"Respected matron, I was only defending myself." Lynch bowed halfway to the matron for the first ti, "They tried to attack ."

"How is this possible? They are allies of the family and are here to deal with that wench, Briza. Attack you? What reason would they have?"

"Maybe it’s because I’m not wearing the advisor’s badge." Lynch said, "But I don’t think they could clearly see my attire from afar with just a few miserable torches in hand. Their attack was definitely aid at the first family."

Anyway, those who just ca up are either dead or injured. The ones still alive can only wail in agony, unable to contradict the mage’s words. Naturally, Lynch wanted to pit the first family against that Underground Union.

Moreover, under Briza’s careful planning, the first family in front of the mage doesn’t have much ti left anyway, even if they display their remaining strength. Watching bad people fight evil ones is always a pleasing sight.

"Nonsense! You think these two sentences can fool..." Batana’s words were cut off as a light click sounded in the darkness, and three crossbow arrows connected end to end, shooting towards the first matron. This rapid-fire crossbow was very much like the one in Nimo’s hands. Only a little dwarf could create such an intricate device. Lynch focused his concentration and imdiately caught sight of the little dwarf. Not only that, the long-missing Little Finger, Felps, was there too, with the two small figures quickly retreating from the scene.

"Bastard!" Batana lowered her head to dodge the sneak attack of the crossbow arrows, her agility no less than a young Dark Elf. These three crossbow arrows felt like a sharp slap on the self-important matron’s face. Batana, embarrassed and furious, ordered her n to pursue and kill the lowly creatures responsible for the attack!

Lynch stood in front of all the drow, shooting a bolt of lightning in the direction where Little Finger had run. No matter how fast those two little fellows’ legs were, they couldn’t outrun the long legs of a Dark Elf, especially within this base, where the disparity was even more evident. Lynch’s lightning had an explosive effect, and the airflow caused by it temporarily blocked the pursuing drow, slowing them down significantly.

The mage now dearly wanted to catch up and give his friend a hearty hug. This ti spent apart felt longer than the seven years they were separated after their adventure. Lynch always felt that the heavy rocks of the Underdark made his originally slender body appear even smaller.

The matron let out a low growl, also realizing that this chase was purely futile. She recalled her n, cursing the damned Underground Union in her heart, yet she had to first concentrate on clearing the battlefield.

If they didn’t hurry, the battle would be fought in vain. The first family’s purpose in coming here was to strengthen their power through combat. Those treacherous betrayers must be dealt with eventually!

Lynch stared blankly in the direction Little Finger had left, only coming back to his senses after a long while. He lowered his head, leaning on his magic wand, silently leaving in the opposite direction.

Zilvra silently watched Lynch’s departing figure, her thoughts unknown.
