"...."
"WHAT?!" Grey shouted in pure, undiluted shock.
The astonishnt the Supre Magus displayed seed to ripple across the entire battlefield like a plague.
The three enemy Generals, the soldiers fighting for the Velzoria Kingdom, Captain Amir, Sol, Viktor—every single individual present was stunned beyond belief.
Who didn't recognize the man standing before them?
Julius Chandler, the Emperor of the Velzoria Kingdom, was a figure of legend.
For the longest ti, the public remained ignorant as to whether he had even sired an heir or not.
The details of his lineage had been kept so strictly under wraps that the common consensus was that he was childless.
And yet, here he was, casually revealing that Kael was his only son.
The Lunaria Demon, the cold-blooded prodigy of the special ops, was the Crown Prince?
A heavy minute of silence followed.
The entire battlefield fell eerily calm.
No spells were cast and no blades clashed for a mont as everyone struggled to process the gravity of what they were hearing and seeing.
Dante, Lyra, Viktor, and Sol found themselves paralyzed, unsure of which revelation was supposed to hit them the hardest.
Was it the fact that Grey—whom the Otherworlders claid was dead—was currently standing before them in the flesh?
Was it the sight of the Emperor on the front lines despite his failing health?
Or was it the world-shaking disclosure that Kael was his flesh and blood?
For the longest ti, Viktor and Sol had remained by Kael's side.
From their early academy years, they had been an inseparable trio.
They had embarked on perilous missions together, shared als, and attended classes as one unit.
Even after they ascended to the ranks of the Lunaria's special ops, they did everything in tandem, yet they had never truly known of his origins.
Given his staggering strength, they had simply assud he hailed from a high-ranking noble household.
They hadn't expected, nor even considered in their wildest imaginations, that he was the son of the Emperor himself.
The realization hit them all with the force of a freight train.
The first to break the mounting tension was the short General, who finally spoke after an eternity of silence.
"He—He—He is your son?"
Even the bald-headed General was visibly reeling in disbelief. "You an this monster is your kid?"
Amir felt incredibly foolish in that mont.
He wanted to smack his own face in frustration.
The truth had been staring him in the eyes for ages; it was so glaringly obvious that he felt moronic for not connecting the dots sooner.
From Kael's first days at the academy, he had been an unstoppable force, blistering through training protocols with relative ease and wiping the floor with instructors as if they were re amateurs.
Initially, Amir had attributed it to raw talent.
Now, it all made sense.
Kael always had access to advanced resources at the castle.
He possessed the "golden fingers" of royalty.
In fact, he had been granted the latitude to do whatever he pleased without question.
For a brief ti, Amir had suspected that Grey might be the Emperor's son due to the way they both wielded four affinities.
The only detail that had discredited that theory was that Amir himself was the one who had scouted the Supre Magus in a small, remote town and invited him to the academy.
Grey rubbed his face vigorously, his mind spinning.
"So when you said that I had already t him, you were talking about Kael? Kael is your son?! What the hell is going on?!"
Kael stared into the Emperor's eyes for several seconds before letting out a weary sigh.
"Old man, what are you doing here? You could have just sent Grey down here alone. Why did you descend? You know what your condition is."
Julius smiled softly, his expression paternal despite the chaos surrounding them.
"Now now, don't tell
that you suddenly care about your old man. Ha—ha—hah—hah."
Kael glared at the Emperor, refusing to join in the lighthearted mont.
He remained silent for a beat before turning his gaze toward Viktor, Sol, and most especially, Grey.
"Yes. I'm this old man's son. Unfortunately, we had to hide the truth because I wanted it so. I never had real friends due to my status; those I knew treated
all too nicely because of what they could gain.
Hence, I decided to attend the academy… or more accurately, I was sent down here forcefully because I was too wild to handle and I loved fight—"
"... Er… no matter what it is, I don't think here is the right place to introduce yourself," Grey pointed out, nodding toward the three Generals behind him.
"Oh my heavens! It's true—Grey is alive!" Lyra shouted with pure glee.
She jumped up and down excitedly, her boundless energy clear to everyone on the field.
Grey glared at her. "I didn't miss you, Lyra."
He turned his gaze away from the girl, only to see Scarlet shooting daggers with her eyes at Lyra, who was obviously trying to get Grey's attention.
'Burn her!' Scarlet declared inwardly, her eyes narrowing into dangerous slits as her flas flickered with her temper.
Before she could act on her impulse, however, the bald-headed General suddenly burst into a loud, unhinged laughter.
"Okay, okay, okay. It all makes sense now. No wonder he is so strong. But tell
sothing, Julius—what do you seek here? We all know your condition. With every spell you cast, you draw closer to your death," the General grinned, his teeth bared in a mocking sneer.
Kael's hands tightened into fists almost imdiately.
Julius, however, just smirked.
"? Fight? Ha—ha. Hell nah," the Emperor shook his head while pointing behind him at Kael. "I just ca to see if he is okay. Besides, I'm not the one who is going to take you all down. I'm just here to spectate."
The cracked-toothed General lifted a brow in skepticism. "Oh really? Or are you just scared, Julius?"
The Emperor's face darkened, his aura shifting from playful to oppressive in an instant.
"I have the power to wipe you all out in a minute. But unfortunately for you all, there's soone who can do it in half the ti. So why stress myself?"
Tak—! Tak—! Tak—!
Kael stepped forward, positioning himself directly in front of the Emperor.
"You all call
'The Lunaria Demon,' but have you all t the Velzoria Demon?"
Instantly, the army of n suddenly scread in unison.
All eyes turned in their direction to see the soldiers sinking into the earth, dozen by dozen, as the very ground betrayed them.
The clouds thundered overhead, causing every gaze to shift upward.
Massive bolts of lightning were snaking through the dark expanse, coiled and waiting for the mont they would be unleashed onto the fools below.
The corner of Kael's mouth twitched as he stepped aside to reveal the figure standing behind him.
"Well, let
introduce you to the Supre Magus."
BANG—!
A dozen enormous pillars of lightning scread downward from the heavens with lethal, destructive force.
