Earth, New York.
On the Cyber Yacht.
After wearing little Hela out until she was too weak to move, Lorien tossed her into a bedroom to sleep.
When he stepped back out, the deck was dotted with beads of water, trailing together like a walking path.
Of course, that couldn’t have been from Lorien. It could only have been from the one who’d done the walking.
So he lifted his hand and snapped his fingers.
"Snap~"
In an instant, all traces vanished.
Lorien then stretched out on a deck chair to enjoy the sun. Under its rays, he could feel a steady flow of energy pouring into his body—so much he couldn’t possibly use it all up.
"Whew~~~"
Hands tucked behind his head, he let out a long breath.
"Feels good."
The ocean stretched out before him, the sun blazed above him!
With a wave of his hand, a chilled bottle of milk tea appeared at his side.
"Sluuurp~"
After taking a sip, Lorien lay back with a grin. Life was bliss.
Last night was all about sex gas; this morning was more bedroom practice.
He hadn’t managed to split them into clones yet, but with ti and consistency, he knew it would co. No need to rush—there was plenty of ti.
"Ding~~~"
His sharp ears caught a ringtone.
A call. But not from his phone.
He listened again—it was coming from Gwen’s bag. Her phone.
"Whoosh!"
Lorien vanished and reappeared by her backpack, pulling out the phone to check.
"George Stacy."
Damn, Gwen’s dad.
Lorien scratched his head, glancing at Gwen, still curled up with Wanda.
No helping it.
He patted Gwen, wrapped her in a towel, and carried her out onto the deck to let the sea breeze wake her a bit before showing her the phone.
"Gwen, it’s George."
"Huh... huh!?"
Her eyes snapped wide. She grabbed the phone from Lorien’s arms and answered.
"Hello?"
"Gwen, where were you today? I ca ho for lunch and you weren’t there."
"Uh... I was at the band’s place. Even though I quit, I still wanted to drop by and check in."
Her voice didn’t waver much, but her body told another story. The hand not holding the phone kept roaming restlessly over Lorien’s clothes.
Yeah, definitely nerves.
"The band? You’ve got your Academic Aptitude Test tomorrow and you’re still running around?"
The Academic Aptitude Test—that was basically the Arican college entrance exam. Along with it, there were two other assessnts, all rolled together.
"Don’t worry, George." Gwen glanced at Lorien and smiled. "I promise I’ll get into a good university."
"And honestly, the reason I’ve been coming ho late sotis is because Lorien’s been tutoring . According to him, I can pick from almost any university in the country."
She finished with a playful wink at Lorien.
Smart girl. Not only covering her tracks, but also boosting Lorien’s standing in George’s eyes.
Lorien gave her a thumbs-up... and a quick squeeze.
"Really? That’s wonderful!" George sounded relieved. "I was actually considering writing a couple of recomndation letters to send to so universities. Looks like I don’t need to now. You must thank Dr. Su properly."
Gwen swatted Lorien’s hand away, only to stiffen again at George’s words.
"George!"
In Arica, getting into college was easy for locals. But getting into a good college? That was tough.
Community college required no exams—just enroll, study two years, done. Then there were liberal arts colleges, the standard universities that required entrance tests.
For most Aricans, higher education was accessible. But top schools were another matter.
As NYPD’s commissioner, George Stacy’s recomndation carried serious weight. With it, most universities would wave Gwen straight in.
Exams? Just fill in the blanks. Admission guaranteed. Graduation guaranteed. At a pretty solid school, too.
But to Gwen, that was insulting. What, you think I can’t do it myself? That I need a recomndation letter?
"Hahaha~~~"
George was clearly in high spirits, laughing as he said,
"Thank Mr. Lorien for first.
"When you finish your exams, if you get into a good university, invite him over for dinner. Your mother and I need to thank him properly, understood?"
Gwen glanced at Lorien.
He nodded—it didn’t matter. Sooner or later, he’d have to et her parents anyway.
From his point of view, even facing his future mother-in-law, he had every right to say: Sit up straight. Pin it up!
Cough cough.
Seeing his nod, Gwen replied into the phone,
"I know, he’ll agree."
"When he cos over for dinner, make sure you cook sothing nice!"
Even though she said that, Gwen still raised her little fist and gently tapped Lorien twice.
Your daughter is already his, what are you worrying about entertaining him for? That’s enough.
"That’s for sure," George agreed without hesitation. Then he suddenly added,
"Alright, my break’s over, I need to head back to the station.
"Rember to co ho early today and get a good rest. You need to be in top shape for tomorrow’s exam."
Gwen nodded.
"Got it, I’ll head back this afternoon."
Beep...
After hanging up, Gwen turned halfway around and straddled Lorien, saying,
"So, what do you think?
"When we go to my house, should we tell George about us?"
Lorien actually understood.
There was no way George didn’t already know about his daughter’s relationship with him. The excuses Gwen had used before were all tied to Lorien, and her father had agreed to them. Especially now that she had brought up tutoring.
So once Lorien visited Gwen’s house, that would naturally beco an opportunity to make things official.
But Lorien didn’t mind. The stronger his own position, the less worried he needed to be in situations like this. It was the sa anywhere.
So he gave her another playful squeeze and said,
"It’s up to you, Gwen."
"If you want your parents to know, then let them know."
"If you don’t, then keep it to yourself."
"It’s your call, because they’re your parents."
Gwen nodded. This ti, she didn’t resist his touch.
"Alright, I’ll test the waters with George and Mom these next few days. If it feels right, I’ll tell them."
Lorien shifted from pinching to kneading, almost like flattening dough for buns or dumplings.
"And if it doesn’t feel right?"
"Then I’ll really run away from ho!!"
Gwen bared her little fangs, gave a defiant hum, and said,
"Anyway, once I’m in college, I can live outside. By then, whether they agree or not won’t matter."
Perfectly harmonious and rebellious—exactly the kind of family drama foreigners like to imagine about Arican youth.
Lorien teased her again, making Gwen’s body tremble, then laughed and asked,
"So, what do you want to do in college? Just study normally, form a team, join a lab? Or maybe start a company?"
College in Arica really was flexible. With approval from an advisor or professor, you could get into a lab early or form a team for projects. Plenty of people had done it. In fact, many of the Forbes billionaires had started out that way. Which only made more students try to follow the sa path.
Of course, it wasn’t that simple anymore. But as long as you could prove you had the ability, it was still possible.
Gwen bit her lip, enduring Lorien’s teasing while thinking it over.
"I... want to focus on studying first, then gradually form a team. Eventually, I’ll start a company, build my own lab, and lead my own team."
"Not bad, not bad."
Lorien held her waist firmly to keep her from wriggling away, then pressed,
"And what about the na of the company? Have you thought of one yet? That’s sothing you should decide early."
Gwen grit her teeth. Her head was spinning too happily to think straight, but she still forced herself to answer,
"It’ll have to do with life—whether chanical life or biological life—so let’s call it the Life Foundation."
Life Foundation?
Lorien’s hands didn’t stop, but his heart skipped a beat. Wasn’t that the na of the villain’s company in the Venom movie?
Ahem, whatever.
"Sure, let’s go with that. If there’s already a company with that na, we’ll just buy it out and rena it as ours."
By now, Gwen’s eyes were nothing but hearts. She probably couldn’t even hear what Lorien was saying anymore, only nodding again and again like an obedient kitten.
"Yes, yes, whatever you say. You’re right about everything. Do whatever you want."
"Gwen? Gwen?"
Lorien called to her.
She leaned back, abs flexing under the sunlight for him to admire.
"Don’t say anything... it’s all fine, just fuck !"
...
By noon, Gwen had taken another nap, waking up around the sa ti as Wanda.
The two of them changed clothes and went out to the deck of the Cyber Yacht to sunbathe.
"Wow~~~"
Wanda spread her arms wide toward the sun. She looked around the vessel, astonished by the sheer luxury and futuristic design.
"This... there’s no way a modern yacht could be built like this, right?"
Gwen also glanced around.
The yacht’s curves and straight edges blended seamlessly. Pools, bar, deck, lounge, entertainnt spaces—everything was included. It was like a massive luxury apartnt complex transplanted onto the ocean.
And that was exactly what it was. As long as food supplies held, there was nothing you could possibly lack here.
"This feels like alien tech. And it can even go invisible—it’s all high-tech."
She was right. From the outside, the yacht was completely invisible, but from inside, everything looked normal.
Not to ntion that Lorien had already buffed it last night.
Now, it was even better.
"You could call it alien technology, but honestly, it’s not all that advanced."
Lorien walked over to the bar, pulled a bottle of wine from the chilled storage, and poured each of them a glass.
"This is just an entertainnt facility. No offensive capabilities."
He then led Gwen and Wanda into the cockpit. The three of them examined the control panel together—only to realize sothing was off. The yacht did have offensive capabilities.
Its top was built from a special super-alloy tal, paired with the engine’s imnse power. At full acceleration, the impact would be strong enough that no sea structure, not even an aircraft carrier, could withstand a single strike.
It even had the ability to self-detonate its engines.
Good grief.
So it’s basically built for suicide attacks?
"My last resort, huh..."
Lorien sighed helplessly and shut down the panel.
Gwen and Wanda laughed.
"Then let’s call this yacht ’Don’t ss with ,’ or else we’ll crash and burn right in front of you."
Lorien gave them a thumbs-up.
"Perfect."
So he said directly,
"Rena the yacht: Don’t ss with ."
"Huh?"
Gwen and Wanda looked confused. Who was he talking to?
The next second, the yacht’s intelligent system responded in a female voice.
"Yes. Na change successful. From now on, you may call : Don’t ss with ."
Lorien couldn’t hold back his laughter, and once Gwen and Wanda realized what had happened, they burst out laughing too.
It was clearly a feminine AI system, speaking in a woman’s voice... yet saddled with such a ridiculous na.
Shaking his head, Lorien continued,
"Don’t ss with , upgrade Wanda, Gwen, and Hela to level one permissions."
"Yes. Collecting data."
A faint blue light swept across the yacht, scanning everything. All fingerprints from last night and this morning, every trace left behind by anyone who had co into contact with the yacht—all collected instantly.
"Fingerprint collection complete.
Eye, facial, and voice data collection complete.
Would you like to add hidden commands?"
Lorien waved his hand dismissively.
"No need."
"Understood. Level one permissions upgrade complete."
And with that, the process ended.
"Wow~~~! She’s so smart!" Gwen’s eyes sparkled as she watched the whole thing.
Wanda tilted her head curiously.
"Don’t ss with , what permission level does Lorien have?"
"Supre authority: Level 0. Above all other permissions. All commands must yield to supre authority."
"Uh-huh..."
Lorien shrugged at the two girls. At least the system knew who the real boss was.
...
With permissions set, the three of them returned to the deck to enjoy the sun and sea breeze.
Gwen gazed out at the water.
"We’ve got half a day left. What should we do?"
Wanda thought for a mont.
"Fishing? Swimming? Barbecue? Whale watching?"
At the last suggestion, Gwen’s eyes lit up. She imdiately turned to Lorien.
"Let’s go whale watching! Can we find one?"
Whales?
Hearing that, Lorien suddenly rembered.
Didn’t he have a massive whale being raised near one of the islands? Damn, it had been ages since he last checked on it. He really should take a look. And while at it, he might as well introduce it to the girls—better than having them stumble upon it one day and kill it.
"Forget whales. I’ll take you to see a pet I keep in the Pacific."
"Don’t ss with , set destination: Pacific Ocean. Begin sailing."
Lorien waved his hand, imbuing the yacht with temporal acceleration. Even at normal cruising, it could now travel anywhere between 10 kiloters and 100,000 kiloters in an hour.
Gwen and Wanda exchanged puzzled looks.
"A pet? In the Pacific Ocean?"
Gwen frowned slightly at the phrasing.
"You’re sure it’s a pet?"
"It’s a pet." Lorien nodded, taking a sip of wine. He held out his hands to illustrate. "Just... a bit big."
Wanda asked carefully,
"How big?"
"Uh..." Lorien thought for a mont. "Not as big as the Transforrs."
The two won nodded. That sounded reasonable. Transforrs weren’t bigger than whales, after all.
Except... the Transforrs Lorien was thinking of were the Elders, not the newer ones.
"Let’s gooo~!" Gwen waved happily at the ocean. "To the Pacific! Let’s see the big fish!"
Wanda, anwhile, opened a scarlet portal, stepped through, and ca back carrying sothing. She handed a small bottle to Lorien.
"Help with sunscreen. I can’t reach my back."
Mission accepted—I’ll get it done!
