"Surprise?" Aiden said awkwardly. He tried to wave before he realized that it would cause the box to topple even further. He was t with two pairs of deadpan eyes. "Hi there, fancy eting you here!"

"This is my house," Dimitri said flatly. "I live here. What are you doing here?"

"I’m moving in next door," Aiden said cheerfully, putting his box on the floor.

As if to prove his point, Alia spotted a variety of collectible figurines, along with so books inside the open box. She peered further into the corridor and there were more boxes piled alongside the walkway from the lift lobby. Aiden was clearly still moving in!

Dimitri’s eyebrow twitched. This was a fire hazard waiting to happen! Even if he didn’t know Aiden from before, this would have given him a very negative first impression of his new neighbor.

"You’re not serious. What happened to your old house?" Alia asked, stunned.

"It’s unlivable," Aiden complained. "Now that Emline has the crown prince in her womb, my parents are all circling around her like she’s the fucking sun of this universe. I, their actual son, am as good as a piece of turd on the floor."

Ronan snorted loud enough indoors that Aiden could hear it from outside.

"Hey! Do you have sothing to say?"

"So they do know you’re a piece of shit," Ronan said. "And I find it very hard to believe that you don’t have your own house elsewhere."

"I do, but I moved here for a change of scenery," Aiden said flippantly. "The neighbors here are a lot friendlier than the neighbors back ho."

"I see you’re taking my advice to pursue your new bride," Alia added cheerfully. "Ronan, what do you think of his efforts?"

"Don’t even joke about this!" Ronan exclaid, appalled. anwhile, Dimitri looked like he wanted to commit homicide, but he held back because it would be difficult to scrub blood from the floor.

anwhile, Aiden stretched out a hand for Dimitri to shake.

"It’s nice to et you, neighbor!"

"Neighbour?!" Dimitri barked out in displeasure.

Since he owned this entire apartnt complex, he was less than pleased to find out there was soone new living nearby in what he thought was his territory. All his neighbors were either peace-loving, intelligent people, or they kept out of his way, or they were Isaac.

Aiden didn’t seem to fall into any of these categories. Dimitri never approved of his application. In fact, Aiden didn’t even send an application to begin with! He was a trespasser!

"Why did the security staff not inform ?" Dimitri seethed.

"Well, I did inform soone," Aiden said with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "That handso doctor that saved Horace Hawthorne said it was fine if I wanted to move in and beco flatmates with him!"

Alia and Ronan exchanged stunned glances, while Dimitri imdiately turned around and yelled.

"Isaac! What’s the aning of this!"

"What are you yelling for?" Isaac asked, popping his head out to see what the fuss was. "Oh, it’s Aiden. Nice to et you. Are you moving in already?"

"You’re living with him?!" Dimitri demanded hotly, and Alia marveled at the loss of his composure. She had never seen Dimitri so shocked in his life. Ronan thought his brother sounded more like a mouse that had just been stepped on.

"Why not?" Isaac shrugged. "I have two rooms to spare, but not enough cash. I need a roommate to save on bills, and with him here, Alia can carpool with him for work. I see no reason to refuse, not when he’s kind enough to apologize for his mother’s actions. But Aiden, you’re really bringing too many things with you."

"Oh," Aiden said, his face falling slightly. "That’s fine, we’ll see what we can keep and I’ll ship the rest of them to a warehouse for storage."

"We?" Dimitri repeated, his eyes darting from Isaac to Aiden in rapid unison. "Where did this ’we’ co from?"

"We are going to be flatmates!" Aiden smiled cheerily and slung a friendly arm across Isaac’s shoulders to drag him out. "I foresee we’re going to be living together happily."

Dimitri looked like he was about to explode. Ronan quickly cleared his throat and pulled his brother back before his jealousy could take over and ruin whatever relationship he had with Isaac. Then again, judging by how Isaac was letting another man move in with him, maybe there was no relationship to begin with!

So, was his brother just pining one-sidedly all this while?

Goddamn it. Suddenly he felt very bad for his brother. He exchanged a worried glance with Alia and saw that she understood things perfectly.

However, no one could have predicted the next words to erge from Dimitri’s lips.

"You can’t move in with him," Dimitri spat out. "There’s no more room because Alia is also moving in with Isaac."

Isaac blinked. "Wait, what?"

"I am?" Alia asked, puzzled.

"You are?" Ronan asked.

His brother shot him an ugly glare from the corner of his eyes, and he quickly cleared his throat to offer so much-needed brotherly support. Honestly, what would his brother do without him?

"I an, of course you are. Alia, we did say that it was getting crowded here. And it’s better for you to stay with Isaac for the ti being, especially if you’re not feeling well."

"You’re still not feeling better?" Aiden frowned at Alia.

"Indigestion," Alia said quickly. "Recently, life has been... less than ideal."

"Yeah I can see that." Aiden nodded to himself. "You look like shit. I didn’t want to say it, but―"

"Shut your mouth if you want to live," Alia said threateningly, and Aiden mid zipping his mouth shut.

"Well, I can’t go back on my words," Isaac said, looking extrely conflicted. "I already promised Aiden he could move in. But Alia does need a better place to stay where she can sleep better..."

"That’s not a problem at all!" If anything, Aiden seed even more delighted at this turn of events. "All three of us will live together then!"

"Right, so that’s settled then," Ronan said. "Co on brother, let’s help Alia pack her things. Isaac, maybe you want to go and check on your apartnt?"

"Good idea," Isaac said.

Dimitri’s face still looked thunderous, so he quickly took the chance to slink away.

Finally, the door closed and Ronan heaved a sigh of relief.

"So... I’m moving in with Isaac and Aiden?" Alia raised an eyebrow at how quickly her housing problem was resolved. It seed almost too good to be true.

"Yes," Dimitri breathed out, his nostrils flaring out. "I refuse to let this nace live with Isaac, inflicting him with his bad behavior, unchaperoned―"

Ronan snorted loudly. "My hopeless older brother, you can just say that you’re jealous and you want to ruin whatever chances of a relationship between those two."

Dimitri crossed his arms but did not deny it. Alia could only laugh helplessly to herself. She hadn’t found such amusent in a while.

"I understand," Alia said, nodding. "I will move in with them and beco the brightest light bulb in Sol City."

"I am counting on you," Dimitri said with all seriousness.
