Although constructing appealing narratives was unquestionable, the power of Kaidan essentially dealt in the sa trade.
Whoever could paint the grandest, most convincing picture wielded greater strength—and in comparison to the so-called destined death, Feng Xue’s cultivation of immortality bore much more truth.
The so-called destiny was nothing more than a pseudo-proposition crafted through unverifiable ans and macro-control, whereas Feng Xue’s cultivation embodied a true path to transcendence.
Yet his so-called cultivation was fundantally high martial arts from Mount Ran Sect.
Yes, high martial arts.
Ever since Feng Xue had obtained the "Supre Martial Arts," his practice of copying secret manuals had never ceased. Even if he didn’t train, he could, through the power of martial arts, dismantle thoughts, insights, and understandings contained therein and then integrate them into his own martial path.
Among them were so that didn’t quite fit with ordinary martial arts.
These unconventional systems in Feng Xue’s possession broadly fell into two categories.
The first was "scientific martial arts," though the term is sowhat misleading—better terd as fantasy science, mainly involving techniques like artificial body modifications, implanting power furnaces, and using high-energy radiation to achieve seemingly high-tech martial arts thods, such as Titanium Golden Body and Uranium Nuclear lting Fist—where even rotating magnetic fields represented an advanced aspect among these, and indeed, Feng Xue had once obtained the Ultimate Unlimited Qi Gong.
The second type is what could be referred to as "mystical martial arts," simple yet singularly focused on cultivating immortality rather than traditional martial arts. Early on, he had drawn the Ten Thousand Transformation Fourteen Swords and high-authored versions of Northern Dark Divine Skill and Carefree Travel, as well as the myriad divine brawl martial arts from manhua versions of Zhang Sanfeng. Among these, the Mount Ran Sect’s Immortal Master techniques were particularly outrageous.
Hidden within the "Six Complete Paths" cultivation technique, Feng Xue held simplified foundational cultivation techniques based on the Mount Ran Sect’s exquisite cultivation thods—"Mysterious Skill" and "All Transformations Return," including a sword technique derived and simplified from the divine-grade swordsmanship, "Ten Thousand Transformation Fourteen Swords."
As for the so-called Secret thod of Stealing Heavenly chanism, apart from giving oneself a scare from high places, it was nothing more than a rather crude, outward-Inward cross training technique. The only difference between it and Golden Bell Shield was that one involved external attacks using fists and weapons, while the other involved bombardnt from within using inner strength. Although grand in scale, its power depended entirely on the amount of inner strength, whose increase would in turn enhance the cross training technique—truly making it impossible to overtrain to death.
Of course, this technique was said to possess a touch of a cultivator’s temperant, yet essentially, it was still martial arts.
(Within Mount Ran, even the seventh-grade techniques involved Sword Control Technique, Five Thunder Spell, Yin Yang Eyes such strange and fantastical elents; not to ntion the Five Ghosts Transfer from ninth grade. Outrageous, isn’t it... But since the protagonist only possesses Supre Martial Arts, the lower-end skills needed to be simplified from scratch.)
But the problem lies in the fact that no one had revealed that it was martial arts; thus, practicing it would result in lightness and health improvent, rejuvenation, eternal youth, and even control over flying with swords—would you consider it martial arts or immortal law?
Not to ntion that Feng Xue often descended on cultivators who had broken through the Qi Refining Realm under the current world rules, using the Poisonous Insect Body to apply psychological suggestions, making them believe they had gleaned various immortal laws from the grand principles.
And when everyone began to believe it could help uncover immortal laws, according to the principles of Kaidan, it beca immortal law.
As for immortality, the Golden Core Path, Crossing Tribulation and Ascending, and such mysteries... Wasn’t it said already? One needs to interpret these from the grand principles themselves; failing to see them ant one’s own realm was insufficient—the book certainly had them!
The more everyone believed the grand principles contained them, the more they actually would—no matter how unbelievable the manifestation might be, they would eventually appear.
For instance, now, when Feng Xue focused on the original docunt of the grand principles for an extended period, he would even enter an illusion realm and see a small old man who looked almost like himself during his tribulation standing in front of a desk, introducing himself with the "Four Great Techniques of Motion and Stillness" and asking what he wanted to learn.
"Should I ask now if I can obtain immortality?"
Hearing Feng Xue’s sarcasm, the immortal-looking old man waved his dust whisk lightly and sighed, "Flowers in the mirror, moon on the water."
"..." Feng Xue looked at her surroundings, contemplated briefly, and said, "So... not learning?"
"Snap!"
The next mont, Feng Xue, bewildered, looked at the illusion in her hand and gently rubbed her head, had she just hit herself?
"So does this imply that I should look at this book again in the middle of the night, or does it an that the current ’cultivators’ cognition only extends as far as imagining the Motion and Stillness Technique, and the rest of the plan hasn’t been fleshed out yet?"
Feng Xue, gazing at the illusion labeled "You’re drawing another pie", imrsed her consciousness yet again into the overview she had written. She was planning on listening to the contents of the four doors under "Motion and Stillness Technique", not to say whether they were good or bad, but couldn’t they at least serve as reference material for the ’Immortal’ power?
... Dream World ...
"Stare—"
Feeling multiple gazes, the detective suddenly jumped up from his bed, looked at his colleagues who were staring at him with piercing eyes, and sowhat embarrassedly scratched his head, smiling as he said,
"Sorry, I’ve had so progress in my cultivation and got a bit too excited, couldn’t sleep well."
"You’ve made progress again?" She Tong looked at the detective incredulously, feeling like the world was conspiring against her. To cultivate properly in reality, she had taken a special trip to the provincial capital and implanted a whole set of suggestive chains in herself, yet her real-world self still kept slacking off. She hadn’t even completed the Qi Refinent yet while the detective boasted, "made so progress" in such a short ti!
You better really an ’just a little’!
"Yeah, today I grasped a set of Sword Control Technique from the ’Motion’ door..."
"Pfft!"
Not just She Tong, but Qing Jin also spat out a mouthful of tea. He had wanted to show off the Feng Shui calculations he had mastered from the ’Flow’ door, but here this guy was, jumping straight to sword control!
"Don’t get too excited, it’s not the kind of sword flying technique. At most, it’s like a boorang, throwing out the sword with True Qi attached and controlling it to fly back."
The detective, though dismissing it with phrases like "at most" and "just that," almost exuded a Versailles-like aura. Even though everyone was new to cultivation, wasn’t this sothing anyone could deduce with a bit of thought?
If one could control the sword to fly back, couldn’t one also control it to fly out with double the force? If one could control it more precisely, couldn’t one make it chop left and right, and with a bit more force, control even heavier items? This was like Mushroom Egg; once you’ve got the little boy, isn’t Big Ivan just a matter of ti?
The most frustrating part was that they couldn’t share their experiences—not because it was sothing that could only be implicitly understood and not explained, but because mories from the dream world simply couldn’t remain in reality. So even if the detective shared the entire triggering process with them, once they returned to reality, they would forget everything!
