’Lightning Dash!’ Harry thought.
Blitz!!
Blue sparks of lightning imdiately appeared around his legs, cracking violently as they rapidly spread all over his upper body.
His eyes briefly shone with a strange blue light, and the speed of the thin sword trailing towards his neck greatly slowed down, to the point where Harry could now follow it.
Harnessing the energy within his legs, Harry executed a swift backward leap, adeptly avoiding the sword slashing through the air in front of him, leaving behind a faint yellow trail.
He couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine, as he watched the sword "slowly" slice through the air.
anwhile, Nathan’s eyes widened in shock as he watched Harry easily dodge his attack once more.
Even though he boosted his speed again, it seed like it still wasn’t enough as Harry was still faster than him, especially with the activation of [Lightning Dash].
After distancing himself from the combat mage, Harry hurriedly channeled energy through his hand before stretching it towards Nathan.
’Wind Blade!’ He thought, rapidly infusing the skill with energy.
[-180 Energy points]
A notification flashed in the corner of Harry’s eyes, but he simply ignored it, focusing more on activating the skill.
Whoosh!
Imdiately, a thin, long blade even more powerful than the last appeared in front of him, before shooting towards Nathan at rapid speed.
Nathan gritted his teeth in frustration, as he swung his sword towards the incoming attack, in a bid to deflect it.
Since the attack ca at him so suddenly, he had no chance at blocking or cutting it.
Thang!!
With a loud sound, Nathan’s sword clashed with the wind blade in the air, the impact sending slight tremors through his hand.
’So strong!’ Nathan mumbled inwardly. To his surprise, the wind blade was actually pushing back against him, and he could tell that he was rapidly losing the power struggle, as his feet slid backwards by a few centitres.
He hurriedly harnessed so of his mana into his hand, before twisting his sword slightly to the side, hoping to deflect the blade.
However, rather than the attack changing direction as he expected, a portion of the blade suddenly phased through his sword, before hitting him squarely on his torso.
"Arrgh!" Nathan grunted in pain, as the force behind the attack sent him flying by a few ters.
His body was about to crash into the ground, but he quickly channeled mana throughout his body, before planting his sword deep into the ground, using it to regain his balance.
’What the hell was that?!’ He thought with a deep frown on his face. One of his hand instinctively went to his chest where the blade hit, and he couldn’t help but wince in pain as he felt a sharp sting course through him from the cut.
Though it was only a part of the attack that landed on him, it still managed to cut through his skin.
But he still didn’t understand... he deflected that attack with his sword, so how was it that the blade still sohow hit him?
’Maybe I didn’t deflect it properly... but to think his attack would be that powerful.’ Nathan thought, with a wry smile on his face.
anwhile, Harry stood proudly at the other end, not even bothering to hide the smug smirk on his face.
’It worked!’ He thought, and his lips curled into a slight smile.
The wind blade wasn’t just boosted with his energy, it was also covered in it!
It was sothing he had been training on since his encounter with that mana beast attack—a way to coat his attacks with raw energy.
From what he knew, his energy couldn’t be sensed with mana, and it couldn’t be stopped with mana also.
The only way Elentalists in the academy felt that his attacks contained elental mana was due to the effect of [Mana core illusion], which made it look like he was channeling mana whenever he activated his skills.
However, when it ca to a battle between his energy and either raw or elental mana, his energy was sure to co out on top!
This thought sparked a brilliant idea in him, and he couldn’t help but wonder: if he coated his attacks directly with his energy, rather than just harnessing it through them, didn’t that an his attacks would practically be unstoppable?!
Whether Elentalist or combat mage, none of them would be able to counter his energy with mana!
Nonetheless, thinking of the idea was the easy part, the most difficult part was to actually coat his attacks with energy!
Even after training on it for over six hours, he still couldn’t execute it properly. Unlike just infusing his skills with energy, coating them directly with it was entirely different.
Mainly because he had to harness his energy through his skill and also channel so of his energy outside of his body at the sa ti.
However, after training arduously on it, he was able to sowhat get the hang of it, but he still wasn’t perfect in it.
The energy coating the wind blade was very thin, and not just that, it was also unstable, which was why Nathan was still able to deflect a part of it.
Besides, it took a large chunk of his energy, most of which simply ended up as a waste, without contributing anything to the attack.
’I’ll make sure to get better, and improve my energy control!’ Harry thought, his eyes beaming with determination.
Just then, a couple of system notifications flashed across his eyes, and his smile widened in joy.

"I think we should end the spar now." Harry said, turning his gaze back to Nathan who was still in disbelief about the last attack.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t an to injure you." Harry said, his eyes flashing with a weird glint.
Now that he thought about it, shouldn’t he be more concerned about Nathan, who he literally just cut because of his experint?
"You don’t have to worry, it’s a duel. I only got cut because I couldn’t fend off that attack, and don’t worry about the wound, it’ll heal soon." Nathan said, slowly standing back up on his feet.
"Hmm... okay." Harry replied, nonchalantly nodding his head.
"But aren’t you a stage one Elentalist, how are your spells so powerful? I’ve never seen anything like it... not even from Susan." Nathan asked, his brows furrowing slightly.
’Spells...? Ohh, right.’ Harry thought, almost smacking his forehead for not understanding Nathan’s words at first.
Compared to other Elentalists, his skills didn’t need any ti to activate, and only needed his energy. So as long as he had enough energy, he could always use his skills.
"I don’t know, they’ve just... always been like that." Harry replied nonchalantly, not knowing what else to say.
"Hmm..." Nathan humd, his brows furrowing slightly.
Even though he lost, he didn’t feel too bad about it. However, what puzzled him the most was that during that spar, he could tell Harry wasn’t even giving his all.
It was as if he was simply trying to limit himself to using only attacks that wouldn’t end the fight too quickly, sothing that Nathan didn’t feel too happy about.
Nonetheless, he inwardly registered this in his mind, and made it his new goal: to get stronger, and have the power to defeat Harry at his full strength.
’Very ironic... and at the sa ti, odd.’ Nathan thought, with a dry chuckle.
