"So you actually allowed him to stay?" Damien raised an eyebrow as he lifted his glass of wine, swirling the red liquid before taking a slow sip. The night breeze drifted into the open rooftop lounge, cool and refreshing, blending with the low hum of bass-heavy music drifting from the club’s speakers. Neon lights washed over their table in shifting shades of blue and violet.
"Should I have abducted him then?" Alex shot back, arching a brow while downing the last of his alcohol. He imdiately poured himself another glass, the liquor splashing a little too aggressively. "And besides... I don’t want to stay in that hospital for too long. That place brings back mories I really don’t want to revisit."
"You’re right. I understand you," Damien muttered, exhaling a long sigh that fogged faintly in the cool air. He leaned back in his seat, crossing one leg over the other. "And yeah, Ogas are dumb most tis, but him... I thought he was different, you see? I was trying to be nice because your body reacted only to his pheromones. And also, among all the Ogas I’ve t, he’s the only one whose pheromones don’t cling to him like a second skin. I don’t know how he does that, but I’m grateful for it. You know how much I hate Oga scent."
"You hate them so much you don’t even allow Ogas into your hospital," Alex said with a small laugh. "But you still cared for him. All because of ."
"Exactly. I wanted to create a drug for you afterall." Damien ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "But I don’t think that’ll be possible anymore. Your case is... complicated."
Alex chuckled and took another drink. "You’ve hated Ogas since the day your ex dumped you. He broke up with you when it could’ve been the other way around. Ten years together and he still cheated on you with a richer Alpha. And that was the end."
"You really don’t have to ntion that," Damien grumbled, rolling his eyes as he emptied his glass. "It’s been five years since we’ve broke up. I’ve healed."
"You haven’t," Alex countered instantly, pointing at him with his glass. "If you had, you’d have gotten another Oga by now and moved on. But you can’t. You hate Oga pheromones so much it’s practically a ntal allergy. You’re undateable at this rate. You might actually die single and celibate."
Alex burst into loud laughter at his own joke, causing Damien to click his tongue and look away.
"Stop talking about and focus on yourself," Damien snapped lightly, though there was more concern than irritation in his tone. "Your next rut is coming soon. How do we suppress it? Your scent glands haven’t healed yet, so you can forget about suppressants as they won’t work. When your rut hits, and with no Oga pheromones to stabilize you..." Damien paused, frowning. "Alex, you’re not even an Alpha who can endure the pain. You’re an enigma. Your ruts are wild. Dangerous. You could actually lose control."
Alex’s lips curved slowly into a confident smirk. "Who said I’m letting that Oga go?"
Damien blinked, his wine nearly slipping from his fingers. "Huh? What are you talking about? You literally let him go today....allowed him to stay with that monster of a husband. Do you honestly think that man will let him leave again now that he’s back? He’ll forbid him from seeing you. And after you punched him? He’ll surely co for your head."
"Well..." Alex refilled his glass one more ti, this ti more calmly. His eyes glinted with sothing sharp, sothing determined. "It’s only a matter of ti before Gabe co back . And this ti, I’ll make sure he stays with . I’ll snatch him back when the mont is right."
Damien’s eyes widened in pure disbelief. "Alex....what the hell are you saying now?"
Alex shrugged. "I know Sabe. He will raise his hands on Gabe again. It’s inevitable. When that happens... I’ll be the one to save him. And once he’s safe with , that’s when we’ll start the therapy sessions in full. I’ll help him recover. I’ll fix him. And he’ll be mine."
"I already planted a cara on Sabe," Alex announced casually, making Damien’s eyes snap wide open in shock. "And not only on him, but also all over the house. It’s only a matter of ti before I gather enough evidence to prove that he’s been assaulting his partner.....Gabe. Once that’s done, the court will have no problem granting them a divorce. After that..." He smirked as he lifted his glass. "Gabe can move under my roof, learn sex positions from to use on any new Alpha he’s planning on being with... which, of course, would be ."
"Ouuuu," Damien gasped dramatically, excitent lighting up his face. "So how exactly are you planning to obtain this evidence? I’m trying to connect the dots here. Are you going to abduct Sabe to teach him a lesson or sothing?"
"Sabe will be purnished definitely but I’m not abducting him just to get the caras back ," Alex replied, shrugging as he swirled the wine in his glass. "I have a computer at ho which reveals everything. The evidence is practically walking into my hands. Once I have enough, Sabe won’t be able to escape punishnt. And Gabe..." He smiled, softer this ti. "Gabe will finally be free."
"Oh my goodness, you’re actually a genius." Damien clapped his hands together in pure delight. "So you’re really going to be laying with the oga after? This is like saving a beauty....no, a handso in distress from his abusive husband!"
"You can say that again," Alex chuckled. A glint flashed through his eyes. "Though, I won’t underestimate Gabe. He’s incredibly smart. He might’ve even planned this himself....maybe he stayed behind on purpose to gather evidence against Sabe. But either way, it doesn’t change anything. I’m still going to save him. Even if he orchestrated things so I’d be the one doing the saving." He leaned back and smirked. "One thing I do know for sure is that I’m going to make him mine."
"Make him yours?" Damien lifted a brow. "Don’t tell you’re planning on marrying him."
"Nope." Alex shook his head imdiately. "I just want to keep him with until my scent glands repair themselves. Once that happens, I’ll be able to react normally to other ogas again. And of course, I’ll keep him with until you finish producing those pheromone-regulating drugs to help with my damaged glands." His tone turned serious, firm.
Damien nodded eagerly, excitent practically vibrating off him. "I can’t believe you’re actually doing this. It feels like watching a drama live."

ANWHILE.....BACK AT SABE’S APARTNT
The very mont Alex left the hospital, leaving Sabe unconscious beside Gabe, the doctor ca in to finalize the discharge papers. Under Gabe’s request and against the nurses’ confused protests....Sabe was discharged early. Fred arrived just in ti to help lift Sabe onto the stretcher and later into a wheelchair for Gabe.
By the ti they arrived at Sabe’s apartnt, the air felt suffocating and cold. Fred helped lay Sabe on the bed, his bandaged head sinking into the pillows as he remained unconscious, thanks to the additional sedative he’d been given.
Fred exhaled tiredly as he capped the syringe he had just used on himself. "Are you really sure about coming back here?" he asked, glancing at Gabe. "Once he wakes up and hears about what you did to his pregnant partner, things are going to get ssy. If not physically... then emotionally. Sabe doesn’t let go easily."
Gabe drained the rest of his alcohol in one gulp, jaw tightening. "How long are you going to keep injecting yourself, Fred?" he asked, eyeing the suppressant vial. "If you keep this up, your body’s going to stop reacting. You’re an oga, for crying out loud. Stop pretending you’re a beta."
"I’m afraid your lovely husband would have fucked long ago if he knew I was an oga," Fred replied with a bitter laugh. "My scent is insane. If I walk into this apartnt once without suppressant, he’ll pin to the wall and ruin both of us. And you...." Fred pointed at Gabe with the syringe cap, "you’re an alpha. If you caught even a whiff of my real scent, you might have fucked too, and that would absolutely destroy our friendship."
He sighed deeply. "And to make things worse, most companies don’t want ogas for auto jobs. They always claim our bodies are too weak, our pheromones too distracting. They prefer betas and strong alphas. If I don’t disguise myself, I’ll never get hired anywhere. This isn’t about pride, Gabe.....it’s survival. I was faking before I even t you."
"That’s why I keep telling you to co work at my father’s pharmaceutical company," Gabe muttered, rubbing his temples. "Even though I’m not running it right now, a friend of mine....she’s practically my sister manages everything on my behalf until I’m ready for public appearances." He let out a frustrated sigh. "But then who would’ve thought Sabe would be rushed to my hospital out of the countless hospitals in this city? Sotis I swear the universe is mocking ."
