"So, shall we try sothing thrilling after eating snacks?" Shen Yuan asked while he was munching on the park’s world-famous Cloud Muffin.
Yanyan, who is eating beside him, smacked his lips as he relished the lingering sweetness of the white, moist and tender cake of the Cloud Muffin. "Hmmm. Daddy, shall we try the Gravity Breaker?"
Bai Tingfeng, Bai Weisheng and Rong Suyin choked.
"Gravity Breaker?! That sky-scraper-like roller coaster?!" Rong Suyin exclaid. The way he shook his head was like he just heard his life sentence. "No, absolutely not. There’s no way on earth that we will ride that thing!"
Bai Weisheng laughed. "Your grandson is even more gutsy than you."
Rong Suyin glared at his husband. "No one will mistake you for a mute if you don’t talk. Do you want to tell the story of how you almost passed out—"
Bai Weisheng pushed a spoonful of cake into his husband’s mouth. A fond smile is playing on his lips. "I love you."
"Sluuuurp," Shen Yuan and Yanyan were amusedly watching the old couple’s sweet and funny exchange while slurping their delicious Rainbow Smoothie when suddenly, a staff mber excused themselves and approached their group.
"Anything wrong?" Bai Tingfeng imdiately asked. He tacitly stood up and guided the staff mber to the side, away from his boy’s earshot.
He is not willing to dampen his son’s excitent for today if the reason for the staff’s presence was due to a problem.
Shen Yuan silently followed his husband’s movent; his hearing was 100% committed to eavesdropping.
The staff mber lowered his voice. "There are two guests at the main entrance requesting entry. They were inford that the park has been reserved today, but they are... unwilling to leave."
Shen Yuan cocked his eyebrow upon hearing the concern.
"They are insisting on being allowed inside," the staff mber continued. "They’ve offered to pay half of today’s reservation fee, provided we let them enter and enjoy the park alongside your family."
There was a brief pause.
"Half?" Bai Tingfeng repeated, his tone neutral.
"Yes," the staff mber confird, clearly uneasy. "They claim it would be a waste for such a large park to be used by only one family, and that they are doing us a favor by ’sharing the cost.’"
Shen Yuan snorted, the straw in his smoothie pressing against his smirking lips.
How ironic is it that soone tries to give Bai Tingfeng the favour of sharing the cost when that prick didn’t even blink when shedding millions off his bank account?
Bai Tingfeng remained silent, causing the staff mber to beco tense.
The staff mber gave a strained smile. "They have also begun raising their voices and are drawing attention from nearby security personnel. We wanted to consult you before taking further action."
Bai Tingfeng’s expression did not change, but the temperature around him seed to drop slightly.
The staff shivered.
"I paid for exclusive access," he said calmly. "Did I not?"
"Yes, Sir Bai," the staff mber answered imdiately. "The reservation contract grants you full, private use of the park for the entire day."
"Then my answer is no." Bai Tingfeng’s voice was steady, unmistakable. Shen Yuan was not surprised at his husband’s decision, and in fact, he supported it. He was concerned about the money earlier because he was overwheld at the scale of his husband’s surprise.
But now that he tasted the sweetness and freedom of moving around the amusent park through exclusive access, he was not willing to share the pie with anyone else. Especially to strangers.
"They are not to be let in." Bai Tingfeng added after a beat, closing any room for negotiation. "If they refuse to leave, handle it according to park protocol."
The staff mber straightened. "Understood. We will escort them away."
As the staff mber turned to leave, Shen Yuan clicked his tongue softly.
"Trying to buy their way into soone else’s reservation," he muttered. "So people really have no sense of boundaries."
Rong Suyin and Bai Weisheng, who had long stopped their flirting and eavesdropped with their son-in-law, clicked their tongue.
"People these days don’t have the basic respect for the rules. The more privileged they are, the more self-entitled they beco." Rong Suyin said. He turned to his innocent grandson. "Baby, listen to Dada for a mont."
Yanyan silently put down his cookie, but he resud chewing.
"I want you to promise that you will not grow up to be trash, okay? I don’t want to hear that you turn into an insensitive and entitled brat who uses your family na and wealth to cause inconvenience to other people." Rong Suyin taught his grandson.
Shen Yuan nodded to himself. That was exactly what he had wanted to say. His father-in-law had simply beaten him to it.
He could be a savage bitch to his enemies without a shred of remorse, but he would never raise his child to beco human trash. If Yanyan ever crossed that line, Shen Yuan would correct him in a heartbeat.
But he must admit, knowing there was soone else standing on the sa side, ready to reinforce that lesson, was unexpectedly comforting.
"Don’t worry, Dada. I will not be bad like that!" Yanyan jumped on his seat. His cute chipmunk cheeks are bouncing like little balls.
Shen Yuan, Rong Suyin and Bai Weisheng laughed at the boy’s cuteness.
"What a pair of clowns," Bai Tingfeng muttered under his breath as he reclaid his seat.
Shen Yuan felt like teasing his husband; he said with an annoying smile. "Don’t you want to see who they are first? See if they are your friends? I an, they should be familiar faces since there are only a few people who could whip up tens of millions of yuan on the spot, and you must be acquainted with them."
Bai Tingfeng shook his head. "Why should I waste my ti on them? We are here to have fun without caring about the outside world."
"Well, son." Rong Suyin wiped his mouth clean. "Watching jerks make a ss with their lives is fun, too."
"Dad?" Bai Tingfeng looked at his oga dad in utter disbelief.
Rong Suyin snapped in righteous indignation, "What? I am just curious. Besides, I just finished eating and had to let my stomach digest my food before running around. I think watching them escorted out of the premises would be a great way to pass the ti."
"Dad. You are feeling gossipy. Just admit it."
Rong Suyin choked back his words. Well, he can’t really disprove that. That’s a bull’s eye.
"There’s nothing wrong with being gossipy!" Shen Yuan smartly defended his in-law. "Especially if the issue could serve a moral lesson. Ask Yanyan. What did your Dada tell you earlier?"
"To not be an insensitive and self-entitled brat," Yanyan answered without blinking. "Papa, what happens to an insensitive and self-entitled brat when they get punished?"
Bai Tingfeng leaned against his chair, speechless.
"Let’s do a field observation to answer that question!" Shen Yuan smiled like the sunshine was coming out through the gaps of his teeth.
