"Nothing beats the comfort of one’s own ho!"

Feng Xue stretched lazily upon his return to the Tower of Babylon. Even though his current inco far exceeded his expenses, the sudden decrease in vital energy consumption still invigorated him the mont he returned to Infinite City.

He pulled out his work badge and glanced at the date, only to find it was already early May. The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but turn up slightly.

May, and not just demons cry then!

...

"Mr. Feng, long ti no see!" In the real world, at the entrance to the Beishan District office, Wang Xin, who had t Feng Xue once before, greeted him with a smile.

Feng Xue responded with a smile,

"Long ti no see. I’ve just co back and am planning a trip to the Eastern Country. I also brought so local specialties for you guys."

Upon hearing Feng Xue’s words, a spark of interest flashed in Wang Xin’s eyes. "Oh? Let inform soone right away."

"Much appreciated." Feng Xue nodded and was about to take out the high-tech equipnt he brought back from the Cyberpunk World. However, as he began to unwrap the package, his expression subtly changed, and then, as if nothing was wrong, he grinned and said,

"Sorry, I brought quite a few packages... grabbed the wrong one."

Saying so, he took out a dozen or so packing cloths that looked identical, opened them one after the other, and finally took out this trip’s local specialty—seemingly a...

"A microwave oven?" Wang Xin looked at the item that was as big as a shipping container and couldn’t hide his peculiar expression. Feng Xue shook his head,

"This is a Pseudo Artifact, or what you would call a Magic Item. I brought it back from a Cyberpunk World. You know what cyberpunk is, right?"

"Of course I know, but what exactly is this Pseudo Artifact? It looks like a giant microwave oven?" Wang Xin nodded and his expression grew more solemn as he looked at the "microwave oven." Regardless of whether it ca from a world suspected of high technology, the very fact that it was a "Magic Item" was enough to warrant attention.

"This thing is an air fryer that also has the ability to kill ghosts. But that’s secondary, the main thing is that this appliance has the trait of a Perpetual Motion Machine. I think it could be of substantial use for scientific research, right?"

Wang Xin initially thought the ghost-killing air fryer was a bit silly, but he understood the significance after hearing the latter part.

Even though deriving energy from Magic Items is a matter requiring research, regardless, a "Perpetual Motion Machine" is definitely sothing to care about.

"Is there anything we can do for you?"

Wang Xin’s deanor turned serious. Although he felt he probably wasn’t qualified to handle such a big item, asking now could give the back office more ti to prepare.

"As I said, it’s a local specialty. I don’t have much use for it myself, but if possible, I’d like a regular identity that allows to operate in the Eastern Country, the kind that can enter through normal channels."

Feng Xue casually stated his demands, to which Wang Xin imdiately said,

"Now? But it’s almost June! That’s when the ghost stories of the Eastern Country are at their peak. Wouldn’t it be too dangerous for you to go at this ti?"

"That’s exactly why I’m going. Plus, my door being stuck isn’t right; it needs to be dealt with as soon as possible." Feng Xue’s tone remained unchanged, and upon hearing this, Wang Xin hesitated before saying,

"I need to report this since it’s a dangerous ti, and we need to consider operational risks."

"Understandable." Feng Xue finished speaking and followed Wang Xin to a nearby guesthouse to wait for a response from his superiors. anwhile, he began to ponder.

Although the air fryer was indeed intended as a gift for Yan Country, the local specialty he ntioned wasn’t actually that. It was the chas he had packed from the Cyberpunk World.

The prowess of chanical·World needed a counterpart to be showcased, so he had also entertained the idea of letting Yan Country study so cha technology. However, as soon as he opened the packaging cloths, he realized that those chas had turned into Pseudo Artifacts!

The problem was, when he initially stuffed them into the packing cloths, these chas were undoubtedly True Objects, and even in Infinite City, they remained True Objects.

"Why have they turned into Pseudo Artifacts? If it’s a matter of world transitions, then why do real-world items remain True Objects in other worlds?"

Feng Xue sat on the sofa in the guesthouse, his face thoughtful. While contemplating, he reached into his pouch and pulled out another packing cloth. As the package unfolded, he revealed a few Refined Weapons.

"No problem though, the items I brought from Mystical Lord’s World are all True Objects!" Feng felt there must be sothing he didn’t understand yet, and his first impulse was to call Old Li to ask, but then he rembered that damned Old Li was still running an inn in Mystical Lord’s World, which gave him a headache.

Suppressing the urge to directly invoke Mystical Lord’s Descend rule to go there and ask Old Li, Feng Xue took out a few more packages. He then realized that not everything from the Cyberpunk World had beco Pseudo Artifacts.

For instance, the chocolate he initially pocketed for ghost-killing performances (not an artifact) and cling film hadn’t turned into Pseudo Artifacts.

"Is it a matter of technological disparity? But real-world electrical appliances work in Mystical Lord’s World!"

Feng scratched his head in confusion. Previously, he always believed True Objects were real-world items and Pseudo Artifacts belonged to fantasy worlds, but now that seed not entirely accurate.

At least, objects that were True Objects in Infinite City beca Pseudo Artifacts upon arrival here.

If everything underwent such transformation, he could explain it by considering the Cyberpunk World a fantasy relative to the real world. But now, with only high-tech products like chas, Artificial Bodies, and Virtual Terminals turning into Pseudo Artifacts, he grew extrely curious about the transition rules.

Although he had no evidence, he faintly felt that he might have touched upon a particular "rule."

"People who frequently travel between different worlds in Babylon Tower shouldn’t be unfamiliar with this kind of thing. I’ll ask Old Li later; if he doesn’t know, I’ll ask other residents."

Murmuring in his mind, the door to the room was suddenly knocked on. Feng slightly turned his head and said,

"Co in, the door’s unlocked."

Accompanied by the sound of the door lock, the door opened, revealing a familiar face.

"Why are you here?" Surprised to see Chen Xiyao at the door, Feng Xue was quite taken aback. Xiyao stepped forward with a grin and placed a docunt envelope on the coffee table, speaking with the gravity of a contact person in a TV drama,

"Your request has been approved by the superiors. Here are your identity details for this mission. I’m your partner, responsible for providing you with everything you need on the way. And, even though it’s not part of the mission, if you need to take care of physiological needs, I can help with that too!"
