Chapter 960: Realm in Danger?
Chapter 960
The demon’s reflexes kicked in almost imdiately.
His head snapped to the side just in ti as Grey’s fist drove into the ice wall, instantly crumbling it as if the structure were made of brittle parchnt.
Julius’ brows furrowed in confusion at the sheer ease with which his reinforced barrier had disintegrated under the impact of Grey’s strike.
The demon staggered to the right, but the mont it regained its footing, its hands darted toward Grey’s face in a desperate counter.
The Supre Magus, however, had already moved.
He was so fast that all the demon seized was empty air.
’How is he so swift?’
Danger!
The demon quickly leaped into the air just in ti as Grey could be seen sliding in from below the creature’s feet.
"Oh. Fast," Grey comnted with a knowing smirk, lightning arcing around his fingers where it had been coiled a mont ago.
Mid-air, more limbs sprouted from the demon’s back.
They rose like dark tentacles, flailing against the sky while twisting and turning with grotesque fluidity.
The others watched the display calmly, their trust in the Magus absolute.
Grey spun to his full height as Clara shimred into his grip.
He shifted his weight, sword in hand, while eyeing the ten limbs twisting around the demon, ready to be launched.
And launch they did.
The soil cracked beneath Grey’s boots as Ki flooded his legs and the blade of his sword.
Bang—!
He exploded forward just as the limbs were shot his way with blazing speed.
He charged head-first to et the incoming hands.
With a deft twirl of his wrist, he swatted one of the mbers away.
Without losing an ounce of montum, he pirouetted his body, lashing forward to sever one of the reaching hands.
Leaping backward, he swung his blade in a wide arc, causing a Ki slash to burst out with full velocity, shredding through two more of the appendages.
The demon’s face was imdiately contorted in trendous agony as black blood oozed into the air like a fountain.
Yet, Grey wasn’t done.
With a sharp nod of his head, a lightning pillar scread down like a missile from the overhead clouds.
The demon kicked backward with fluid grace, dodging the electrical pillar by the sheer skin of his teeth.
BANG—! BOOOOM—!
The bolt transford the ground into a ten-ter-deep crater, scattering chunks of rock into the atmosphere and shielding everyone’s view for a fleeting mont.
Reorienting itself, the demon spun around.
Its attention drifted away from Grey as it darted for the Emperor instead, seeking a weaker target.
Within a heartbeat, it was before the man.
Its mouth swelled, and soon, a ball of spikes fired toward the mage at point-blank range.
A wall of shadow rose up instantly, blocking the projectile from hitting the Emperor.
The demon was confused; Julius hadn’t moved an inch, so where had the shadow materialized from?
Looking up, the creature saw a teen with a demonic mask on his face glaring in its direction.
BANG—!
Kael surged forward, closing the distance between himself and the demon in the blink of an eye.
His lightning sword lashed forward with crackling, destructive force.
The demon was quick, bounding backward as its remaining limbs surged to its front in an attempt to deflect the electrified edge.
But the mont the sword bit into the demon’s limb, searing pain flooded its entire being.
Before it could pull back, Grey had already materialized before it, delivering a powerful, crushing punch to the demon’s jaw.
The creature’s head was thrown to the side almost imdiately, black ichor spritzing into the air.
Then, inertia gripped the demon hard as it was seized backward with deadly force.
The ground cracked with every violent bounce of the demon’s fra.
The Supre Magus wasn’t letting up; Ki flooded his legs as he exploded forward with lightning velocity, closing the distance in a blur.
Even while hurtling backward, the demon’s remaining limbs didn’t relent.
They shot at the charging warrior mage like striking vipers, desperate to pierce his flesh.
However, the Supre Magus weaved through the assault, dodging each appendage by a wide margin.
He looked to be having a field day as he exerted imnse pressure on the terrain.
His toes shattered the soil as he rocketed forward with redoubled montum.
Within a heartbeat, he was upon the creature.
Without hesitation, his hand reached out, snatching the demon by the face before he hamred the abomination into the ground with all his might.
BOOOM—!
The earth splintered under the force of the slam, a massive crater forming instantly as dust billowed into the air in choking waves.
Grey smirked down at the demon, who was now gasping for air, its dark chest heaving.
"Huh? Thought you were Echelon Eight, huh? Why so weak?" the mage taunted.
Before the creature could recover, he snatched it from the dirt and flung it away with a powerful heave.
The demon cut through the air like a launched arrow.
Suddenly, translucent strings weaved into existence, coiling together into one massive, thick fist.
The construct smashed into the demon’s abdon faster than it could process.
If the creature had pupils, they would have been dilated in crushing agony.
All it could do was spray black blood as its body bounced roughly across the battlefield like a discarded ball.
The sheer force of its montum decimated a dozen corpses that had been sprawled in its path.
The mont its body ca to a skidding halt, it looked up to see two enormous lightning pillars forming overhead.
Before the realization could even register, the pillars scread downward with such velocity that they bashed into the demon with a deafening, tallic crash.
A massive shockwave blasted outward in all directions.
The remains of fallen soldiers strewn across the battlefield were instantly scattered, while those unfortunately caught in the direct radius of the clash were blown to smithereens.
The demon was subrged in a sea of pain.
Electricity tore through its nervous system, boiling its blood from the inside out.
Like a phantom appearing from the mist, Grey materialized before the twitching monster.
It tried to rise and continue the struggle, but all it could muster was a pathetic whimper.
"Demon, my foot. Even the Lower Echelon Ten was a much more formidable opponent than you are. What a disgrace," Grey stated coldly.
’Dem—Dem.... Ack... Demon blood a—’
Without wasting another second, Grey’s foot shot forward—fast, rciless, and precise.
Ki gathered around the sole of his boot as he drove the strike into the demon’s head.
CRUNCH—!
The demon’s skull shattered under the impact, bone fragnts splintering as dark ichor flowed like a river.
Only one final, flickering thought remained in its mind as its consciousness began to fade like a dying light switch.
’A—A—A demon. Lu—Lucifero... the realm is in dan—danger...’
