The next day, I wasn’t in a haste to go back to the Enchanted Forest, instead, I took so ti and spent it teaching Tam the basics of Demonic Power.

Thankfully, the kid was smart enough to at least learn them at an average pace.

I can’t say Tam is talented but let’s just put him sowhere around above average in terms of magical talent.

I was also tempted to train him in physical combat but upon realizing that he’s practically ten tis stronger than an average adult male, I decided to postpone it for now and focus on his magical studies.

Now, the kid knows how to form a basic mystic whip.

Of course, I didn’t spend my entire ti teaching Tam as I dedicated so ti to myself, trying to see if I could sohow replicate so of Kamar-Taj’s magic spells through the demonic power’s imaginative-based spell creation.

My first on the list is obviously the Mirror Dinsion, one of the most advanced spells in Kamar-Taj that only Master Sorcerers are able to learn.

This spell is kind of like a graduation spell, by learning it, you’ll be recognized as Kamar-Taj master sorcerer.

Although this isn’t official but with how hard and ti-consuming it is to learn Mirror Dinsion, it beca a stepping stone for sorcerers to beco Masters.

So now, it will also beco my stepping stone to fully acknowledge myself as a Master Sorcerer and perhaps once I successfully established the Masters of the Mystic Arts in this world.

‘I feel like I’m near creating the Mirror Dinsion spell.’ I muttered to myself as I stared at the small shard of broken space in front of , the broken shard of space looks small and obviously not large enough for a human to enter.

During the creation of the spell, I have to study dinsions first and how they ca to be.

Thankfully, I was granted easy access to the Sitri library, so a simple portal spell was enough for to gather the books I need without getting Serafall’s attention.

Piling the books in front of , it took quite a while to finish them all, however upon completion, I didn’t resu studying Mirror dinsion, instead I went to the Enchanted Forest to continue my magical studies with Sylphie.

“You’re late. I’ve been waiting since this morning.” Crossing her arms, Sylphie tapped her foot on the ground as she furrowed her eyebrows.

“….I apologize? I’ve been busy self-studying.”

“Self-studying? How diligent. Alright then, let’s resu our yesterday’s studies and as I promised last night, I will teach you how to hide the presence of your demonic energy, making you appear as if a normal human in front of other supernatural beings.”

“I assu being a devil has its downsides, such as slling like one?” Sylphie smirked, knowing one of the bigger problems that devils like experience.

“That’s why, this technique will be very important to you.”

With that being said, the magical studies resud, lasting until night ti.

At this ti, I finally decided to tell her about my Sanctum proposal.

“You want to establish a Sanctum in the forest? For what exactly?” Sylphie confusedly asked. I can see her contemplating if I have hidden intentions for it.

“No, I’m not planning to expand the territory of devils in the human world. Rember when we first t and I said that I love humans?”

“Yes. So what you’re saying is that they’re real? I thought you only said those because you don’t want to kick your ass.” Sylphie suddenly smirked.

Oh great, now she’s using the sa words as I am.

You know how you can’t swear in front of children because they would copy you?

Guess what, that’s the situation right here, it seems like my vulgar words have influenced the future Elf Queen of Alfheim.

“That’s not the point here, teacher. What I’m trying to say, is because of my love and tender care for humans, I realized that they can’t protect themselves from…us.” As soon as I finished my words, the surroundings grew quiet, Sylphie went silent as her mind processed my words.

“…As much as I hate to disagree with you but you are right. However, why humans? Why do you love them and even go as far as protect them from the supernatural side of the world.” This ti, it was my turn to go silent.

She was right. Why did I even want to do this?

As if sensing that I’m troubled inside, Sylphie nodded her head at her fellow Elves and they both left alone to contemplate, which I’m grateful about.

Now that I’m alone to register her words, I went deeper about the question.

Why do I care about humans? Why do I want to protect them?

Is it really because I love them, or because I used to be a human? Or maybe I just want to walk the sa path as the Ancient One back in the Marvel Universe.

Or I just want to have a purpose in this world.

Looking back at my journey ever since I ca here, I felt loss. As if I’m walking on a path that has a blurry destination.

“God dammit.” I muttered to myself.

“You called , grandson?” Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice behind . Surprising .

“God?” Turning around, I saw the sa familiar old face grinning at .

“It is I.” He spread his arms and basked in the moonlight.

“I hear you call my na, so I’m here, what’s the problem?” He then placed his hand on his hips as he asked.

“…I’m. Yes, I have a problem.”

“I knew it. Well, state it, I’m God, I might have a solution to it.” He then winked at .

Sigh

“Well….I’m…not sure what I’m doing. Like I want to know the purpose of what I’m trying to do. I feel like I have no destination in life.” Sighing again, I dropped down on the ground and sat, ignoring the dirt sticking on .

“It seems like you’re truly having a hard ti, my boy. You have a destination in life, its just that it’s too far for your to see it yet.” God sat beside , despite his extrely white robe, he ignored the dirt sticking to it.

God then patted on the shoulder as he smiled. This ti, it was no longer that toothy grin of his, but an honest kind smile.

“Look at , my boy.” Hearing his words, I adhered and stared at his eyes.

“If you think you are lost, then just think that you are not. Because the more you think you are lost, the further your true purpose strays from you.” He then pressed his finger on my chest.

“Trust what your heart says.”

“…Why does this sound so generic?” I muttered to myself. Which is true, I feel like I heard this lines many tis in movies.

Thankfully, God didn’t take offense to it and laughed along.

“Hahaha! You can’t bla it, it sounds so generic because it is the truth.” God shrugged his shoulders and said.

“So if you think being the protector of humanity is your calling, then do it. No one’s stopping you.” Before I could reply to him he interrupted by looking at his wrist.

“Oh! Would you look at that! I should be ho by now! See you later, boy.” Without saying more, he disappeared in a flash of white light.

‘This old man…’ Sighing in defeat, I felt no energy getting mad at God.

After all, the guy just gave an advice that will probably change my life forever.

At the sa ti as he disappeared, the Elves along with Sylphie ca back, sweat and fear covered their faces.

“W-What was that aura, Chamber? I-It’s too much, we froze without being able to move.” Sylphie shivered as she stuttered, giving a gist of what happened.

‘Goddammit, couldn’t you just lay low?’ I shook at head at the trouble the old man just gave .

“It’s nothing.”

“Nothing? You call that kind of energy nothing? I feel like kneeling and being choked when I sensed it!” Damn, looks like he really did a number on these Elves.

With an apologetic tone, I decided to apologize on his behalf.

“Look, I can’t tell you who he is, but let apologize for him. He probably just doesn't want anyone interrupting us. He’s kind of a bit eccentric.”

“Eccentric?” Sylphie repeated confusedly.

Oh right, that word probably haven’t been invented yet during this ti.

“He’s a bit weird but not beyond weird.” Hopefully, she’ll understand that.

“What are you talking about? Do you an abnormal?”

“….Yeah, sothing like that.” If only she knows who she’s calling abnormal.

“Anyways, I’m sure you have a fair share of experience when it cos to really strong people, so you should know that they’re a bunch of strange people.” Listening to my words, Sylphie couldn’t help but nod her head, along with the rest of the Norse elves.

“Look, earlier you asked if I love humans, right?”

Then I stared at her in the eye as I continued.

“Because I used to be one. And I’m proud of it.” Without waiting for her reaction, I portaled myself out of the Enchanted Forest.

Before the portal could fully close, I heard her yell.

“Wait!”

Zzip!

***

Back at ho, I sat on the couch and stayed still.

Will Sylphie agree? To establishing the first Sanctum on her forest?

Hopefully she would.

In the anti, I should finish so of my pending spells. Specially the Mirror Dinsion one.

Standing up, I was about to go back to my room when suddenly, I stopped and stared at the window.

Outside the window was a flying bat.

A bat? What’s it doing here?

Curious, I decided to open the window and catch it.

I an, I used to be a fan of Pokemon and catching animals like bats would give a sense of playing Pokemon.

So I went forward and was about to open the window when suddenly, as I got closer, the entire image of the outside beca clear and I could finally see the strange sight that would send chill upon the spines of many.

Outside, there wasn’t only one bat, but hundreds of them, flying outside, still yet their eyes staring at the farm house or more specifically, .

Oh shit.

Just as I beca alert, the bats made their move.

One by one, they started landing in the ground and turned into human-shaped figures.

As soon as my eyes went towards one of them, one thought imdiately passed on my mind.

Vampires.

And a lot of them.

“That’s him! That’s the human who killed the young master!” Suddenly, among them, one pointed his pointy index finger nail at and yelled.

Young mast-What?!

Before I could reply the vampire with a question, they all burst in speed, rushing towards the window.

My sorcerer instinct quickly went haywire and conjured a portal just outside the window, bringing the first ones to arrive to space.

Yes, I have access to space.

It’s basically the easiest thing to image when conjuring a portal.

Unfortunately, only a few of them fell for the trick and the rest quickly stopped in their tracks.

However, this didn’t dismay as it bought enough ti for to bring the fight outside.

Jumping out of the window, I weaved my hands and brought upon an entire cyclone that blew them off far from the farm house.

Fwoooshh!

If I could, I should bring them outside the village.

Now that I swore to protect humans from the supernatural side of the world, this should be a good stepping stone for to start off.

Unbeknownst to , the small pocket watch hanging from my neck started glowing in green, the light escaping through the gaps of its cover.

From now on, humanity is my responsibility!
