Chapter 478: yer

“…”

Sitting cross-legged on top of his bed, Kiernan had his eyes shut and was in a deep state of ditation.

A state so deep that none of the sounds of the street disturbed him.

A perfect state of ditation.

Without him knowing, Imperius was sitting across from him, just staring at him, and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

‘A perfect state of ditation—I’ve only heard that so monks or secluded individuals have ever achieved that.

‘Yet, here is a young man, doing it without any trouble. I should’ve expected that Rockstar didn’t choose so nobody to be his student.’

Imperius stood up and walked out of the room—he looked around the house—and then he opened a window and jumped out.

He landed on the pavent of the alleyway, and he then closed the window behind him—he then jumped to the roof, perched on the top, and looked across the city.

“Hah~”

Imperius looked back at Kiernan’s residence, smirked, and then jumped high into the air, disappearing into the clouds and from view.

Buzz! Buzz!

A phone buzzed in Kiernan’s pocket, and even that wouldn’t be enough to distract his ditation, but he willingly stopped it and opened his eyes.

It was because he was waiting for more information about the Junior Martial Arts Championship, as he knew that the welco ceremony was happening tonight.

He pulled out his phone and saw that he was being summoned to God City’s Ryzzler Building that stood at the heart of the city.

“An interview with the general managers of World Fighting League?”

Kiernan raised an eyebrow in surprise, pocketed his phone, and stood up—he quickly changed into new clothes—and then left his room.

“I am going out.”

He said, but he didn’t hear a word in return and felt sothing amiss—the looming presence was gone—it was all empty.

“?!”

Kiernan quickly checked the rest of the rooms and noticed that Imperius was missing—he had left.

“Well, he finally left. Did he do the teleportation ceremony without … or is he still in God City.’

Kiernan frowned and believed it was the latter, as he had a deep hunch that Imperius wanted sothing out of the city.

He shook his head, and with dangling keys in hand, he left the house.

Ding! Ding!

“Welco to Ryzzler Building, may I help you?”

A bright-smiled woman said from behind the front desk and looked like she was genuinely happy to be there.

“I am here for… an interview.”

Kiernan said and looked around the fancy building—it was beautiful—as if itwas straight out of a magazine.

It was also the only skyscraper in God City and had close to a hundred floors—it was located at the highest peak of the world because it was located in God Island.

Therefore, no building went higher than the Ryzzler.

“What is your na?”

The girl asked and knew that he was part of the interview as she saw the badge on his chest, but she still had to know the na.

“Kiernan Hunter.”

The girl checked the na on her computer, saw Kiernan’s files appear on the screen, and nodded with a smile.

“Take the elevator and go to the 87th floor.”

“Thank you.”

Kiernan walked to the elevator, pressed the button, and waited for a mont.

Ding!

The elevator’s doors opened, and Kiernan stepped inside—he then pressed the 87th floor button and watched as the doors slowly closed.

“Hold the elevator!”

A hurried sound ca from the front lounge, and Kiernan saw a young woman running towards the closing doors.

She had long brown hair and was wearing a blue suit with a white blouse—the heels caused her to move with a noticeable sense of urgency.

“…”

Kiernan moved his foot and put it in the middle of the closing doors—the doors abruptly stopped.

“Ah!”

The young woman pushed the doors open and entered, panting heavily trying to catch her breath.

“T-thank you!”

“No problem…”

Kiernan looked at her chest—not at her breasts, even though they were quite prominent—but at the badge on her chest.

It had the number five embroidered on it.

‘Tier five.’

Kiernan thought, and then looked away—the elevator doors finally closed.

The young woman finally caught her breath—she then turned to the young man next to her—and smiled gratefully.

“Thank you, once again. I see that you’re also a representative, and I saw that you pressed the 87th floor button, so we’re heading to the sa floor.

“My na’s Joanna yer. What’s yours?”

“…Kiernan Hunter.”

Kiernan glanced at her and briefly nodded—he then crossed his arms—the engagent ring glinting on his finger.

“Ah~ I am so nervous. It’s not every day you get to et the legendary general managers of the World Fighting League.

“I am representative of Forze Country—you might not have heard about it—it is a small tier five country, and while we aren’t big, we dream big!”

She said with a smile.

“Mm.”

Kiernan nodded.

“Where are you from? I see the tier four badge on your chest. I guess we’re in the sa boat, the underdogs, hehe!”

She giggled.

“New Rakuya.”

Kiernan said shortly.

“New Rakuya… I do rember that place. I am a little bit of a historian, and I’ve heard about the civil war that happened in the lands of Rakuya about a thousand years ago.

“After that disastrous civil war, Rakuya beca New Rakuya and entered the new era of prosperity and peace!”

She said with a bright smile.

‘Even I didn’t know about that.’

Kiernan thought to himself.

Ding! Ding!

At that mont, the elevator reached the 87th floor, and its doors slid open slowly—their eyes opened into a view of the floor.

The door at the end of the floor was closed—there were about thirty seats, most of them filled—and there was a group of people playing cards at the corner.

By the looks of it, there were about twenty people waiting for the interview currently—they all looked tough and battle-hardened.

The badges on their chests all had either the number three, four, or five—there weren’t seconds or ones anywhere.

‘It looks like the first group of interviewers are us from lower-tier countries. If everyone took the interview at the sa ti, there would be over three hundred people huddled inside this floor.’
