Unbeknownst to the storm in the country, Raelle and Shui Xian were in their own paradise. Barefoot, walking side by side on the sand with the sound of the waves behind them and the orange hues of the sun on the distant horizon.
"I didn't think we'd co back here," said Shui Xian.
"This is where we began our honeymoon," started Raelle. "I felt like it's only right to spend our last night back on this island. Why? You don't want that?"
"How is that possible?" Shui Xian held her hand even more tightly as he added, "The place never mattered to . The person by my side has always been the most important. But hearing what you said, I also think it's only fitting to co back to this place on our last night before going back ho. Once we get back, who knows when we'd get the ti to have such a vacation again."
"Does it matter? Isn't it enough that we'd be together every day?"
"Not every day," reminded Shui Xian. "My wife loves her work. How is it possible for us to be together every day? At most, we'll be together every night."
"Don't I do my best to give my weekends to you? Do you have any idea how many business trips I gave up on all because of you? I have never been like this before eting you."
Shui Xian chuckled at her words, "It's okay to go on business trips but occasionally. You can't expect to guard an empty room. It's too lonely."
"My husband is clingy."
"I am," agreed Shui Xian. "And you knew this before you proposed to . So, now, there is no return policy. Just bear with this."
"Who is returning you? And who should I return you to? You better be obedient and just stay as mine. Don't have any other ideas."
"Am I soone who can have such ideas?" Shui Xian looked at her in shock. "I don't change my mind or my feelings that easily."
After playing around like this, they stopped to look at the sunset. With their hands still interlocked, Shui Xian looped his arm over her head and hugged her from behind. He put his chin on her shoulder as they looked at the scene of the sun dipping into the water as if being swallowed by the endless water in front of their eyes. It was fascinating to look at this scene.
"Wife..."
"Hm?"
"Do you know?"
"What?"
"I love you."
"Oh?" Raelle raised her brow at him as she tilted her head to look up at him. "Then do you know?"
"What?" he cooperated with her.
"I love you more."
Shui Xian laughed but still argued, "No way. I am pretty sure that I love you more."
"No. It's definitely ."
"How can you be so sure?"
"I just do. You fell first but I fell harder."
"Wow! Have you been surfing the internet lately, darling?"
"Why? I can't surf the internet now."
Shui Xian kissed her earlobe saying, "When did I say that? You can do whatever you want. And also, I am happy to know that you love more."
"Well, as long as you are happy," said Raelle as she leaned back allowing him better access to her neck where he started dropping kisses like dragonfly skipping over the water surface.
"Raelle?"
"Hm?"
"Are you happy?"
"Huh?"
"I an, it's the first ti for us to spend such a long ti together. Although we have been married for so long, we usually were busy with work or had other things to do. So, spending day and night together was only possible over the weekends. But this ti, we spent a whole month with just the two of us. There were no other distractions. It was just you and I. I am wondering if you got tired of just seeing my face?"
Raelle kissed his chin saying, "I can never get tired of this face. It's impossible to get tired of it in this life."
"You aren't just coaxing right?"
"Am I soone who coax people?" questioned Raelle. "You are just looking for ways to make sweet talk. Stop it."
"Oh, I got caught." He hugged her so tight that it felt like he was gonna knock all the air out of her lungs. But Raelle didn't even react to his possessive desire to always want to rge her body with his own. "Baby, I am happy that I t you."
"I know. You have said that way too many tis."
"Can't I keep saying it for all my life?"
"You can," she replied. "Then keep saying it. I don't mind anyway."
"Thank you for your kindness, your grace!"
"It's okay. I'm feeling generous these days."
They both ended up smiling with her words and turned to walk back. Shui Xian brought her shoes to her and said, "Put them back on. The sand is cold now. It's better not to be barefoot."
Raelle agreed and let him put on her shoes for her. Then they walked through the path made of fairy lights and candles which led to the cozy and romantic space just made for the two of them.
Shui Xian was actually a little surprised, "How co this was organized? It seems like the caretakers of the island need a raise now. They really can read my mind now."
Raelle almost rolled her eyes at him as she pulled him to sit down to eat and said, "It's not the caretakers reading your mind. It's who arranged it for us."
Shui Xian's eyes widened in surprise. "No way. You did it?"
"Why are you looking so surprised? Can't I do it? What's wrong with arranging a date with my husband?"
"Nothing is wrong with it," said Shui Xian. He was just unable to believe that she'd take the initiative to do sothing like this that went against her character. It had always been him arranging such surprises for her so it took him really a while to believe that she was willing to do it for him now. This progress was really unexpected but he loved it.
"Do you like it?"
"Of course, I do," answered Shui Xian. "Anything that you do for , I love it. Anyway, as long as it's just two of us, I'm always happy."
