"Is that so? You won't know unless you try."

Magneto was clearly not soone who would give up easily.

The reason Charles and the others had managed to interfere with Magneto's plan so smoothly this ti was entirely due to Qin Xiao's information.

Over the past few days, Tony had been conducting investigations here.

Not only that, he had deliberately flown over the area, testing the limits of Magneto's control.

They had even considered rescuing Rogue ahead of ti.

But Magneto had kept her hidden, and they had no idea where she was.

Left with no choice, they could only wait until he brought Rogue out before making their move.

Magneto had also tried sending Mystique to destroy Charles's Cerebro.

Unfortunately, Charles had already taken precautions and simply stopped using it.

He didn't even rely on Cerebro to locate Rogue.

Since they already knew Magneto's ultimate goal, they only needed to wait.

Charles's caution had made Magneto realize, even before things began, that failure was likely.

Because he knew just how terrifying Charles truly was.

His helt could protect himself—but not the people around him.

Even so, he still wanted to try. The opportunity was too rare.

Originally, he thought only Charles and his team would co to stop him.

But who was that person in the sky?

Why did they also know about his plan?

Was this Charles's reinforcent?

Questions swirled endlessly in his mind.

But it didn't matter. He had already prepared a way out.

This had only ever been a test.

As soon as Magneto finished speaking, he manipulated tal to bind Sabretooth.

Knowing Sabretooth's abilities, he wouldn't give him a chance to act.

Not only that—even Mystique at his side wasn't spared.

If Charles could control one, he could control the other.

Then, a long piece of tal shot into the sky under Magneto's control—a spear aid directly at Rogue.

"Charles, if you make a move, she dies."

Magneto used Rogue's life as leverage.

The mont Charles made any move, the spear would pierce her.

The situation instantly froze.

At the very least, Charles knew—Magneto would absolutely follow through.

After decades of rivalry, he understood him better than anyone.

"Wuuuu—"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

At that mont, the sound of energy gathering echoed through the sky.

Iron Man's repulsors fired in rapid succession.

The tal spear under Magneto's control was blasted away.

Not only that—Tony's attack struck directly at where Magneto was standing.

This surprise attack ca at the perfect mont.

The ground beneath Magneto suddenly gave way.

His body staggered—and then he quickly used his powers to levitate in midair.

"Looking for death? Don't you care about her life?"

Magneto once again controlled tal, sending it stabbing toward Rogue.

He intended to show this mysterious figure that he wasn't bluffing.

But just then, beams of light shot upward from below.

Cyclops!

His optic blasts were even more destructive than Tony's repulsors.

Under that level of power, the tal was blown away once again.

In that instant, Tony hadn't just destroyed Magneto's footing—he had also opened a path, allowing those below to see the situation above clearly.

Because of that, Cyclops could accurately target the tal.

With this move, Tony completely disrupted all of Magneto's calculations.

He beca the key factor in the battle.

Magneto, however, wasn't angry.

In truth, he wasn't willing to kill Rogue.

Though it seed like he was striking to kill, none of his attacks targeted her vitals.

Because he had already prepared for failure.

And Rogue was far too valuable.

If this attempt failed—there would always be a next ti.

At that mont, the others from below rushed up.

Storm, Jean Grey, and Wolverine.

The three of them imdiately moved to take Rogue away.

The mont Magneto saw Wolverine, his expression changed.

"So the demon's envoy is involved as well? No wonder you were prepared."

He instantly understood why Charles's team knew about his plan.

It must have been the demon informing its envoy.

What he couldn't understand was—why the envoy would interfere.

Then a thought crossed his mind.

Could it be that too many mutants would disrupt the balance for Devil Fruit users?

"This is my personal matter—it has nothing to do with the envoy.

Rogue was taken on my watch. Do you think I'd just give up on her?"

Wolverine extended his claws and instantly cut through the tal chains binding Rogue.

"I don't believe the envoy knew nothing about this."

Magneto clearly didn't buy his explanation.

After all, Wolverine was the envoy's agent.

"It doesn't matter anymore. You know as well as I do—on your own, you can't succeed."

Charles spoke through Sabretooth, trying to persuade him.

"I know this attempt has failed.

But I want to know one thing—who exactly is that person in the sky who ruined my plan?"
