"Are you trying to fight at every corner?" Flynn’s voice carried sharp irritation as Timothy kept pushing back against his every word.

Flynn knew he wasn’t skilled at reading emotions the way Timothy could, but he held firm to his principles. There were laws that had to be followed.

"I’m not fighting you, Flynn. I’m telling you the truth, but you’re acting like I’m attacking you. Don’t be ridiculous." Timothy’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "Sotis you need to use your empathy to understand the situation better."

"Did you use yours? Look where we are now."

Timothy didn’t want this confrontation, but he felt a surge of pettiness. "I could ask you the sa thing."

Before their argunt could spiral further, Marcela appeared with urgent news.

"Sorry, am I interrupting sothing important?"

She asked hesitantly, sensing the thick tension between them.

"No interruption." Timothy shook his head, taking a deep breath to steady himself. Flynn stepped back, easing the hostility. "What’s wrong?"

"The king... he’s in the infirmary."

Perry’s POV

Relief washed through —we wouldn’t have to venture into the forest and risk our lives. But I knew the real problem was far from over.

"Perry," Timothy called as Flynn entered the room and walked straight toward .

"You had us all worried," Flynn said, stopping at the foot of the bed.

I was holding Phoebe’s hand, staring at her with my mind completely blank. No one could read my thoughts.

"You need to leave. There’s a council—"

Flynn’s words cut off as I shot up and wrapped my fingers around his throat, fury blazing in my eyes. I slamd my loyal beta against the wall.

"I’m not going anywhere," I growled low.

Timothy rushed forward to stop from crushing Flynn’s windpipe while Marcela trembled nearby. Fear radiated from her—the sight of alone made her heart race.

This wasn’t her first ti witnessing my brutality.

After what happened in the dungeon, Marcela seed traumatized for life.

"Please, not here..." Marcela whimpered, worried about Phoebe’s condition. She wasn’t sure she’d be lucky enough to save Phoebe’s life again if we fought here and put her at risk.

"Perry, don’t." Timothy grabbed my hand. "Let’s talk outside."

I narrowed my eyes but released Flynn’s throat, walking toward the door. As I passed Marcela, I spoke in my deep voice.

"Make sure she’s fine."

"Yes, yes, my king." Marcela bowed her head, trembling. She only breathed normally after we’d all left. Having three of the kingdom’s most powerful figures in one room with such tension was suffocating.

Outside the room, Flynn glared at . "Enough, Perry. You need to face the elders and give them orders, or this situation will spiral out of control!"

"Flynn, it’s not the right ti." Timothy’s irritation showed as he defended my position against Flynn’s demands.

"When is the right ti?!" Flynn snapped at Timothy.

His anger flared because neither of them could see how critical things were. "You want to understand his condition? You won’t need to worry about anything if we’re attacked unprepared. No need to worry when you’re dead!"

In Flynn’s mind, sentint had no place here. We needed decisions and concrete plans before enemies ca knocking.

"You’ve seen her. What more do you want? She’ll be safe. Marcela will stay with her constantly. You being with her won’t help her condition," Flynn stated bluntly, delivering harsh truth. "There’s nothing you can do for her, but plenty you need to do to save this kingdom."

Timothy knew Flynn was right about priorities, but his delivery felt cold and unsympathetic.

To their surprise, I walked toward the throne room. "Gather all the elders. I have an announcent."

Flynn and Timothy exchanged glances. They had no idea what announcent I planned, but they hurried after .

There was a reason they followed with extre loyalty despite everything—I was a capable ruler on my good days.

Timothy then sent word to Turner that I had returned, in case the warrior hadn’t heard yet.

"So you’re the woman Kevin kept in his bedroom?" Reginald approached Kyra as she curled up on the bed.

She’d heard about Kevin’s fate and felt overwhelming relief flood through her. She’d always wished soone would kill him. He deserved it.

"I’ll leave now. I’ll go..." Kyra said quickly, standing from the sofa and heading for the door, but Reginald caught her hand.

"Where are you going? I haven’t given you permission to leave." He grabbed her waist, then noticed sothing. "You’re pregnant."
