Since the Conch was not a large vessel, it was unable to sail far from the coastline due to factors such as supplies. Even though Lynch and the others could no longer see the scenery of the land, Captain Jebor still had a clear understanding of their current position.
However, after just a few days, Zilvra began to miss the land's scenery. She wasn't bored from drifting at sea every day, but rather annoyed because Lynch kept himself locked in his room and never ca out. After all, the only tour guide scenery that could satisfy Zilvra was the Mage alone.
Without taking it out on the crew, training Soka beca Zilvra's only amusent.
"Rember, I'll throw this piece of wood sowhere, and you'll shoot it." Zilvra tossed a piece of broken wood up and down in her hand, sothing she collected after smashing a few boxes. She said, "If you hit it, there'll be a reward. If not, then you won't be allowed to eat any fruit."
With such a system of rewards and punishnts, Soka was always able to engage in learning with endless enthusiasm.
Macken, Zilvra, and Soka all knew that disturbing a Mage engrossed in research was a very dangerous thing, but the crew on board hadn't realized Lynch's true identity. Although the ordinary sailors deliberately left enough private space for this young "distinguished guest," today, Captain Jebor had to knock on Lynch's door.
"Mr. Lynch! Are you inside?" He had heard the sound of pacing back and forth within the room and was thus certain the young man wasn't asleep, which led him to knock on the wooden door: "Today is an important day on the ship, could you please open the door?"
From inside ca a "giggle," filled with youthful vibes, reminding the captain of stories he'd heard in his youth. There were sirens in the ocean that lured sailors with their songs, guiding large ships into the fog and then crashing them onto the rocks. The only won on board were on deck, and the feminine voice now coming from Lynch's room aroused all sorts of bad imaginations in the captain.
Then, with a bang, the door of Lynch's room was broken down by the captain's shoulder. Jebor rushed in, clutching his ears, only to find Lynch looking at him with eyes full of surprise.
"Captain, what's the matter?" The Mage put down the pen in his hand and stood up from his seat. He said, "I was just about to open the door for you, has sothing urgent happened on the ship?"
Jebor's gaze swept the entire room and found nothing amiss. He lowered his hands from his ears and apologized, "I'm sorry, I heard so strange sounds and thought sothing might have happened."
"It's fine, I'm all right, thank you for your concern." Lynch smiled, "I heard you say that today is an important day on the ship. What event is making everyone so excited?"
"Well, it's Ningfeng Day today, and all the crew can't return to their cabins, or else they'll have bad luck." Jebor chewed the tobacco in his mouth twice before continuing, "But now, this day has turned into a carnival for the crew. There will be a small party on the deck tonight."
"Oh, so it's already that day, I hadn't paid attention." Lynch stretched, "I suppose I should take a break as well. What activities do you have at your party tonight?"
"Just so coarse celebrations." Jebor scratched his head and said, "The crew drinks, dances, plays cards, and gambles; it's basically that, nothing very refined." He paused for a mont and then continued, "But it's very lively. If you want to watch, I can arrange so seats on the bridge where you can enjoy without being disturbed."
"No, we don't need those special seats." Lynch pulled a pouch from his waist and handed it to the captain, "Tell the crew that I'm offering a bag of Gold Coins as a stake. If they can beat , they can take this money. Also, Captain, fetch so fresh dishes and drinks, don't just let people like us have fresh things; let everyone enjoy themselves."
"You are very generous." The captain took the pouch and, upon weighing it, knew that its contents were incredibly valuable. He was about to leave to fetch so fine goods when he suddenly turned back to Lynch and said, "Sir, if you intend to gamble, try not to challenge One-eyed Vilanser. Besides being able to sing a good tune, he's also very skilled at gambling."
