Chapter 959: Chapter 959

Chapter 959

The ice spears were launched forward like missiles of destruction, cutting through the air with lightning speed.

However, even with the staggering amount of projectiles rocketing toward it, the demon remained totally unfazed.

Its long limbs moved with the precision of swords, clashing with each frozen spike with resounding tallic clangs.

It was successfully deflecting every single shaft without suffering so much as a superficial scratch.

With every deflection, the creature drifted backward, maintaining a steady and calm gaze while batting away the projectiles.

All the while, it kept its focus fixed on Julius.

The Emperor remained in his position without flinching, ignoring the blood that continued to dribble from his mouth as he maintained his composure.

The demon frowned—or at least, its misplaced features shifted into a semblance of one.

There were still about four hundred spears left to contend with, yet the monster casually sidestepped the volley.

Then, with a single explosive step, it vanished from sight, reappearing directly before the Emperor in a heartbeat.

Its hand coiled like a high-tension spring and, without hesitation, swung toward Julius’ abdon with crushing velocity.

Before the strike could connect, a thick wall of ice rose between them to intercept the blow.

BAM—! BOOOM—!

The frozen barrier shuddered violently, cracks spiderwebbing across its translucent surface instantly.

But Julius was already gone, having slipped into the safety of the shadows.

The demon’s head snapped around, sensing a cluster of fireballs speeding toward its back with deadly montum.

Kicking off the ground, the creature vaulted into the air, allowing the searing orbs to smash into the ice wall instead, shattering it into jagged cubes.

From its vantage point in the sky, the demon’s arms suddenly increased in length.

It thrust them forward, launching the elongated limbs toward the Emperor like a predatory snare.

Julius stared at the approaching hands that were attempting to snatch him like an eagle diving for a chick.

Before the fingers could seize him, he sank into the shadows once more, causing the limbs to crash into the earth and uproot the soil as if it were a re rug.

The Emperor rose from the ground again, standing defiantly between the outstretched arms.

Translucent strings weaved into existence and darted toward the demon like venomous vipers.

Sensing the incoming assault, the creature hissed and quickly retracted its mbers.

Within the blink of an eye, its hands were back in their rightful position.

Dark scales suddenly glead across its forearms, which it crossed in front of its face just in ti.

The strings bashed into its guard with the force of a charging bull, flinging the demon out of the air.

Before it could crash, the monster spun mid-flight, planting its palms on the earth to steady its footing almost imdiately.

Blood dribbled from the Emperor’s nose now, but he quickly wiped it away, preparing to continue his offensive.

However, the demon flipped like a gymnast and landed smoothly on its feet, a mocking air about it.

"You are a dead man, huh," it chuckled silently.

"Hm?" Julius lifted a brow, his breathing slightly labored.

The demon smirked, its jagged teeth glinting.

"You are dying. Am I right?"

Julius’ eyes slanted, his aura remaining cold.

"And how does that concern you? Aren’t we here to fight?"

The demon crossed its arms over its chest in a relaxed stance.

"I don’t know about you, but I’m here to hunt him." It pointed toward where Grey had been standing, but the next second, its hollow eye sockets widened in genuine horror.

The Supre Magus was no longer there.

"The Emperor was right," a sliver of a voice whispered directly behind the demon, causing it to twirl around like a broken arrow.

Before it could fully reposition itself, a violent gale slamd into its face, lifting the creature off its feet and hurling it backward like a discarded ragdoll.

Before it could crash into the terrain, the demon elongated its hands, digging them deep into the soil and halting its montum imdiately.

Then, the warrior materialized in the demon’s forr position with a callous look etched onto his face.

".... You talk too much."

The demon landed on the ground smoothly, showing not even a flutter in his movents despite the previous impact.

He glared daggers in Grey’s direction, his malice practically tangible.

"Cough... cough... cough..." Julius was seen coughing violently, doubled over in imnse pain.

He couldn’t physically see it, but he could feel the internal devastation: cracks were beginning to widen across his mana core like shattered glass.

If he had perhaps a month left to live before this encounter, he had certainly shortened that lifespan now.

Regardless of the agony, his spirit remained unbroken; he was still willing to fight.

Before he could even think of casting a new spell, Grey spoke, his voice cutting through the chaos:

"I think you need to stop now. I don’t want you to lose your life here. I still have a lot of questions to ask you about your fight with the Otherworlders."

The demon lifted a brow, but he remained utterly uninterested in whatever conversations the humans were having.

All it craved was Grey’s head.

Unhesitatingly, it bolted forward with blazing speed, a dark blur against the scorched earth.

Turning to look at the Emperor while seemingly forgetting about the demon charging straight at him, Grey added:

"You wanted to see my affinities, right? Well, I will show you—and more."

The mont the last word slid out, the demon was already before him.

Its mouth swelled up, and soon, an enormous ball fired out at point-blank range.

However, Grey rely turned his head to look at the creature with a disdainful, cold stare.

"Know your place, trash."

The ground jittered loudly, and bursting forth was a wall of reinforced earth that fitted itself directly in front of the projectile.

WAM—!

The ball crashed into the barrier and instantly crumbled it, continuing on its trajectory without slowing down one bit.

But its target was already nowhere to be found.

Instead, the sphere shattered into the ground, forming a five-ter-wide crater that made it seem like a teor had struck that exact spot.

A chilling aura suddenly manifested from behind.

The demon whirled around swiftly, but unfortunately for him, Grey was already long in motion.

Fireballs were launched at point-blank range, illuminating the dim battlefield.

The demon’s sockets widened in horror.

Its body tried to twist away, but his hands were faster.

Scales ford and hardened like a tallic alloy over his skin.

Crossing his limbs before his face, the fireballs crashed into his guard with the force of a speeding train.

Though the flas weren’t as inherently potent as the Emperor’s, they still packed a kinetic punch that sent the demon sliding backward across the dirt.

But then, his back hit sothing solid—almost like a reinforced wall.

Turning around, the demon was t with a solid ice wall that abruptly broke its montum.

"Though I won’t participate fiercely, I will still support when necessary. So, take it down,"

Julius smirked from where he stood, his eyes gleaming despite his weakened state.

’Take who dow—’

The demon’s head quickly snapped forward, only to see Grey’s fist glowing with a fierce, concentrated yellow energy.

Ki had already wrapped around his knuckles, and they wasted no ti shooting toward the demon’s head with blazing speed.
