"President Li, President Li."
A few people walked through the high-speed rail station corridor, and Bai Rui, dressed in a small suit, quietly walked beside Li Jing.
Bai Rui and Xu Tuantuan have similar body types, both about 1.6 ters tall, petite and young, with a single ponytail, which combined with her formal attire, gives off a sowhat capable look.
But her personality is very different from Xu Tuantuan’s. Xu Tuantuan is obviously the social anxiety type, able to perform actively in front of the cara but becoming less articulate in real-world interactions.
Bai Rui, however, is lively and active. Perhaps because she’s been following the strong presence of Wei Jia for many years, she shows respect to Li Jing but doesn’t feel too much awe.
That’s why she beca the first among the group to actively start a conversation with Li Jing.
"What’s up?"
Li Jing’s impression of Bai Rui was quite favorable, so he turned his head to glance at her and said, "Anything the matter?"
"Hey, it’s nothing serious."
Bai Rui sneaked a glance at Wei Jia, who was chatting with Xu Tuantuan about video content, and curiously asked in a low voice, "What’s your relationship with President Wei?"
Upon hearing this, Li Jing raised an eyebrow and saw a hint of curiosity for gossip in Bai Rui’s eyes, so he couldn’t help but laugh, "What do you think our relationship is?"
"How would I know?" Bai Rui shook her head, "President Wei seldom discusses these things with others."
"Oh really?" Li Jing smirked, "Logically, you must have so suspicions to co asking directly, right?"
"I..."
Bai Rui choked on her words, then looked at Li Jing and said, "President Li, you’re too sharp. You caught on to that."
Then, she nervously glanced at Wei Jia ahead, and seeing no sign of her turning around, she continued, "I mainly notice that each ti President Wei ntions you, her expression seems off, so I wanted to ask you about it."
"Expression seems off?"
Seeing Li Jing’s confusion, Bai Rui thought for a mont, then reorganized her explanation, "President Wei usually has two main expressions towards others, especially n.
One is calm and rational, the other is the professional smile typical between business partners, you know.
However, when she ntions you, sotis she smiles, sotis she sulks. In short... her emotions are much richer. I’ve been with President Wei for quite a few years but this is my first ti seeing her like this."
"Really?"
Li Jing raised an eyebrow, "Seems like you’re quite observant of your President Wei."
"Of course, in our position, we need to be attentive to understand the boss’s intentions."
Just after Bai Rui finished speaking, Li Jing laughed and said, "So, can you tell what your President Wei’s current expression ans?"
"President Wei’s current expression? Isn’t she up front..."
Before finishing, Bai Rui suddenly stopped, as Wei Jia had turned around to look at her coldly.
Bai Rui’s smile imdiately froze on her face, and she quickly nudged Li Jing with her elbow, pleading in the lowest voice, "President Li... save ..."
"Cough cough cough..."
Li Jing stifled his laughter and then stepped forward to speak to the stern-faced Wei Jia, "Stop being so serious, it’s quite intimidating."
"What was Xiaorui chatting with you about just now?"
Seeing Li Jing coming out to smooth things over, Wei Jia couldn’t be bothered to interrogate Bai Rui further, she walked over to Li Jing and asked, "Was she asking about the relationship between you and again?"
"You’ve guessed it? No wonder they call you a strong woman, you’re impressive."
"Haha, do you know how insincere your complints sound?"
Looking at Li Jing’s exaggerated deanor, Wei Jia snorted coldly, "That girl is fine in other aspects, but she’s too fond of gossip. I don’t know how she manages those interests."
"Gossip is human nature."
Li Jing shrugged, then looking at Wei Jia’s elegant and aloof profile, teased, "Didn’t you just ask An Tong about my gossip before?"
Wei Jia was stunned by this, recalling the scene earlier when she was questioning An Tong at Li Jing’s ho, she suddenly realized she had indeed done such a thing.
Seeing Wei Jia remain silent, Li Jing laughed, "How about it, did I hit the mark?
When a person cares about another, they unconsciously seek information about them.
This shows Bai Rui cares about your personal life."
Then, Li Jing looked into Wei Jia’s eyes and grinned, "It also ans you care about , right?"
Faced with Li Jing’s confident and proud gaze, Wei Jia revealed an unhappy expression, then coldly laughed, "I admit I care about you, but you’d better be prepared for being cared about by ."
Li Jing furrowed his brows slightly, puzzled, "Prepared for what?"
"Any man I care about must never betray ."
Wei Jia stared sharply into Li Jing’s eyes, "If you hurt , I’ll return the favor twice over."
Feeling the fierce gaze from Wei Jia, Li Jing subconsciously swallowed, with only one word in his mind to describe her—venomous snake.
This woman is not only strong but also seems sowhat dangerous.
Li Jing was dazed for a mont, then quickly regained his composure, reclaiming the dominant stance, and grinned, "Rest assured, you’re my woman, no one will harm you."
"Including yourself?" Wei Jia’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"I will never harm my woman."
Li Jing appeared upright and earnest, "As long as you can tolerate my habit of spreading love, I am definitely your strong support in all other areas."
Upon hearing this, Wei Jia continually gazed into Li Jing’s eyes, seemingly trying to discern the sincerity of his words, then asked, "If my company went bankrupt, would you still stay with ?"
"Why, do you think I care about your money?"
"Then what if my company faces problems and I need you to lend twenty million?"
"Don’t ntion twenty million, even one hundred million is no big deal."
Seeing Li Jing’s smooth-talking deanor, Wei Jia didn’t plan to believe him, "Ha ha, one hundred million? That’s quite generous."
"Of course, you’re my woman after all."
"Well, thank you very much."
Wei Jia didn’t believe Li Jing’s words and stopped indulging in aningless chatter, striding forward.
In her mind, if her funds really hit a snag, no one would give her one hundred million unconditionally.
If there were, that person could only appear in dreams.
Because in her perception, the only person she could rely on completely in tis of trouble was herself. No one else would provide help unconditionally.
And from behind, Li Jing watched as Wei Jia walked ahead, instead pondering whether, if he actually spent one hundred million on her, would the system reward him.
Spending one hundred million on a woman should fit the system’s spending criteria, right?
The system seed to sense Li Jing’s question, indeed responding in his mind:
"If the host spends to satisfy positive emotions internally, any amount will be rewarded back.
But note that the system’s reward chanism is at stage one. The maximum reward deducted at stage one is ninety-nine million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand.
If the host’s spending exceeds this cap, the returned reward will only be ninety-nine million nine hundred ninety-nine thousand."
"There really is a rebate?"
Li Jing was surprised, "So if I give Wei Jia one hundred million, considering the rebate, it actually only costs one million?"
Thinking of this, he felt much more encouraged and quickly caught up with Wei Jia, earnestly saying, "Hey, I ant it just now, don’t doubt ."
"Are you saying if I urgently needed money, you’d truly give one hundred million?"
Wei Jia glanced at him, full of disbelief.
She was too lazy to argue with him over sothing with no practical significance, bluntly saying, "Fine, I believe you, I’m very touched, okay?"
"Hey, why do I feel you’re being perfunctory with ?"
"Am I?"
"Of course. I’ve pledged such a moving promise, don’t you think your attitude is a bit too indifferent?"
"Really? I don’t think so."
"You are just too aloof, no wonder people don’t like you."
"Then you don’t have to like ."
"Really? If I truly don’t like you, you’ll be unhappy."
"..."
"See, I nailed it."
"I’m finding you, this man..."
"How about it?"
"Sotis really deserves a beating."
