Chapter 810: "Negotiation"After enjoying a lunch prepared by Martha at the farm, Clark and Jerry flew to the temporary combat headquarters outside tropolis.

Clark had changed into the Kryptonian battle suit of the House of El, which he had retrieved from the Kryptonian exploration ship.

This was the iconic Superman suit with the S logo and cape. However, unlike Jerry's traditional image of Superman wearing red underwear over his suit, this universe's Superman outfit was more practical and less flashy.

The suit, originating from Krypton—a highly advanced technological planet—was crafted by Clark's biological father, Jor-El, the greatest scientist on Krypton.

It was more than just decorative. Using an analysis magic circle, Jerry scanned the suit and found it to be not only indestructible and tough but also bulletproof, resistant to extrely high temperatures, and capable of withstanding absolute zero.

Even though Superman himself is nearly invulnerable and impervious to nuclear bombs, he has a notable weakness in magical energy. The material of his battle suit could mitigate magic attacks to so extent.

This was why Jerry, despite his formidable magic abilities, remained cautious of Zod and other Kryptonians. Although Zod and his soldiers might not have suits as advanced as Superman's, their suits were made with the sa advanced technology.

These powerful suits, however, shared a critical weakness with Kryptonians—they could be cut by kryptonite. Jerry didn't have any kryptonite at hand. If he did, he could use a transformation spell to produce large quantities of it, making it much easier to fight the Kryptonians.

Unfortunately, in this universe, kryptonite wasn't present on Earth. Its origin was tied to the Kryptonian World Engine, which left kryptonite as a byproduct when transforming a planet.

The kryptonite that Batman and Luthor found in the Indian Ocean in the movie was from Zod's attempt to terraform Earth using the World Engine.

Before leaving to et General Swanwick, Jerry started a small talk with Clark, "Nice suit. I heard the letter on your chest symbolize "Hope." It's true for the fact that you are currently, Earth's hope."

Hearing Jerry's words made Clark surprised; he was considering asking how Jerry knew such aning when he was not a Kryptonian himself. Instead, he smiled at Jerry, "Is there anything you don't know?"

The feeling inside Clark's heart turned for the better, he took Jerry's words as an encouragent and assurance that Jerry had his back when everything goes down.

When they finished preparing, they finally took off to the command center.

At the combat command center, the sight of Jerry and Clark floating above imdiately caught everyone's attention.

Weapons locked onto them, and soldiers looked on in amazent at the two figures hovering without any visible support.

A mont later, a black car, escorted by several combat jeeps, approached Jerry and Clark. General Swanwick stepped out of the car, his gaze shifting between the two floating figures.

"Very good, you've successfully gotten my attention. I need to know, which one of you is the alien? Or are you both aliens?" he asked, puzzled.

The man on the left, Jerry, was dressed in normal human clothes, resembling the description provided by the FBI agent who had taken Lois away.

anwhile, Clark, in his Superman suit, stood out unmistakably as soone extraordinary.

As for the man on the right, his attire did not resemble anything a typical Earthling would wear, leaving General Swanwick uncertain about which of the two was the alien.

Seeing the commander-in-chief of the base appear, Clark and Jerry slowly landed on the ground.

"I am Kal-El, the one Zod is looking for and the alien you are searching for. He is my Earthling friend, not an alien," Clark introduced himself.

Jerry added casually, "Yes, my na is Jerry Carn, a pure Earthling and a magician from Gotham. You just saw

floating in the air; that's a magic performance technique. His ability to float is an alien superpower."

General Swanwick's mouth twitched at this.

He didn't buy Jerry's claim that what he had just seen was a magic performance. Floating in the air, freezing fifteen elite federal agents, and teleporting soone away were hardly typical magic tricks.

However, now was not the ti to investigate Jerry's identity, as there was little ti left before the twenty-four hours ntioned by General Zod were up.

They needed to escort Kal-El, the alien, to a designated location to prevent a war.

"What do you want?" General Swanwick asked Clark seriously.

Clark replied, "I am willing to surrender and will not resist, but there are two conditions you must agree to."

"What conditions?" General Swanwick's expression relaxed slightly. As long as the other party was willing to surrender and not resist, the situation was half-resolved.

Otherwise, with both of them capable of flying and one able to teleport, capturing them would be extrely difficult.

"First, you must ensure that you will not cause trouble for Lois and cancel her charges of treason. Second, I need my friends to accompany ," Clark stated.

General Swanwick thought for a mont and then nodded in agreent. These conditions seed reasonable and insignificant compared to the peace of Earth.

"No problem. I will even do my best to assist her and your family in safety," General Swanwick replied.

After negotiating the conditions, General Swanwick signaled to his adjutant, and soon, a team of fully ard soldiers approached Clark.

The leading captain took out a pair of handcuffs and cuffed Clark's hands. Clark shook his head but did not resist. The handcuffs seed as fragile as paper to him, but if wearing them would reassure the humans, he was willing to comply.

The captain then took out a pair of gloves and attempted to place them on Jerry.

However, Jerry was not as accommodating as Clark. With a snap of his fingers, he turned the gloves into paper.

"I'm not an alien, and I haven't committed any cri, so don't handcuff . You are maliciously depriving

of my freedom. I will find a lawyer and sue you if you keep mistreating ," Jerry declared.

Superman wanted to establish a good relationship with the human governnt and earn their trust, but Jerry had no such need.

Even if the entire human governnt issued a warrant for his arrest, it would have no effect on him. So, he saw no reason to be compliant.

The captain looked at the paper handcuffs in his hands, then turned to General Swanwick in confusion. General Swanwick's mouth twitched again, and he shook his head gently.

Of course, he was not afraid that Jerry would find a lawyer to sue him, because he was backed by the president, and this was for the safety of the entire human race, so special cases could be treated accordingly.

But now, it is obviously not appropriate to make trouble, and the other party is not a persimmon that can be easily manipulated. If a conflict occurs, it will affect the connection with General Zod later.

So, on the way back to the headquarters, Clark was handcuffed and the soldiers grabbed his arms to prevent him from escaping, while Jerry was swaggering, feeling like he was returning to his own ho.
