After so ti, the group finally arrived back in Ailanthus.
This was Cyril's ho for only a little bit more than a month, but it already appeared familiar to him.
Everyone started going away after a short goodbye.
Clayton with so difficulty got rid of the guards and left, followed by the two recovered students.
Bonzo, in his own unusual way, said thank you to Cyril and quickly walked away.
Regina shot Emdund a piercing look before leaving with asured footsteps.
Edmund himself didn't notice this; he was on his way ho with no emotions visible on his face.
The sa couldn't be said about Myra; her state was still the sa. "For how long is she going to be like this?"
Plenty of ti has passed already, but she didn't get better at all.
Rose looked at her with a complicated expression, then walked over to Cyril and motioned for him to approach her.
What?
"I tried cheering her up on the way, but it didn't work. You should try; she respects you a lot for so reason; maybe you'll succeed." Finishing saying this, she took one last look at her friend and left.
"Do we have nothing better to do?" Rhamn was against the idea. She only wanted to get back ho to check up on Morpho; they've been separate for over a day already.
At this ti they were the only ones left at the gates. It was close to nightti, and no other student was there.
Cyril didn't think he could leave Myra in this state and approached her after waiting a few seconds.
She still stood with her head lowered without even noticing his arrival.
"Hey." Only after he greeted her did she snap out of her trance.
"Oh, hi. I was just thinking about sothing. What did you say?" Her face imdiately returned to her normally composed expression, but Cyril could sohow tell there was no light in her eyes like before.
"Why are you like this? Wasn't this expected?" He didn't beat around the bush and directly addressed the issue.
Myra didn't reply for a few seconds. She contemplated sothing with difficulty before sighing and sitting down on a nearby bench.
"It's because my prophecies are wrong." She finally said this, almost in despair.
"The attack did happen, but it wasn't supposed to be like this, not at all. Sothing's changed about the future, and I don't even know what." She hugged her legs with her arms.
"I made a mistake, and people died because of it... Why am I here? I am too weak for sothing like saving the world..." Her voice was becoming weaker and weaker.
If Cyril's hearing wasn't enhanced, he would've struggled to pick up on what she's saying.
Still, he wasn't sure what to say in a mont like this, but he had to try sothing.
"If you are weak, then what would that make ? I still have a pride to keep, so don't call yourself that." Cyril tried making his voice comforting, but he wasn't sure if it succeeded.
Myra made a slight smile at his words and replied, "That is only now. In the future I won't be even able to co close to your level." After saying this, she stayed silent.
Cyril sat to her side and similarly kept quiet. He was trying to think of anything else that could cheer her up.
"Well, she got that right at least. No one will be stronger than you in the future." Rhamn occupied the remaining spot on the bench. She wasn't worried about Myra in the slightest; maybe it was only a good show for her.
So she is having self-confidence issues... He didn't reply to Rhamn, continuing to think about how to help his friend.
"Stop bringing yourself down." In the end, he decided to try sothing and made his voice slightly more commanding.
"I don't believe you will fall far behind , not even for a second. If you stop at so point, then I will push you forward, and that's that." He got up from the bench and ca in front of Myra.
"It will be too embarrassing for if soone I lost to would lose to others. Stop moping about; how can I save the world without your help?" He cautiously touched her shaking head.
After he finished saying this, there was silence for a few seconds.
Suddenly Myra raised her head and erupted with joyful laughter. She held her stomach and kicked her legs in the air like a child. "What a distasteful laugh."
Cyril awkwardly brought back his hand, not sure what was happening now. At least she looked happier now.
Having laughed until satisfied, Myra got up from the bench and started taking deep breaths to recover.
"I am sorry. I didn't an to laugh like that. That must have looked weird. Didn't think I would see the day when you would try to cheer soone up." She made a slight pause. "Thank you, I am glad that soone was ." She wore an obvious smile.
"You need to work on your words in the future. Don't worry about ; I am tougher than this. I was just thinking about sothing." She giggled again in a light mood.
"What an ungrateful b- person, to laugh at soone offering words of support! As if her own speeches were any better!" Rhamn sneered, and complained half-jokingly.
Cyril looked calmly at Myra's face; her eyes were still a bit red, but there was less of that gloom now.
Not able to endure his stare Myra turned around in a fluster "I am so tired after today, I'll go first!" She said this in a hurry and started moving back to her dorm.
"Let's et at 9 tomorrow at the park. I want to go sowhere with you." Before she disappeared, Cyril invited her. There was still a need to observe her state tomorrow, and he was curious about sothing.
Myra paused slightly, nodded her head without turning around and continued going away in a hurry.
Cyril stood still for so ti, looking at her disappearing back, and sighed.
"Finally it's over. Let's go et Morpho already." Rhamn crossed her arms with a displeased expression, but that soon changed. "Or she will et us..."
At this mont a flying creature hit Cyril's face with all its mass.
Staggering half a step back, he carefully brought his hand as support to the insect excitedly flapping her wings without a care.
"We are back! I am sorry it took so long!" Rhamn stood right in front of Cyril to take a better look.
Morpho landed on the offered finger and twitched her antennae with joy.
It seems like upon feeling that they were in the vicinity, she couldn't wait any longer and darted out of the room herself.
With this new addition, they went back ho. The whole way, Rhamn was telling Morpho what happened in the Tower.
She posed it as an exciting story about how Cyril slayed countless ghouls before dispatching a scary cyclops all on his own and even an archdemon was too scared to fight him.
Cyril didn't comnt on her rendition of the story; he trusted Morpho would have enough understanding of Rhamn to know she was exaggerating.
And he was right. "You better believe, young girl! The head of that big ugly monster went 'boom' in a single hit! Right, Cyril?" Rhamn could feel Morpho's skepticism.
"That's true in a way." Since Morpho couldn't hear his thoughts, he had to speak out loud.
In a weird way he now found it inconvenient; communicating with Rhamn was easier.
Now if anyone saw him talking to the air, people would think him a nutjob.
In a good mood, they finally reached their dorm. It was only a day they were missing, but it felt like a whole week had passed.
Cyril imdiately washed up, changed his clothes, and sat on the bed, ready to welco sleep.
A concerned Morpho flew in front of him, flapping her wings to get attention.
"What's wrong?" Cyril asked with confusion.
"Oh, she must be wanting to get her wish!" Rhamn appeared and sat nearby, looking at the butterfly with amusent.
Cyril almost forgot about the fact he promised her sothing.
"Alright, tell what you want." He would try his best to ease her suffering from waiting a single day for them.
He couldn't talk with Morpho as efficiently, so Cyril waited until Rhamn relayed what would be Morpho's wish.
"Really?... I am not sure that will work... Alright, I'll try." Rhamn's expression beca slightly awkward.
She turned towards Cyril and said with a straight face "She wants to learn how to fight to help you in the future."
Huh? Cyril certainly didn't expect to hear sothing like that. It took him a second to make sure he didn't mishear.
He stared at the excited Morpho and said in an apologetic voice "I am sorry, but that's impossible."
It was not a good feeling to crush soone's dreams, but he simply didn't know how she would be useful in a fight. Besides, if sothing happens, what would he and Rhamn do?
Rhamn, by his side, nodded in agreent. "Let's try to find sothing else, okay?" She definitely didn't wish for her to be in danger.
At this mont, Morpho landed on the table in a flash, and her antennae twitched in defiance. Cyril could feel she was making a butterfly version of the hero stance.
There were strong emotions coming from her; Morpho didn't wish to spend any more ti covering at ho while he fought sowhere.
Cyril could understand her desire, but unfortunately she was simply too small to be of help.
Prolonged silence reigned for so ti before Morpho moved to a pile of textbooks on the table with determination.
Under the confused eyes of Cyril and Rhamn, she put her forelegs on the crystal part of the books and focused.
Suddenly the crystals lit up; it existed only for a brief mont, but it did work. Morpho was able to manipulate mana as humans can.
"That's amazing! With this there might be a chance!" Rhamn excitedly ca closer and observed Rhamn with pride.
"This changes things..." Cyril was also surprised. Being able to affect the crystal ant she was qualified to learn spells.
The question of how much mana she could handle and her spell power was still in the air. But at least there was a chance now.
Morpho proudly straightened up her body, fully enjoying their awe.
When she was left all alone previously, there was plenty of ti for her to waste.
This was the result of her boredom.
