do anything to harm you. Anything to prove that I am not worthy of being a Lycan Alpha," Rick said as I could feel Jaxon’s excitent from beside .
"I thought as much. Finally, you are understanding what I was trying to point out," he said as I knew his words were going to bring nothing but more fight between the both of them.
"Please do, dium Jaxon. Just let finalize everything I want to say," he corrected, and then he continued. "I don’t want you to be around each other. Keep your space. I don’t even want to see you two bickering amongst each other during or after school activities. I don’t want to get any excuse. No matter how strong your midbond is between each other, Jaxon, you have to stay away from Aria no matter what," Rick said as I could not help but giggle.
"I’m beginning to like this plan," I muttered as Jaxon looked at angrily.
"You don’t know how it feels, right? You won’t be able to stay away from , Dad. You know how these things work. You know that staying away from her is a punishnt. What is the use of keeping her in my premises if I can’t even be around her? What is the use of her being my mate if there is no way of cooling down that? That heat, that intensity that cos whenever my gaze falls on hers," he said as I did not understand whatever he was trying to make his father understand.
"You want Aria. You wanted to be around her, right? Fine. Stay around her. That’s your punishnt for being too stubborn."
Even though I felt so happy and glad that everything turned out this way, I could already see that it was going to cause a huge fight between Jaxon and my stepdad.
So I stood up imdiately. "How is he supposed to protect from these people? You say they have their eyes on if you want him to stay away from . I don’t think the distance can work," I said as Jaxon smiled like he was satisfied at my response.
"Why don’t I just leave the premises in total rather than giving Jaxon this much distance? I should just go with your first option. It is better than this torture," I said while hoping deep within that he would just accept I change schools.
"I don’t think I want to be around Jaxon after all."
