The Calm Before the Storm

"According to the data detected by Mysterio, the strength of the combined elents will far exceed their previous individual forms. When they appear in London, it will inevitably cause a terrible disaster."

Nick Fury looked grim. After witnessing the destructive power of the individual Elentals firsthand, he now fully believed in their existence.

Moreover, the data detected by Mysterio and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s equipnt was too real to be faked.

"You ca to so that I could help you again?"

Wanda Maximoff had already figured out why he was here before he even said it.

The forr head of the Avengers initiative, after five years, no longer carried the sa authority. The only people who could still rely on him were herself and the young Spider-Man.

"Yeah. This ti, it might really be the end of the world. The war with Thanos was only a few months ago—people can't handle another catastrophe so soon. And Tony and Steve..."

Nick Fury hesitated, knowing Wanda might refuse, so he rushed to say as much as possible.

"Stop talking. I'll go to London with you."

Wanda cut him off before he could bring up her fallen friends again.

Even if Nick Fury hadn't said it, she would have gone to prevent another disaster.

She still wanted to live on this planet with the people she cared about.

"For what it's worth, I appreciate it—for the people of London, I an. You're a lot more reliable than Peter Parker. I haven't been able to contact him at all."

"et downstairs in an hour."

Nick Fury checked his watch, opened the door, and was about to step out when he suddenly turned back to Finn and said, "Wanda, this kid can't go. The end of the world never lacks collateral damage."

"Don't worry, I have no intention of being

there " Finn replied indifferently.

He already knew that the Elentals' combined form was nothing more than an elaborate spectacle staged by Mysterio—a delusion of grandeur, an attempt to play the world's savior and claim the title of superhero.

He had far more important things to do than get involved in that ss.

"It's fine," Wanda assured. "He'll stay at the hotel like a good boy."

She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Finn's lips, sealing the promise.

"Motherfucker . Even witches are all loved-up these days."

Nick Fury groaned at the blatant display of affection before slamming the door behind him.

As his footsteps faded away, the two people in the room returned to their bedroom. The thought of the Elentals' return and the upcoming mission left Wanda unable to sleep.

She sat on the edge of the bed, watching Finn, who was idly scrolling through his phone. His sharp features, chiseled jawline, and perfectly sculpted face made it impossible to look away.

Unlike the average guy, Finn had an unusual mix of rugged masculinity and soft, expressive eyes—dangerous yet comforting all at once.

He wasn't the kind of man whose appearance would captivate at first glance. Instead, he was the type that beca more and more irresistible the longer one looked.

Noticing Wanda's lingering gaze, Finn smirked, putting his phone down. "Witch, aren't you being a little too obvious?"

"You can look at , but I can't look at you?" Wanda shot back, her cheeks turning slightly pink. "If it bothers you, then just stare back."

Finn chuckled but didn't look away.

A mont later, Wanda's expression softened, and she hesitated before asking, "Are you not mad that I keep running off like this?"

"Why would I be mad?"

Finn raised an eyebrow.

"Because every ti we plan sothing nice together, it gets interrupted by another Avengers mission. And now I'm leaving for London again."

She lowered her gaze. "Being with ... you might never get to have an ordinary life like everyone else."

She had long accepted her fate. Ordinary life had never been an option—not for her. From childhood to adulthood, she had always been different.

No matter how many tis she told Fury not to co to her, she could never truly turn her back when the world was on the brink of disaster.

"Wanda, real life is about living a life that makes sense to you. And for , being with you makes sense."

Finn reached for her hand, his touch reassuring.

"So no matter what happens in the future, I won't get tired of it."

"Really?"

Wanda's clear, beautiful eyes searched his.

"Of course. There's an old saying—'those who lie to their true love will get struck by lightning.'"

Finn nodded solemnly.

"Don't make oaths like that!"

Wanda's heart ward at his words. She smiled and squeezed his hand. "Before I leave for London, let's have an afternoon tea together."

"Sounds good."

Finn smiled as she tugged him along.

A Mont of Peace

The open-air restaurant beneath their hotel was surrounded by towering trees, their branches thick and full despite the changing seasons.

The cool autumn air carried a crisp freshness, making the atmosphere all the more pleasant.

Finn and Wanda sat at a small table, the golden sunlight filtering through the leaves.

"classic."

Finn took the plate from the waiter and handed one to Wanda.

"Scones?"

Wanda looked at the baked pastry, slightly crumbly and golden-brown, with clotted cream and jam on the side. She was intrigued. "I've never had them before."

"Try it with so cream and jam."

Just as Finn finished speaking—

Wanda took a bite, accidentally grazing her tongue over his fingertips in the process.

"Ahem—"

Finn stiffened as the warmth of her tongue slid across his skin. He instinctively swallowed hard.

"Sorry! I didn't an to—"

Wanda's face turned red.

Her tongue had barely brushed against him, but for so reason, the sensation had sent a jolt through her entire body.

More importantly, she had just licked Finn's fingers.

How embarrassing.

What if he thought she was trying to seduce him?

But then, as she glanced up at him—

She froze.

Why did it feel like he didn't mind?

Actually, why did it feel like he enjoyed it?

It was one thing for soone to have a thing for legs or hands... but tongues? That was new.

"Witch, why are you looking at like that?"

Finn noticed her expression and sighed.

It was an accident, nothing more. He swore he wasn't thinking about anything weird.

Really.

"Uh-huh."

Wanda nodded slowly, but her face said I don't believe you at all.

Before Finn could defend himself further, a voice interrupted them.

"Finn. Wanda. What a coincidence. What are you doing here?"

Finn's expression darkened.

He didn't even need to turn around to know who it was.

Agatha Harkness.

"Agnes?" Wanda blinked in surprise.

"My relatives live in an apartnt nearby. I didn't expect you two to be staying here."

With a warm smile, Agatha pulled out a chair and sat beside them. "Would you like to have dinner together tonight?"

"No, I'm leaving for London later," Wanda declined.

"You're going to London?"

Agatha frowned slightly.

Were they on so kind of world tour?

"No. Just Wanda. I'll be staying here."

Finn clarified.

"I see."

Agatha's tension visibly eased. But as she lowered her head, her expression darkened, her true intentions barely concealed.

Finally, they were separating.

She had always been wary of them together. Taking on both of them at once had been too risky. But now?

Now, Finn was alone.

And Wanda... Wanda wouldn't even know what hit her.

Agatha smiled, her expression as sweet as ever.

"Wanda, I hope you have a safe trip."
